Top quality Nutjobbery! That is what this thread does best - journalism and research that others are either too dim to find, or too agenda-driven or easily-led to accept. That's the end of the road for the poster boy of the Trust.

another excellent spot. Suddenly our little heroic football urchin's clan is exposed as fame-hungry, self-promotional, and willing to say anything to get in a paper. They're giving all his pocket money to pompey...but they can afford to splash out on bottles of water, and as well as being the mascot of pompey future he is also embroiled in the fight against creeping religious intolerance in schools and the imposition of Islamic values on the classroom. Do this busy family have any views on Syria? We need to know!

I think the point earlier was, if the loan has been repaid in full, when is the council going to be removed from the charges? Does that take long? As for today's spin... In many ways we are a Premier League club with a vast catchment area - err, no you are not, you are two divisions below Yeovil, Doncaster and Bournemouth, in a modest catchment area, squeezed by much bigger clubs on both sides. We have a very tight line to walk between driving a personal experience and still retaining that big club feel - no you don't, you are two divisions below Yeovil, Doncaster and Bournemouth, there is no big club feel to retain. You are a small club. Maybe it's time to drop the delusions of grandeur. Though I suspect seeing what our semi-youthful team did last night to a club two divisions superior to them might stop the clamour for a return match with the scummahs anytime soon. I 8-1 would relish that fixture.

I thought they had delayed Robinson for a while, but it looks like they owe him about £100K a month? It doesn't sound much until you equate that to match tickets, and take into account the summer. But with this new policy of fans paying off the debts, the real losers are the big-hearted and rosy-cheeked urchins. Plucky little Alfie won't be seeing pocket money until the year 6628.

the justified fear of relegation has created a culture of anti-football teams - anyone want to see Stoke v Fulham? Sunderland were a good example, AND we gave them a head start, they will be very happy with an away point. I noted West Ham's main attack seems to be from free kicks in their own half, taken by their keeper. He launches it into the penalty spot area and they hope for the best. They will nick goals, and by playing nine across the back they will get points. Sadly we don't get points for being pretty, but I think I would rather lose the odd game 4-3 by playing football than painfully grind out 0-0s and 1-0s all the time - as long as we stay up! We are better than that, but we will come across a lot of sides that will waste time from the first minute and wrestle players to the ground unpunished at every set piece, so we need to be good enough to break them down and take the one chance. That's where £12M+ players come into their own, or should do.

I thought it was announced earlier this week that the loan had been repaid in full... Meanwhile, I have just read something so sickly that I would fear for the wellbeing of my computer if I copied and pasted. It will no doubt appear here soon, carried on a wave of blue hope....you have been warned. Sick buckets at the ready.

Yes, it is a difficult job, but if Mr Mason isn't capable of performing to at least a mediocre level he shouldn't continue to accept the cheques. You don't catch me attempting brain surgery and then excusing a few deaths by the fact that it's difficult. He was so inconsistent it was an invitation for players to take liberties, and they did. If the ref doesn't ref the game, players will. When you see Sunderland defenders not even looking at the ball as corners come in, something is wrong. Thankfully O'Shea was way too busy fouling people to think about defending our equaliser, and Osvaldo, having already been held in an unpunished headlock, was happy he could get away with a blatant shirtpull. I'm quite happy to defend the refs who get MOST things right, but not the refs who deliver woeful efforts. When man on the street 50 metres away from an incident is proved by TV to have read it in live play better than the pro who is five metres away, something is wrong. And it's not sour grapes - last season one of the best performances I recall at SMS was Howard Webb...in the Sunderland home defeat. He was fair, consistent, in control. Is that too much to ask in a professional sport where professional officials earn big money? They're not doing football a favour and helping out, they are paid to deliver a specialist skill to a decent level. Let's hope they don't give Mr Mason a difficult fixture. If he couldn't cope with wild characters like Rickie and JWP, please keep him away from games involving Terry, Suarez, Mourinho etc.

even by obsessive Nutjob standards that is a VERY good spot - it has to be the same development. Do we now have a personal financial link between Arry and other influential people in football? Could there have been any 'unusual' transfer activity between Arry and people with whom he held joint investments? Surely not...no room for mischief there. Back to the present - Guy needs to speak to his boss, they seem to be working to different business plans. ‘The budget is not set. If there is a player and the board think it is possible and if we would like to do it then there is a possibility. ‘But it is not set in concrete that there is money there so you can go and spend it. And I thought the boy from Bury said they weren't budging on wages for anyone.

Even the most jealous and bitter Nutjobs now HAVE to take their hats off to them. That must be the first time in about 100 years, through approx five insolvency events, that pompey have actually paid a debt in full. Just like the underwater casino - it's an astonishing development! Congratulations to pompey fans everywhere, today you can be proud of your club. Whatever next, sticking to a sustainable budget? Or accepting that bigtime football has sailed off into the sunset and you've been left on the dock? One step at a time... By the way, that season ticket income was the working capital for the next few months, so good luck with the overheads and the repayment to the property developer. But today isn't a time for cheap shots, it should be a day for congratulations on meeting the minimum requirement of a proper trading company for the first time in at least a decade. It's like they are a real business. Amazing.

maybe their fringe is on the back of their heads...

so many rants, so little time. On the cycling theme and to offer a little balance.....people who walk their dogs up and down and across cycle lanes without looking, fat pedestrian families who waddle up cycle lanes with their bulging shopping bags of shiny tat and Iceland ready meals, blocking the whole path. People who call themselves proper cyclists but don't wear a helmet, if you want to go at 35mph, what do you think will happen when you come off? Train companies - you paid £3K and you expect a seat? You've lost your £22 return ticket, that'll be £38 for a single...and why on earth do they have those squeaky tables?? Were they 3p cheaper than proper ones? Barclaycard - customer service run by a retarded chimp. Any company that you can't get hold of that hides behind online barriers, but thinks that they can fob you off with a list of frequently asked questions, all of which are totally irrelevant. Ebay search - you searched Ford Fiesta, did you mean Fiesta by The Pogues? No, I'd have typed that if I'd wanted it. Parking fees. Awful music - what are the Pet Shop Boys up to, is that meant to be a serious single? There should be a board of control that stops really poor songs being released. Men who like Mamma Mia or think that Olly Murs is good. These things are aimed at 10 year old girls, what is wrong with you? Gok Wan, why does he even exist? Breakfast telly, bland nothingness presented by bland vacant former-journalists - not much news, but lots of promotions of forthcoming BBC programmes. Strictly on the BBC - people I've never heard of doing something I'm not interested in, to a script based on a strict panto formula. The movie Warhorse - woeful, I'd broken my own leg ten minutes in and begged to be shot. Eastenders, Holby etc - written by idiots, for idiots. Got to go, time for my meds.

has that site been hacked? That's the most sensible pompey debate I have ever seen, all five of their non-deluded fans must have gathered in the same place. And now we know that there are sensible ones, these brave few need to put the rest of the gobby majority on a leash, and advise them to stop fuelling our comedy. If that handful had come on here admitting money-laundering and admiring how Saints were being managed, this thread would have croaked at 100 pages. Thank god for Barbie Boy. In fact, if common sense and facts are the way forward, this would be a watershed moment in inter-club relations! But don't panic, I'm sure there's a portsmyth around the next corner.... Osvaldo used to be called Tina, and he murders puppies for fun.

Indeed Mero, we are all guesstimating. Though it is a fact that selling an extra 2,500 tickets per game at discounted rates for cash upfront, results in a shortfall of more than half a million pounds. It is also a fact that the wagebill that was set in stone, has already been rewritten. Chuck in reliable information about the amount being paid to Ferry, and it all looks a bit 2010. So I'm just reminding you that the owners of your club blatantly lied to you for the last few years about costs, and we were dismissed as Jealous Nutjobs for pointing this out. We are now just wondering if anything has changed under the all-new transparent team... I guess we will just have to wait for the great investigative genius Hall to enlighten us, or for accounts to be filed.
-
Don't believe the hype. break even was based on about 8K season tickets. The glorious success of discounted sales means actual matchday income on an 11,500 attendance is significantly lower than projected. Add in the ongoing overspend on the wages and the overall figures aren't that clever. Either way, they should be congratulated on seeing off mighty Morecambe - certainly the football event of the week, I know I'll never forget where I was when I heard that Jed Wallace had chipped Arestidou. Off hand I think at our lowest we were something like 52 places below the few? That means we have seen a swing in our favour of about 125 league positions. Nice.

Have you ever been this excited about a season kick off?
rallyboy replied to chocco boxo's topic in The Saints
never been so excited by something before the season has started, and certainly not by an England friendly - yesterday was very special, just hoping the season lives up to Rickie's international debut. -
in financial news, we spent £1M on Rickie Lambert.... pompey spent £1M on architects' plans for the 80,000-seater Harbourdome. SRL has given us much joy - as have those plans! £2M well spent.

Supporting England, bothering to watch the game, yet not celebrating an England goal because it has been scored by a player from a certain club?? - that sort of stunt was mainly reserved for the National Front, and is the first sign that severe mental illness is beyond help. I'm no fan of that nasty Cole/Terry gang, but I've just not bothered to watch them, rather than boo when they win a game for England. Fair play to most of the few, rather surprisingly there has been a lot of praise for SRL on The News site - mainly because what he did was fricking amazing and difficult to criticise! Though I suspect we should be due a new version from the east sometime soon - pompey's own england star Alex created the winner by making the space for the former Blackpool, Macclesfield, Stockport, Rochdale and Bristol Rovers man to accidentally deflect a corner into the empty net. As for pompey fans being selective about whether a victory is worthy because they are picky about how it was won - oh the irony!
-
I don't think so Ken, that would suggest that a slightly different version of events is being spun to gain sympathy. Furthermore I find it difficult to believe that anyone would try to influence the easily-led and make them lap up every dubious story given to them as fact. Then again I only see the good in people.

Has Hall spent his newfound wages on personal grooming and sacked his nan from cutting his hair with bacon scissors? If you run a thinly-veiled PR campaign under the guise of investigative journalism and your reward is a job from the winning candidate, there will be personal expenses - that's business. At least he now looks like a man who can afford the legal costs that are the predictable result of launching a legal battle against people who shoot each other. Removed the article but stands by it? There's a thin line between brave and foolish. And I thought we were assured that there were no problems with the blog. Maybe that was just big talk to maintain the spin around the Trust being the only answer? But this development is not an unfortunate twist of fate. Like most of pompey's woes, this situation was completely predictable, and on reflection, must have been a risk worth taking in the PR campaign to steer the fanbase away from other bidders. But once again, just like his great club - you've had your fun, got the result you wanted, now it's time to pay up. They must be running out of buckets.
-
Not really, they scooped his signature from under the noses of dozens of other suitors who offered way more money, but he chose to leave us and join them as they are a much bigger club... Though I haven't seen him fill in the standard template press release about the bestest most fantastic fans....he must be the only one in that squad who hasn't tried to buy popularity through shallow statements. Then again he's the only one there who does his talking on the pitch. The poor bloke is surrounded by the runts of a non-league litter. They don't need a transfer window, they need a bolt gun, or a big bag and a canal. Perhaps DC recently played in front of more passionate fans, in quantity, and who were a lot more supportive as he played a significant role in our return from League One?

Gaydamak seems to be painted as a panto villain there - but I thought he was a great hero who guided them to plucky cup glory? They need to get their story straight before going public. It seems that Terry the builder covered his back when he realised he'd been shafted. His friend is helping with storage. Otherwise known as securing your debt. If the Accrington tv highlights were anything to go by they should take one of those oak chairs out of storage and put it in a keeper's shirt. And if there was ever a myth with portsmyth written right through the grain, it's that their old Woolworth's table was made with oak from HMS Victory! For a new company that hasn't even got around to filling their first accounts, they seem to be interested in a lot of old stuff that isn't relevant to them and belongs to other people.

Whether it was Wembley or home games, the eternal attendance debate was settled ages ago. We won, it was wrapped up before halftime. There was no right of appeal. They just need to clutch onto their glorious selective history, keeping the trophies, ignoring the wars, brushing out the changes of name, glossing over the multiple insolvency events. Brand new pompey, a fresh start, free of historic debt, no connection to the criminal past - but still trying to pretend it's the late 1940s and wanting to cherry-pick from history. Can you really distance yourself from the child-maimer who bought the cup using laundered blood money and didn't pay the players, and still celebrate the cup? Err, no. Not if you genuinely want to be a new business, fan-owned and respected, playing on a level playing field. Pay the bills and you get to keep the stuff. Tis the rules.
-
I go away for two days and they open up a new myth factory - all on the back of a glorious point at Accrington Stanley. The rewriting of history is laughable and deluded in equal measure. It's as if the Oxford debacle and ground evacuation has been wiped from the record books. I'm interested to hear of creeping wages and crass behaviour... Normally I might dismiss that sort of talk as wishful thinking, but on this occasion I suspect that it may come from a reliable source. Any more snippets that we ought to workshop into comedy routines?
-
before one becomes a role model for Barcelona and Manchester United to enviously copy, perhaps one ought to get a safety certificate and open the ground - it's called prioritising. But no, pompey blaze a trail! - a pioneering digital revolution, set against a backdrop of lardy plumbing, unsafe stands, and looming cashflow-crisis...next thing they'll be going on about their catering and radio station being the envy of the world. This isn't running before they can walk, it's like claiming Olympic 100m Gold before the fastest sperm has even thought about going out on manoeuvres.
-
to hand? You'll need a fricking truck to move that list.
