Ill answer you both The issue isnt with the bids or with them necessarily leaving it is in the way it has occured. Players effectively forcing moves, speaking out in public and threatening to strike. Whilst I cant argue that these players may or may not have gone we seem effectively powerless to stand in their way when only a matter of months ago they were talking about lengths of contracts and the board buying to match ambition. The mood has changed, I get the fact that big clubs have come knocking but much I imagine is because they are aware these players are attainable. I honestly dont think their reaction would be as militant if all was rosey in camp st marys

Where ? It was reported we wanted 35m for Lallana who went for 23-25 heavily made up by add ons Not so sure about shaw but yes, it was reported we wanted 40m and yes he went for less. Lovren will go, my bet is itll be less than 20m

Hernandez really isnt top quality, if anything we have dodged a bullet. A serial bench warmer for utd and mexico despite both needing goals ? Doesnt offer much except for poaching ? Would cost a fair amount in fees and wages. The games moved on from poachers in the whole, strikers need to do more, Hernandez isnt that man

Ahh cool I reckon we will employ him as the maurading left sided CB, ball winning, creative striker Everythings fine, the player exodus is purely all down to them being money grabbing bastards and getting 5 players into the club is easy. Top 6 and a cup run next year
-
Exactly, adam, mopo, shaw all said similar things, still talking about ambition and the hope the club would follow it up Fastforward a few months and we have the exodus, regardless of what happens between now and the end of the TW somethings seriously gone wrong

Honestly ? Perhaps, meant to be a good player, but our team balances on a ball winner, thats not Reed

This People can call be a bedwetter, fact is Ive been all but constantly optimistic, even through our administration. This however is unprecedented, you're exactly right, replacing 5 players, 4 of which are first team (would realistically have been five if not for Ossies issues) is catastrophic. Not only are one or two possibly destined for failure but the upheaval and difficulty to get them to gel ? Its destined for failure Peoples underestimation of our reliance on Morgan is criminal. He is vital, the lynchpin and has been our best player for atleast 3 years. Forget Cork, Victor and Davis, he is better than the three combined.

Dusan Tadic - DONE DEAL, official and everything

Or alternatively you could show us proof of their competance ? -
Drink does talk doesnt it..........

I dont think anythings being directed at Guan, and to be honest, its not hard to understand why fans are frustrated, of course a few are a bit more over the top then others but the only FACTS that are open is our 4 big stars, the biggest being Morgan are edging towards the door with the majority gone or prying it open and with no replacements. Obviously the board has time to change things but right now things look pretty bleak. Its now pretty much confirmed to be that its ambition and the board that is the issue, of course, this could be just an excuse, but its hard to use an excuse that isnt there.

Football fans in being dopey ****s shocker Social media opens you to abuse, none moreso than if you are a celebrity and worse if you are a team sportsman due to the passionate nature of it. Personally Id rather they werent allowed on it but its to be expected to be honest

So what ever happened to we will lose those we are happy to lose and nobody else will go ? Board looking very amateur right now, hardly filling anyone with any confidence. In a time they needed to stand tall against those they wanted to keep and perhaps pay over the odds once or twice to ensure a signing and steady the ship they are doing the opposite. Ill still give them untill the start of the season before completely making my mind up but this year has ultimately been disasterous already. A hard season beckons with a bottom half finish

Regardless of how it came about its a similar situation, in fact ours is arguably worse as its not through choice but by senior players including our captain that are openly forcing moves away -

This really Its a possibility we could hit the ground running but all indications say that it will be an upward struggle regardless of the quality of incoming. Those posters saying we will be ok with 4-5 incoming were the same slamming Sunderlands excessive transfer policy last year and dooming them to failure -

Have you watched Tadic play ? At all ? Have you even watched Benega play ? Do you base anything on anything in reality or are you just a FM plum ? Dont know who Koeman is ? Your clueless mate, lets get Rhodes in to lead the line eh ? -
Id say as far as a CEO of a football club was concerned overseeing two promotions and effectively massively improving the overall value of the club wasnt bad going. Ultimately it was the fact that his was the only opinion that mattered whether it was his money or not was his downfall
-
The fact that Rodgers is pulling the strings is whimsical ******** Id say. Like most things, your head doesnt get turned unless you've started looking, unfortunately its the clubs lack of ambition that has caused the players to look for new pastures and once theyve looked the cash on offer has convinced them.
-
He has had reasonable success in holland and won a cup in spain? So arguably a better record then MoPo who proved himself to be a very good appointment
-
Im not entirely sure how I managed to read this far without skimming, never have I read such utter dribble
-
Not entirely sure how you've managed to blame MoPo and not the board but there you go. Even after Cortese left the players were talking about the new board getting behind their ambitions and MoPo spoke of staying. If the 35m transfer kitty (plus sales) was there originally then that ambition could have been kept. I think ultimately KL never realised that NC would actually quit, and as that happened left here in the lurch. Scraping around for someone that could lead, it was clear that there was a lot of uncertainty, now, its not necessarily the boards fault, perhaps it shouldve been managed better but whats done is done. The players realised the club no longer held their ambition and they looked elsewhere. As did MoPo, who I think WOULD have stayed if things reletively remained the same however ****ed me off by employing some very underhand tactics upon leaving, perhaps, again the board should have been stronger a la Swansea 'sign or go' Unfortunately the damage is done, clearly Lovren hasnt bought conpletely into Saints, but he was up for the challenge, I dont blame him for wanting out, its the way the players are forcing their way out thats more worrying, there seems to be a need to leave the sinking ship. Jury is still very much out for the current captains of the old ship southampton and the waters are getting very choppy
