Yes he was. Best player we had in our st marys era was Chris Marsden though. He wasn't that good but he was comitted and he had the ability to get all the other players playing. As soon as he left the decline started. I think with lee barnard we have a vaguely similar character, but Marsden was special and he would have been perfectly fine in any prem team in his day for the qualities he instilled in others.

ha ha, indeed - that's me. In seriousness though (yeh right) block 41 did used to be a good mix of diehards of mainly 25 - 40 age range. Of course relegation from the prem killed it just like everywhere else but it was alright and not like block 42.

Me too. I'm only have go at the d1ckhead elements in the Northam (and when i say d1ckheads i mean the type of "fan" that slags off his own teams fans). Block 41 is where I consider my area to be and the last time i sat there (exeter on boxing day last season) it was a full house and i kid you not there a 5 or 6 teens in my row led by a fat kid decorated from head to toe in colours and he spent the whole match loudly announcing his views on new fans, and complaining that the sining was **** cos of the new fans etc.

I know all these cherry picked bits, but that is all it is. I don't have a problem with Islam in Turkey. I went on a coach trip and bought some crap from outside a mosque because the people were friendly and didn't hassle me for a sale. All the Turks in the shops etc never left you alone, but up in the mountains it's was a really cool day out. That said I do have a problem with Islam in general in the UK and that is that unlike in Turkey it's not a disciplined faith and the reason it's not a disciplined faith is because the Muslim community choose not to steward their own people. Islam, more than mot other faiths has a devout following thus it should theoretically be an easy faith to manage. I firmly believe that the muslim clerics, elders and community leaders in this country are not doing enough to manage their extreme elements. That said some are doing their best, but unlike with the other faiths christian, sikh, hindu, judaism that live in harmony with a solid ruling elite that believe in british values - democracy, freedooms etc, anti western (anti British) feeling isn't roundly condemned by those in charge in Muslim communities. Maybe they are scared to do so in some cases, but again this all comes back to the actions of those at the top. .
