Yes, Guly did miss a chance, but I think you'll find that Rodriguez also missed a couple of equally good ones in the first half, and he didn't even get his efforts on target. It seems that people are all too quick to criticise Guly, but conveniently forget the mistakes of more "fashionable" players. Guly's link up play and touch was excellent when he came on, and he totally justified Adkins decision to bring him on in my opinion. Not having a go at Rodriguez by the way, who I thought had a good game, but should have had at least one goal with the chances he had, and was tiring towards the end.

I'm sorry but I don't understand why it's a bigger risk to play Kelvin Davis, who's been our regular keeper throughout 2 successful promotion seasons, than to play Gazzaniga, who last season was playing in League 2, and has made 2 glaring errors in the last 2 games?

It was a great cross from Kebe to be fair. Don't think Kelvin would have made it if he'd come for it, as it was whipped in too fast.

Guly created 2 goals and scored 1 in the Coventry game, didn't he? If that's just "OK", then we need more "OK" players in the team.

Sounds like a decent performance, but unable to get the all important first goal that would have opened the game up for us. Lambert's form definitely a concern now though. Our bench today showed that we need at least one more scoring threat to come in soon. Anyone know where Connolly was today? Sounds like a game that was made for him to come on and get the breakthrough.

We'll never know now will we, as we got shot of our manager after 3 games of the season. What we do know is that we got 83 points last season with Pardew in charge, so he can't have been that bad.

If Cortese wants Adkins, he should be prepared to pay compensation. End of. If the boot was on the other foot and another club wanted our manager, I'm sure that is what we would expect and demand. I can't really believe that what S****horpe are asking for is a huge amount of money, so it concerns me a bit that Cortese is so reluctant to pay it - may be our financial situation going forward is not as rosy as we've been led to believe ?

But who's to say that those 2 prem managers would do a better job? At least Adkins has a proven record at this level.

Sorry, but no-one with any sense would sack their manager based on results after just 3 league games (one of which we won 4-0!) If Cortese was unhappy with Pardew at the end of last season (which he had no reason to be based on performance), he should have had the bottle to get rid of him then. Having to get a new manager in now, at the end of the window, is the worst of all worlds IMO.

Rediculous decision by Cortese - how anyone can defend it, I do not know. We were strong favourites in my eyes to get promoted with Pardew in charge. Now, who knows?
