  1. I wish I was as popular as you.
  2. I have a Southampton FC Union flag from years ago, but it hasn't seen the light of day for years. BTW it's only a Union Jack when it's flying on a ship. Sorry to be all know-it-all but it's a pet hate of mine when a Union Flag is called a Union Jack.
  3. The plot thickens... Either Baj is wrong or ART is going cuckoo. Hmmm.
  4. Personally i'd have a two pronged approach. A benefits cap and a rent cap.
  5. I think it's good that we have a government that is finally dealing with Labours benefits slobs.
  6. Now that is what you call a brilliant Imperial flag.
  7. I like the Imperial flag.
  8. The daughter of a senior manager posted images of herself flicking her bean on a dating site. I dunno if he ever found out, but everyone at work saw them.
  9. I envy you that, I wish I could afford to do that.
  10. Agree with ART about the rail idea. It sounds a lot of hassle when hiring a car is cheap if you shop around and take out excess insurance independantly (I have annual cover through http://www.insurance4carhire.com/index.asp?subrefID=&curID=1&langID=1&refID=100 and if you ring them up and tell them where you've had a quote for 39 quid they will charge 37 quid instead of 49 ). Parking at hotels is the issue though, but with research this issue can be sorted. With train travel you are always gonna be dictated to by a timetable and sat about on platforms and then you'll need taxis from the station to the hotel or you'll have to lug your cases around, wheras when you drive you can set off when you want and enjoy the drive and stop off and take some photo's and pull into small restaurants for a meal en route etc. The roads in Spain are dream with hardly traffic on them so unlike here it's relaxing driving and part of the holiday.
  11. I use Isango to book excursions and entry to attractions before I go and have no problems. Used them to book a guided tour of the alhambra including pick up from the hotel. http://www.isango.com/spain-tours/granada-tours/alhambra-palace-tour_14660
  12. Spain is great if you like the tapas culture with historic buildings thrown in. Don't know much about the trains though as I drive.
  13. The problem with internet collecting is the price. Things tend to achieve their market value or above (with exceptions granted but this isn't that frequent). I do enjoy looking round second hand shops, antiques shops, car boot sales, charity shops (although they tend to overprice now) for little gems that have been underpriced. That said i've just purchased an 18th C brass chamberstick (side ejector) for a tenner online with no one else bidding.
  14. You would throw a wobbly (and rightly so) if someone used derogatory terms to describe coloured people, yet you freely use derogatory anti disabled terms. I agree with LGTL.
  15. Reading this thread is there any song that can be sung? Noise is noise and the biggest problem isn't what is sung, but the fact that our away support is so quiet now. It used to be good when we had a smaller following because those who went then were passionate.
  16. Considering they were the better side a draw is a good result for us.
  17. nice one riiiiiiiiiiiiicky.
  18. Have you been away?
  19. "Tadanari taller than I expected" tut tut Dave.
  20. Nice one David Cameron. http://www.chronicle.gi/headlines_details.php?id=23837 Nice to see he's royally p/ssed off the Spaniards. http://www.chronicle.gi/headlines_details.php?id=23844 This is just the attitude we need to take when dealing with the continentals. We are Great Britain - We do what we want.
  21. Here you go Jill. You could not only collect but make your own. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-OCELOT-LEOPARD-FUR-COAT-JACKET-1930S-SIZE-14-20-VINTAGE-RETRO-/330675302704?_trksid=p4340.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DDLSL%252BSIC.NPJS%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BUA%26otn%3D10%26pmod%3D280745870508%252B280745870508%26po%3D%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D5928673804013975846
  22. Wow, that's a long way to travel. I know of lot's of fans that travel from outside the county including as far north as the midlands. The price of fuel/travelling is now getting ridiculous. And then what do the club do - they whack on a ticket tax or put the price up to pay on the day. They even hold back selling away tickets on matchdays just so they can rake in another booking fee.
  23. Yes you're right it was season ticket holders. With rising travel costs those old season ticket holder numbers will have diminished. This will have put these people in the pay as you go section. With the ticket tax and the matchday premium these fans that live a distance from the ground are the ones who suffer the most - a double whammy when you also factor in rising fuel prices. It's no surprise to me that our attendances are lower than many think they should be. I'm glad they are low because it highlights the the negative impact of the ticket tax/matchday premium tax.
  24. I have a thing for 20 pence pieces. I always check them looking one with a missing date. I purposely put a pound coin in the tea machine at work so it gives change in 20p's.
  25. Red, white and blue; what does it mean to you? Surely you're proud, shout it aloud, "Britons, awake!" The empire too, we can depend on you. Freedom remains. These are the chains Nothing can break.
