But they still don't have to scrimp like working class people do when Labour ruin the economy. Therefore they can afford to support their misguided ideologies because they'll never have to suffer the pain of repairing an economy post a Socialist government. Yes they'll lose money, but they'll still be able to put petrol in their jag.

That's all very noble, but it's misguided to vote Labour because Labour always ruin the economy. They mean well, but they always end up indebting the nation trying to achieve their objectives. Voting Labour is like giving money to an African aid charity - it provides a momentary respite but it doesn't fix the problem and after a while the money runs out. The way to raise the poorest people out of poverty is through free market capitalism. Be it in the UK or Africa charity isn't the answer, the answer is encouraging entrepreneurs and investors to create jobs through tax breaks etc. If the rich get richer that means the poor get richer, but under Socialism if the rich are less rich and the poor are poorer it's mission achieved so long as the gap is smaller. I don't have a chip on my shoulder and i'd rather see the rich richer and the poor less poor. Margaret Thatcher sums it up perfectly.

Let's hope we don't hear any renditions of this. Leeds sing it all the time in the pub before games (even when they're not playing Man Utd).
-
I wouldn't say they're hypocritical - just very very thick.
-
The Man Utd fans I go up to Old Trafford with are a good bunch and it's always a great **** up. Some of the banter on the train on the way up is funny as ****. That said I was a bit uncomfortable when most of them left the pub after the game looking for Southampton fans, but as a guest I was made to feel very welcome.

It's easy being a Socialist when you're well off because you can afford for them to screw up the economy.

£49 (plus VAT) + kids under 12 free = a council estate day out. I have no sympathy for you GM because you should have envisaged the scenario.

Agree about showing some control. And plan to sit in the Northam/Kingsland corner so not in a provacative stand. As for feeling the same if it was the scum - don't be silly.
-
And after that fergie promised never to play a weakened side in the FA cup. If we're going to beat them we'll have to raise our game and hope the gods are on our side, but that's how it should be.

I've been asked to get a ticket by a Man Utd fan, and he's always got me in at old trafford with one of his groups season tickets so i'll do my best to get him a ticket and sit with him. I do the same at Elland Road with some Leeds supporting friends and return the favour at St Marys. I don't see what the problem is with away fans sitting with home fans.

Is this the latest leftie pet project to make their sad lives worthwhile? They've saved the whales, saved the rain forests and saved the planet, and now they want to save us from the brain numbing tedium of Verbals posts. For the first time ever they may have a worthy crusade.

I can see you've got the measure of Delldays and Alpine Saint.

When I was a kid we were taught proper English.

Not at all. It's perfectly reasonable to expect cortese to wish to keep prices for the fixture low after the fuss he made about the Shrewsbury game and insulting way he treated that club.
-
You said it.

Think you'll find most one party states are Communist. (Socialist with tanks).
-
Not really because "power crazed mod" () decided it wasn't worthy of a thread.
-
The principle is the same wherever the game is played.
-
There is everything wrong about it if he decides to hike prices now. No matter how you might try to dress it up it would hypocritical. To STFC we were a big draw and the gate receipts from such a draw keep clubs like that affloat. Man Utd have put us in the same position Shrewsbury were in with the prospect of a bumper pay day. So if we raise prices now it's no different to STFC wanting to cash in then.
-
Cortese has already made a big deal about wanting to "reward our most loyal fans" when he publicly went to war with shrewsbury who wanted to cash in - "a move designed only to line their pockets." These are Cortese's own words. He was extremely rude to STFC and many on here backed his stance. If he now does the complete opposite it will speak volumes.

On this page there are two threads about guly, two threads about Lallana, two threads about Adkins. So why can't there be one thread about allocation and another thread about pricing?
-
The other threads were about the allocation of the tickets, my thread was about the pricing in relation to the Shrewsbury precedent. Two separate subjects.

Sin in this life and you'll come back as a spastic like Robin.
