I find myself in this camp, I like him, think he’ll do well.. but realistically makes sense to cash in and fund someone like Piroe/Gyokeres
-
A Rice/Lavia double pivot will be incredibly solid
-
I hate how the media phrase it… “Newcastle threatening to walk away” as if they are doing us a favour Pay up or shut up.. you have the money Eddie
-
No.. just my own conjecture
-
If its just training I question why he wasn’t allowed to carry on here
-
Ive been away for a few weeks but I absolutely wouldn’t be surprised to see him do well at Reading He is imo, and from what I hear a very likeable and talented young coach, unfortunately this job was just too much for him and he was too friendly with the players Given a chance somewhere like Reading he could do well, depending on the level of expectation there of course… he clearly needs to work on his management but overall I think there could be a good manager in there in a few years
-
I think regardless of overall squad shape we probably need a striker and a CM A striker because we’ve been searching for one for a couple of years with no real luck and despite my opinion that Che ‘should’ do ok this year Id feel a lot more confident with a Gyokeres or Piroe A CM because Martin will likely line up with 3 midfielders and so even in the unlikely case that we start the season with Lavia and JWP I feel we’ll look to bring in another, probably Grimes unless Swansea play absolute hard ball
-
Yes and no… he’s a good solid, experienced CB but you effectively have to play him in a back 5 I would have liked to have him around the place almost certainly but there’s no point in moving for him before we know the shape of our back 4 over the next couple of weeks If either Salisu or ABK stay then signing Coady would have likely been slightly redundant
-
How do you know I havn’t read enough of both sides ? Pretty arrogant to think Ive not just because I don’t agree with your way of thinking
-
My point is… until we know IF the likes of Prowse/Lavia/ABK/Salisu/Tella/Sulemana are definitely leaving then there is very little point buying replacements because; 1. They are on significant wages 2. If they remain they will likely form the backbone of the side as they are ‘arguably’ as good or better than any replacements we can get It sort of leaves us in a bit of a situation within which we don’t want to force a move, we want the best money available but also we need to know where we are so we can plan accordingly As for the whim of the manager, this is why we’ve needed the joined up thinking Ive been asking for for so long, and hopefully we’re getting this year
-
In what way ? I am slightly concerned we’ve seen no incomings so far but the only players we’ve lost so far are Ely and Orsic… so incomings will be heavily dependent on who we lose over the next couple of weeks I really couldn’t care less about the signing of Winks, he’ll be ok at this level but there’s a reason Sampdoria weren’t interested in making his loan permanent Coady I would have liked but there’s plenty of evidence that suggests he can’t play in a back 4 so Im not convinced it would have made a lot of sense for us I’d be far more concerned if Piroe goes to Leeds or Leicester
-
Neither us or Bournemouth were able to get a deal done so I’m assuming that he either didn’t have the stomach for it or there were further issues Not entirely sure why Chelsea are signing even more forward line players… it’s getting ridiculous
-
Yeah… I still find it crazy how anyone is able to carry out, effectively a paid euthanasia operation and nobody can oppose it
-
Im absolutely baffled at the sheer amount of evidence coming out that this was effectively doomed from the start, and that there were significant safety concerns from experts etc And yet it was just allowed to continue ? Presumably it was framed as a commercial operation ? So waivers or not it is at best criminal negligence surely Its truly awful that somebody could effectively ignore and completely disregard any engineering advice and sign offs yet still push on this without a government body halting the operation
-
Its a fairly easy ‘prediction’ that there would be a significant global crisis that he could ‘frame’ on some form of insidious global elite agenda, these people are pretty adept at hoodwinking the gullible into believing their far fetch theories, you just have to play on peoples psyche that all the reasons for whatever negatives they have in life is due to something other then their own choices As per the war diatribe… in every global conflict there has ever been, financial institutions and arms dealers have played both sides to some degree, its really not rocket science..

Realistic Fantasy…. Bird tells you before work that you’re in for a night of unbridled passion and eventually you make do, an hour later for a tired handjob whilst her hair dries

I had to do about 50 technical applications for an Engineering program, instead of paper CVs they were video applications You soon get quite efficient in the rejections

Got to admire the irony of the post really

Well… because its not an ‘agreement’ to sell… in your mind its a pre arranged transfer and its technically not that unless City want to take up the agreement, of which they.. according to reports, don’t want to do Therefore it shouldn’t really affect anybody else… if it was a global minimum release clause than of course it affects everyone else’s buy price but in this case if Arsenal etc attempted to discuss the 32m fee I’d hope we’d say ‘well it doesn’t apply to you… so give us what we want or walk away’ The lads one of the hottest prospects in world football and if it wasn’t for the fact City have Rodri then the transfer clause will likely have been exercised… to be honest it matters little to them abyway as with the sell on fee they should be able to get a decent return anyway Imho he is already one of the best No.6’s in the prem, he doesn’t have quite the same impact as Morgan did because he is tasked with everything (where as Morgan usually had an enforcer next to him). But make no mistake the lad looks like he is headed to the top, and the No.6 role is vital to most, if not all modern tactics
-
Leeds will be a force if they get things in place within good time, no way they don’t spend with new investment and they’ve already got a decent side capable of competing Leicester are a proper unknown, but I do think they struggle, reportedly have significant money troubles and are likely to lose their better players BUT I still see them portioning a good chunk of their transfer income to fund a promotion push… if they keep Vardy fit they’re more than capable
-
Because that price is contracted to only apply if City wish to enforce it. It genuinely doesn’t affect anybody else, so there are two options; 1. City don’t enforce the option, then Lavia is free to move to the highest bidder, we are under no obligation to sell for a contracted price to anybody else 2. City do attempt to enforce the price but others still want him… again, we are under no obligation to accept a lower fee from any other team, so if they wanted to get to speaking terms they’d need to do so on our terms It depends very much on factors such as our finacial health and whether Lavia wants to down tools.. if neither are an issue and Chelsea say… here is £32m take it or leave it Id be inclined to tell them to do one, we’re in control tbh… especially as long as City remain out of any proposals
-
That price is only for City though, and if they don’t want to accept it then its irrelevant Fact is they don’t need another No.6, they already have probably the worlds best Theres not many good young No.6’s, certainly not At reasonable prices… it’s basically Lavia or Ugarte and the latter will pitch up at PSG I suspect I always assumed we’d get north of £50m for Lavia, especially considering the 10-20% sell on fee and especially considering the team’s interested… I am surprised in Arsenals interest considering they seem to be pushing for Rice but I imagine Lavia also fits the HG qoutas required and is likely cheaper by a good 40m+

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES

My missus works in mental health and honestly the whole system is on its knees, I mean social care in general is absolutely fucked but mental health is even worse.. if you can’t be ‘fixed’ by a pill prescription then good luck… I know we’re nowhere near US levels of mental health societal breakdown but its slowly accelerating to that space We had a neighbour once that had a history of MH issues and self harm and we found her in a bad way one night, the police genuinely couldn’t care less and the NHS basically said it had to wait until the week (this was a Friday night)… she was threatening to kill herself… its all just dreadfully sad -
