  1. What exactly do you want them to do with Aribo and Edozie ? Cancel their contracts ? Looks like Aribo rejected an offer from Turkey and Edozies transfer offers were too low Not sure thats SRs fault I have a lot of criticism of them over, certainly the last 18 months, but outside of not buying a starting No.9 (genuinely criminal btw) they pretty much did everything right for me this window
  2. I think this is the point I made, he’s built an expensive team to fit his primary formation and has still struggled to find a regular formation/line up And Im not anti Still, I still believe at the time it was the right/good appointment from the club considering his standing in the game and available options at this level He’s just turned out to be bland and unimpressive and (forgive me Ive been away in the states for 3 weeks) was it him that fell out with the dressing room ?
  3. Because I think the longer this period of mediocrity continues will further push a weight of expectation on the club Swansea at home for a team that is rightly regarded as automatic contenders should be a win, and all things considered I felt like it was a must win for the reason above
  4. I think he is being rightly criticised, this is a team he has expensively assembled and yet is now forced to play a formation that doesn’t suit his buys We can point heavy fingers at SR of course for a striker purchase we have desperately needed for years but have paid a huge sum on what was potential, theres an element to me that says thats not Will’s fault, but Id assume he was happy with the strength of the squad following his comments Today.. I had down as a must win, im not as annoyed as I think we did enough, but I do think he deserves to be firmly on watch and Im hugely dissapointed with his start considering his fanfare
  5. Is there an alternative to Fawanews ? Its awful this week
  6. We looked good when we got the ball down and played football but it was fleeting Manning and Downes looked like they were playing hot potato, didn’t want the ball and wanted rid of it as soon as possible I thought Fellows and Azaz looked dangerous but we never gave them the ball Hoof ball to Archer ? Just why Felt like we completely wasted the first half tbh
  7. Positives We didn’t lose Jander looks good Thats it really
  8. Its lazy though, players ‘go missing’ because they don’t get the ball He’s had no service at all so far
  9. Agree I like archer, he’s probably my starting No.9 but he’s not going to hold the ball up Every long ball we lose comes straight back… I ‘think’ he’s trying to play how Ralph used to play, where you try to catch their back four in possession but they’ve dealt with it well.. and our press is lethargic
  10. Fuck me… much better playing some football
  11. If he wanted to play this shite long ball why start Archer ?
  12. No foul there for me On the game though, Manning looks like he doesn’t want the ball near him, he’s playing really nervy, we need to keep an eye on that Defensively we aren’t dealing with crosses at all, and in possession we aren’t playing football, just lumping it We need a huge improvement here
  13. Fuck me i can’t settle these nerves
  14. Yup Pretty big miscalc on my part
  15. The word ‘clearly’ is doing a ton of heavy lifting here
  16. Who do you suggest we buy that doesn’t come with risk ? We’ll also play Archer as our 9 Im not prescribed to the school that says we need a target man, we don’t play long balls like Wrexham do
  17. Kieffer moore obviously
  18. Missed the point again
  19. I think if we play 4231 where the lines should be a bit more compressed then it should allow one of Downes or Charles (preferably Downes) to operate more as a 6 and the other an 8 At the moment it feels like they’re both having to be a sort of 6/8 hybrid FWIW in that case we don’t ‘need’ a more defensive CM brought in, they just need cleaner definition of their roles
  20. My issue with 3 backs is its always easy to believe that its more defensively sound, and from experience back when I coached and just by watching the game its arguably the opposite 2 CB systems are easier because you know exactly what your responsibilities are, where as 3 CB systems introduces the ‘option’ to leave it to your CB partner(s) I also think in the way we play, it overloads the two CMs because the distances between the front line and defensive line is too vast, that means the wide CBs have to step out (and also step into the half spaces vacated by WBs) so it makes it all a bit messy on the transition My main complaint remains that we lose midfield battles too often and are open to break aways too much without seeing an overall dominance down the flanks.. so I question if risk is worth rewards ? Anyway… just some things Ive been thinking a while.. I do think we have the quality to be a dominant force in the division, just need some tweaks
  21. This point last year Burnley and Leeds had 7 and 8 points respectively We havn’t had a disastrous start but there’s obviously a hangover/lack of consistent team If he carries on with 5 atb Ill be concerned, but Im hopeful with our new signings in and an international break to work on things we can kick on
  22. You mean to say we got relegated and they’re managed squad got worse ? Thats absolutely mental
  23. Also… before we lose our shit, Ipswich havnt won a game yet and they’re managed by Mckenna who has been there years Im genuinely not worried yet, we’ve been good enough to win every game so far
  24. Whilst I understand what he is saying regards 5 atb and apparently having no wide men, I don’t think we’ve won a single midfield battle this season.. and that, in part, is due to Downes/Charles being overloaded … edit … I was going to write up some tactical thoughts but I just cba 5 atb isn’t working, defensively we’re confused, midfield weak and balls not sticking up top Bring on the international break and hopefully we go 4231 against the skates
