Exactly my thoughts, anything we can ‘get away with this year’ gives us more opportunities next
-
In fairness I agree our premiership recruitment was horrendous, we’d be left in the lurch by Wilcox, somehow decided we didn’t need another DoF and threw too much autonomy at Martin By the looks of it, getting this team set the way we have now and keeping £80m of the sales profit is exceptional work and hopefully, all being well, sets us up to attack next year
-
Btw Id read this about him, exceptional shot stopper but prone to a clanger, which I guess is why nobody higher up the divisions have taken a punt on him
-
Missed the point spectacularly
-
Tell me how well goalkeepers do in general in Russell Martin systems then we can have a chat
-
Which he has done this season Im not going to dig him out for missing a shot that he probably didn’t see until late and was well placed because the covering defender did a horrendous job defending the situation
-
Yeah the critique Baz got for the Stoke goal is laughable really THB and Stephens are more culpable than Baz
-
It was a tentative link at best. Norwich won’t sell him to Ipswich. Nunezsale already went down like a shit sandwich Plus the Nunez sale balances the books for them
-
Give it a rest for 24 hours
-
Tbf they are, they wanted a clean break, it was Semmens who convinced them to keep him on
-
If we get this Jelert and Scienza in the door and somehow manage to convince someone to pay BBD as a footballer Id say we’ve had the best window of any of the clubs down here, and coincidentally have the best squad, especially if we consider depth I don’t want to hear that SR don’t invest, they always have, and for once Im happy we’ve actually bought players to improve ourselves in positions we need, instead of buying a ton of players per position What I like is the age profiles, Ive never had issue with youth, one thing SR did well was bought players with sell on value, and before Im sniggered at that’s how we managed to pull in 72m BEFORE the TD and MF sales, because financially the younger players are less risk SR always failed to make the important signings count, but looking at it we’ve done that this time Azaz is a quality signing, Jandar looks promising (i don’t know much) but Fellows is an absolute belter, a division leader in a position we needed strengthening and for what I would say is cheap For once…… well done SR… thank fuck Ankerson dropped the reigns

If its the Dane he’s a RW not a striker
-
Yeah… the league record is 16m, and we’re going to spend 20m+ on a striker to go alongside the other 4/5 we have on the books…..
-
Id make her climb down from her transfer expectations
-
Charles and Fraser have probably been our best players tbf
-
I was with him FWIW I’ve been going back and forth on it, but if we aren’t able to win games with Azaz, Fellows, Robinson/Scienza plus one of Downs/Stewart/Archer then frankly its been a shit show
-
We can’t say anything for certain Leeds bought Piroe, a guy we desperately wanted on the forum due to his form for Swansea, he was average at best that year, I remember them moaning about it Point is… even if we buy a known entity it could still go wrong Don’t get me wrong, should Sargeant be available for sub 15m Id go for it, although, it will cause us squad issues and issues next year, the more we spend now, the less we have later…. I think Archer and Stewart is enough given a run of games and I do see something in Downs
-
Yes we do Downs, Archer and Stewart are more than enough
-
Alfie tends to be like Athletic, gets a lot of info but only reports when he is confident Where as the likes of Crook who obviously want engagement just report a fart on the training ground if it’s directed in another teams direction
-
We surely aren’t signing Ikone or Guilivogui… where are they going to fit if we still have Fraser and Robinson ?
-
-
Hang on what ?
-
Ill be honest… I don’t think getting Dibling or Fernandes out of the door would of necessarily accelerated our purchases of Fellows or Azaz tbh Boro or WBA probably don’t operate much differently to us, attempting to hold onto our best players until alternatives are lined up Pretty telling, atleast in Fellows case, that it was reported that we got in contact with WBA a litre while and the fact cogs are only moving now sort of highlights what was said originally around clubs securing other targets, or, waiting for other interested parties first As for Azaz, I think its because we were given good indication from Spertsyans reps that it was moving, such is football finance… my… ‘guess’ is we enquired about Rudoni, told no, then moved to Azaz unless we enquired simultaneously Think Fellows was a separate deal entirely Edit - Just to add, and Ive said it before in here, due to my dealings past and present around the club I have been able to go to a few matches in the directors box over the last 36 months (my contacts gone now unfortunately) and have potentially met the same person as mentioned above…. Didn’t win me over I have to admit
