Time will tell i guess, but when ML was there on Sunday with his camera like a kid in a sweet shop he was a genuine guy.

They'd struggle to get that far with me because when i've ever had phone calls from the bank i always refuse to discuss matters over the phone. If a matter is important they will write to you and this is what i tell them before ending the call.

What got the alarm bells ringing for me about this silverspoons thing was the oversell - they were just too pushy for my liking. I'm surprised nickh fell for it.

I respect him for this. I' much rather have a humble billionaire like Markus than a big headed millionaire like Simon Jordan. In a way he reminds me of the genuine rich owners like Jack Walker and Sir John Hayward.
-
I simply thought he was dignified in winning. Showed respect to the Carlisle manager etc. Wasn't a big head.

Just watched the highlights of the game and for me the best moment of the whole day was seeing Markus with his camera at the end. We've got the best owner in the land. Happy Birthday Markus. You're a legend.

Thankfully i never bumped into you Chavs at the hotel. Did you have the buffet breakfast? I thought it was really good - eat as much as you want so had about 10 rashers of bacon, 3 sausages, scrambled egg, beans, followed by cereal, grapefruit and orange segments, and washed down with tea and orange juice. Good value I thought.

Mildly amusing, but i'm sure the lefties will find it hilarious.

I recently had one of those emails from Nigeria. I think it was hypochondriac that posted up an exchange of funny emails that some had with one of these conmen. Should i or shouldn't i?

Flags - not a problem, mexican waves - not a problem, adults with face paint/wigs/w******d hats - weird but not a problem, but those ****ing annoying air horns did get on my nerves. Not so much in the ground but when some ****s start blowing them in the pub (and i've got a mild hangover) it's a bloody annoying.

Well said.

Sort of agree, but he could only say what he'd planned to say if you know what i mean. If say Ken Clarke had been the Tory chancellor then him and Cable would've destroyed Darling. Darling was a nervous wreck and thus there for the taking.
-
I think Saints Aid was different people organising - could be wrong though. Also Saints Aid was a pretty sad state of affairs and not for individual profit - basically a daft idea that attracted the numbers that i'd have expected yet the organisers didn't.
-
Conclusion: All pretty lame. Vince Cable came out best (as expected) but at the end of the day the Liberals can pretty much say what they like because they'll never be in a position to be held to account. Darling struggled and was clearly nervous - although tried to make a few funny comments which were pretty lame. George Osbourne basically came accross as a nob as expected.

Or maybe i wasn't that desperate for a slash as i walked by the local night club complete with gang stood outside. I just kept thinking about how David Niven walked when being surrounded by the boxers in 55days days at Peeking.
-
Agree, the gangs that were lurking about (and i'm not exagerating this) at 3 a.m were afro caribean. At the bust stop one came up to me and asked for a light. I told him to keep it as i'd got a spare one.

Lap Land New Forest springs to mind.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harlesden Harlesden is one of London's "crime capitals", with its high crime and murder rates, and known for its Yardie gang culture, the area previously topped the league for the highest murder rate in Britain.

Did anyone else have the pleasure of visiting this gem of an area? I needed a slash on the way back from central London and had to get off the N18 nightbus here around 3 am. I'm not exagerating when I say I was scared and I genuinely thought I was going to get mugged or stabbed.

I think you misjudge "middle england" (i hate that term). When Thatcher came to power she got to grips with the Socialist mess and there was much crying from Union types, but she got re-elected because the silent majority knew that what she had done had been the right thing to do.

I know who you're on about, he looks about 10 but is really 20 something.
