  1. At the right price it would be a good deal IMO
  2. Whilst I agree with the pricing model the transfer window itself has absolutely no basis to how any finacial market models work. There is a supply and a demand but ultimately the fees are wildly different. For example, three names, carroll, lallana and kroos. The most expensive of which is the least talented and visa versa. Realistically we need a couple in the door to make ourselves attractive to those players that arent just interested in cash.
  3. Once again you're far to busy riding you're high horse to see the actual points being made, that sort of comitment to your pretencious cause has to be applauded
  4. I think that we are stocked to cover it but I still think that he is our best player and losing him will be the biggest blow. None of the others are a patch on him imo
  5. I think that the fees were generally good, but Im hearing hungry eyes are on Lovren, chambers, schmeiderlin and even cork now There comes a point when you need to be strong and say enough is enough. I was resigned to Shaw and Lallana leaving but its getting rediculous now.
  6. Im not being petulant just because I believe (and has been alluded to) that there is an issue in camp. My opinion isnt completely polarised is it ? I have always been very optimistic in the main on this board, and tried always to stay unbiased. I have contact with people at staplewood so always had a slight inside track. Its my personal opinion that although we were resigned to losing players we could have managed things better then we have. Is that petulant ? You should try calmy attempting to post how you percieve the situation to be only to be shot down ad infinitum with nothing more then 'its all money, its obvious' as proof ?! Ive not been banging on over and over, just said I dont think things are happy in camp. If that makes me petulant then oh well. FWIW Ive said I think KL has best interest at heart, we just were a mess for a few months and have niavely handled this situation. I think other posters should look at how they respond to those they disagree with to be honest.
  7. Thanks for sort of making my point. Gerrard and henderson are not natural DMs, Gerrard is more of a playmaker now, like Pirlo for Italy, for Liverpool generally his responsibilities are to help break up play and keep the ball moving, hendo plays further forward. So, what does Woy do !? Plays them both infront of defence for catastrophic consequences, Gerrard in the whole had an excellent season playing deep for LFC, some of the media were saying he was europes best there on earlyish season form (i dont know if i agreed by the way) by the end of the season he looked exhausted, he litteraly gave everything to LFC and I think it was obvious at the end how tired he was. Hodgson then brought him to the WC and again he looked tired to me. Now, ok, he is past it now but the england CM is lacking, he could have done a job, Woy played 433 in warm ups and we looked ok, against Costa Rica he played 3 in there and we looked much better so why try to get away with a static two in the WC !? Im not saying SG was good enough in the WC at all, he wasnt, but Woy managed to make things worse IMHO
  8. Its pretty hard to tactically **** up the left back position though
  9. You need to ask yourself, behind all of this big cap earners are there ? Regardless of their abilities ? Genuine question not point scoring ? Behind say, gerrard/beckham/rooney etc who is there ? Regardless of both of our percieved ability levels of those three behind them is very little at all, thats englands real problems. That and an insistance to play all of our stars regardless of whether they can play together or fit the system
  10. In the same way as the others did, saying gerrard didnt perform is pretty much crap anyway. He was a good left back, much better for his club though, mainly because england in general are crap
  11. My suggestion in this case would be pay the money and get it done, we need to shift our situation to that with a positive outlook
  12. He was a good player in a poor performing england team
  13. Exactly this, people seem not to understand this point, it comes to a point in time, i.e now, that we need to be thinking about the coming season. Losing 3 first teamers is already a massive issue. He wont strike for long, nor will he be happy to be dropped into the reserves as it impacts his career. Id be inclined to say 'You signed a contract last year, you arent going anywhere until we have a replacement here and our asking price met, Id suggest you put up and shut up'
  14. TBF atleast he always seemed passionate, I remember Lampard laughing and joking after the 4-1 defeat against germany. Id say it was an underperforming team of crap tactics and pish managers, Ive not seen an England team in my lifetime that I consider anyone has 'performed' in, thats not a problem of the players per se as you have had the likes of shearer, terry, gazza, gerrard, scholes etc I find it more an issue with the FA and set up in general
  15. This Always makes me laugh regarding the roy of the rovers crap in similar ways to people moaning about morgans style of play. Generally at this level, the top level, you are asked to play a certain way and Id imagine that Gerrard was given licence due to his ability at influencing games be it through what was terrific passing ability or his shooting. He was a top level player no doubt, I have a hard on about it because I respect his talent as does the majority of the footballing world. We have nobody right now anywhere near his ability unfortunately
  16. Whilst not immediately a fan of overspending, I think that potentially it is avoidable in our current predicament, if as speculated we are struggling with incomings due to how our situation is being percieved I think its vital that we arrest this with 1 or 2 higher profile signings if nothing but to try a get a positive feeling back Forster would be a good start
  17. Ahh must be me being think again as this appears to be the post of someone backtracking, my bad
  18. GK - Forster CB - De Vrij/vlaar/shawcross/williams/kongolo 2x of any as jos isnt good enough AM - hughes ST - ings/curci/lazerette 1x of I still think we need a lb aswell. Targett may well be a star but I dont want another season worrying about what we have in reserve

  20. I find this quite remarkable from a man thats reinvented himself from annoying keyboard warrior to a more annoying keyboard warrior who when called out claims not to be the same person but there you go
  21. Put me on ignore then ? I think this is basically the only year I havn't been optimistic TBF. And you dobt have to agree with me
  22. Pulling that off will definately shut me up... Not entirely sure we will mind
  23. Well in that case this isnt relevant considering he said he didnt know who we bid for but he thinks it may be janmaat
  24. Id imagine most look at two things, cash and oppurtunity. Right now Id imagine its a hard job to sell oppurtunity considering they have seen nothing but us selling our crown jewells. As for cash surely thats not an issue considering the wages Id expect those crown jewells to have earnt and the fees recieved
  25. Im taking it with a pinch of salt, the same way I deal with Guans info, its all very interesting of course.
