Its just what Ive heard really, we’re pushing for promotion this year, and pushing hard.. we’re comfortable with our finances but also aware we will lose players that will cover most costs anyway Issues will begin to arise if we are not close in Jan and we’ll have to reassess if still a Champ club next year But currently there are no issues and we’re comfortable extracting as much value as possible from outgoings
-
Probably, I mean it’s unfortunately no different to how any club operates these days but I believe we aren’t that concerned about our finances yet, probably not until January or the end of the season if things don’t go our way That said I think the Tino persuit goes late into the window, and I wonder if KWP goes then we’ll pull the plug Ultimately I hope we don’t deal with Newcastle, who have plenty of cash but are seemingly trying to do all they can to bully us here
-
I think I still expect Tino to leave, just seems like there is too much noise around it. I don’t begrudge the kid a move, just want him to go for a price we’re comfortable with

Bloody Besiktas stopping us getting our funds in order for the Mbappe offensive

I think the sticking point is the contract, not necessarily the fee

I feel this is a great signing in the Championship

New Saints reporter for The Athletic (Jacob Tanswell)
Smirking_Saint replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
Doesn’t the Athletic model mean they get more money due to engagement/subscriptions based on the clubs they report on ? If so it’s understandable that we’ve lost both Jacob and Carl I imagine that means Alfie will step up from the Echo then -
We’d of probably got away with it a lot more if our fielding had been anything more than wasteful but even that being said… totally agree, its not even fun watching this gung ho cricket when Im cringing at some of the dismissals
-
Id argue that if logic and stats show that Bednarek was the best defender out of the four posted then I was using the correct terminology but each to their own
-
Overall it feels a dissapointing fee tbh, I think £30m means we get about £18m in return ? Overall we’re pretty well stocked in the RB position though, so maybe it’s indicative that there is little interest in KWP
-
Neither are particularly great but Bednarek is clearly a better CB than Jack, and the stats support my general opinions whilst watching him Stephens only managed to play half of Bournemouths games, even when they were terrible defensively He’ll be ok in the Champ but nothing more. Similar to Lyanco JS gets the benefit of the doubt because he shows a bit of ‘pashun’ every now and then… even if he then leaves the player he just tried to wind up completely free at the back post…. FWIW though stats aren’t everything, Lyanco looks like a world beater
-
You think Stephens is a better CB then JB ?
-
Bednarek is literally the best defender in that back line though 😂

I wouldn’t really want Ings for anything other than a free High wages and his knees ? Its a risk imo
-
I think we could tempt broja, I doubt he’ll get a starting role in a PL this year, he could do with a career restart and a team battling at the top of the Championship would probably be a good start Ings.. I agree, I was speaking hypothetically
-
Not sure about Ings It seems like an absolute dream signing potentially, and he should fit the tactics perfectly But then you factor in his age, injury record and the fact he hasn’t looked the same player since the season BEFORE he left I think Id personally go and tickle Chelsea’s balls for Broja
-
I did some reading and I don’t think thats true actually… I heard on Talksport they needed to be in SA 2 years but I can’t find that anywhere So its TS talking shit by the looks of it
-
Its only tax free if it out of the country for 2 years
-
I don’t really understand the point you’re trying to make ? The reason I think Lavia was more important than JWP is because without the underrated work that Romeo did/does the rest of the team wouldn’t function JWP cannot effect games if it wasn’t for Romeo allowing the team to maintain shape and win the ball back
-
Doyle is a great CB, and I do think he could of done well here… there is no option though, as they couldn’t afford it Its a straight loan
-
If you’re referring to Doyle that would be the one they got on loan that they couldn’t agree on the buy clause ? Because they couldn’t afford it ? Or Winks that came in to replace Tielemans ? Or Coady who looks like is replacing Evens ? Yeah doesn’t add up does it……
-
Leicester need the money as they are genuinely staring down the loaded barrel of FFP and general cash flow issues They’re a mess
-
Lavia And if I was to chose someone to coach the Saintsweb football team it wouldn’t be you 😂
-
We looked a shadow of the team without him… you literally cannot have 11 players all attempting to ‘play killer passes’ etc, you need somebody to take the pressure off and give us the bedrock to progress from There is a reason good No.6’s are expensive, they are an absolute prerequisite to most.. if not all modern tactics Lavia was probably out biggest asset In ‘affecting’ results, in the sense that we were completely uncohesive without him
