Ahh yeah, definitely possible

Id say its hard to find anything to disagree with here but this is Saintsweb so can’t wait to hear the grumbles 😂

Im not kidding myself, Im saying what Ive heard and that is, to an extent, backed by the actual noises coming out of the club/athletic… that we are comfortable with not only the debt but with the cost of relegation Debt - I believe the situation is that this is factored into the purchase of the club, the reason its not been cleared is due to the early repayment fee applied when it was restructured Relegation - We have significant relegation clauses in many contracts, up to as much as 40% that will significantly reduce the impact, we are also, committed to bouncing back at the first opportunity and so will likely spend to replace whoever we lose To be honest we’re likely to lose JWP, Lavia, Salisu, Perraud, KWP, Ely, ABK at the very least and we aren’t at Leicester’s levels of being financially crippled so need a firesale (not just because of relegation btw, their ownership is skint) and as such thats likely 120m / 350k p/w savings at very modest calcs If course, if we fail at the first attempt we’ll have to start having hard conversations as a club but not yet Watford, Norwich, Burnley (to a level), Newcastle etc all didn’t need to have huge firesales… nor do we

He’s not going to City
-
Realistically they are almost a carbon copy of us but at different levels Upwardly mobile club that loses their rich owner who was central to feel good feeling in the club etc… replaced by family members who do not have the same bug, finances begin to tank and the club starts replacing stars with younger imports that don’t work out
-
Basically what I said earlier, both poor keepers but I think Baz is just young and out of form McCarthy just doesn’t have much going for him, an ok shot stopper but pretty poor in his other areas Baz ‘may’ be ok in the Championship but Id be a lot more comfortable with the pressure taken off his young shoulders
-
We have relegation clauses on, certainly most of the Gao days signings, not as sure on the SR ones but would be mad not too I honestly don’t think we’re as desperate, financially, as the likes of Leicester and even Leeds We’ll of course sell a great number, but Im not sure its due to starring at financial oblivion yet
-
I can wholeheartedly agree with this too tbf
-
For someone that has a lot of pops at the twitter youngsters you talk an incredible amount of shite James
-
I think I agree with this tbh, pretty much how I see it I do think it was avoidable this year but too much happened too soon, there was just far too many changes both in the backroom and on the pitch…. We spent good money, but as is a running theme over the last 5 years or so, our signings that HAD to impact the team immediately were very very poor.. we DESPERATELY needed a striker, we failed… All three manager decisions were a disaster one way or another too… they have to get it right this year and have a real go, anything outside of the playoffs is unnacceptable to me and even then it will depend on spend etc Yup… completely agree, Jones was never a good fit, at all, pretty much within the first couple of weeks there were whispers from the training ground that all was not well, not only did he fail from a PR perspective in yhe media but he got it wrong with the players too, whether it was training or his relationship Letting the team go on holiday too was a HUGE mistake, not sure exactly who signed that off but for me, we needed to get the squad galvanised and working towards the new tactical plans… we didn’t, and in the end it was a shit show…. I don’t agree with the changing of tactics every five minutes too, that doesn’t show me he is confident of what he is doing at all in fact it shows me he was flapping in the dugout as frantically as he was infront of the camera Metrics DO have a huge place in the game these days… but theres more to it than that, you need to do a proper assessment, and clearly we didn’t Selles ? Ive said before I think theres a good coach in there, and potentially a good manager, his appointment made a bit more sense to me but of course it turned out to be a huge mistake, I think in part he was just too close to the players as well as attempting to be far too passive

Plays their system too

The more Ive read on twitter and this forum is that the majority of football fans now are completely out of touch with reality, wanting them gone already… even though I think if we’d of remained under Gao this would/could be the end of us, or atleast our top table tenure… or would you rather have had a situation such as Leicester ? Seeing a managed decline of a club that has recently been in the Champions League? SR aren’t perfect, I do think they heavily dropped the ball, I do have close links with the club and did hear, as backed up by The Athletic that it got to a point where the boardrooms (new/old) were too far apart, I do however 100% agree that Rasmus and whoever advised him made far too many bad decisions, as well as Semmens… it felt like they bounced footballing decisions between the two boards instead of sorting this pre season We’re a fucking mess, but I have optimism that we are in the process of addressing this, Wilcox, hopefully, will enable us to build a footballing department that is focused and united, the proof of course will always be in the pudding of course, but it seems like, fir now, we have an ownership commitment to get us back up at the first time of asking and I feel we have to trust that… the other clubs that went down ? Leeds will likely have an ownership change this year so it remains to be seen where they end up Leicester have no money I honestly struggle to understand what some people want to be honest
-
He’s been with the Welsh FA this weekend but should be around soon I think
-
Us or Leeds I think we’ll see Leicester be taken apart and im not sure how financially able they are to rebuild Big draw though due to their recent history, Vardy will almost certainly stay and barring injuries would have a field day in the champ
-
Agree with the sentiments but I’d be absolutely shocked if Lavia is here come the start of the season let alone end of the transfer window, Perraud is likely gone too The rest of that 11 Im not sure but its a solid championship team with the right additions
-
What are you suggesting exactly?
-
Funny how people read things I read that as absolutely and completely none committed to anything, instead of outlying a plan he’s decided to waffle on about past glory in order to deflect from the revealing bit, that everyone knew, that they’re skint Without investment they’ll need an immediate return imo
-
I think it’ll be interesting to see where we go really, I’ll be happy to stick my colours to the mast abd say I think he’ll be a good appointment for us, if Im wrong Im wrong I certainly don’t expect him to be a bad as a lot of the more reactionary on here believe he’ll be
-
Ahh yes, he’s had surgery I think ‘perraud’ I put 2+2 together from some rumours and clearly made 8 there 😂 Yeah I like Mara, think there is a player in there potentially
-
This would have been written in under the Gao years tbf
-
Has he ? I actually missed that bit but will be interesting if some of the info comes out then, for instance Im fairly sure, like I stated, that all 3 french lads have effectively (but not officially) slapped in transfer requests and I ‘think’ was basically why Perraud was dropped from the squad last few weeks Shame as all 3 CDAJ in the Champ but its not really the end of the world Id rather have players that want to be here
-
Im not completely sure what the sell on is, but I think its active now, and Im fairly sure its 40m next year but that has been influenced by what Ive read, Im not sure on figures Id say we’ll cash in over the next few weeks tbh theres plenty of interest
-
I would say the thinking is, they don’t want to be here in the champ and will look to play maybe back in Ligue 1 with a view to returning if we’re promoted Its not necessarily as simple as we own them we’ll keep them, theres going to be some internal pressures, both tactically and agent driven… as well as the fact we simply have a swollen squad So Id expect our better players to leave but I don’t (from what I hear but obviously the proof will be in the pudding) expect them to leave cheaply or easily
-
FWIW we ‘might’ end up losing Mara and Sulemana on loan deals as opposed to permanent deals, atleast for the first year Shame as Id very much like to keep Sulemana TBH I think we’ll lose about 12 to 15 potentially, all in, but the positives are that I believe we are ready to spend our way back to the premier league… the negatives are we tried to spend our way to stay in it and fucked it up…. So who knows 😂
-
I think they’re hoping for a bundle deal on the plane
