  1. Mainly, what is the point of a thread on this?
  2. No. Thats not how I see it. Most realised it'd be a weaker team last night, contrary to your suggestion in the opening post.
  3. Great picture that.
  4. Loads of posts from lots of different posters saying they were surprised we didn't play more first teamers ? I must have missed all these posts.
  5. Would agree with your assessments of who did and didn't play well. Reed and Chambers definitely positives from the game. Lee terrible. CBs and Cork below par. Ramirez his usual frustrating self!
  6. Thats not his point.
  7. Were there loads of posts from people expecting us to be full strength. I can't remember seeing many.
  8. Not necessarily, always room for upsets/favourable draw. For those that say the league is the be all and end all, what would you say if we played a weakened side in the 1/4 of the FA Cup?
  9. The annoying thing was Sunderland were completely there for the taking, a couple more first teamers involved and we'd have turned them over. Who wants to win a trophy anyway? Surprisingly top night out in Sunderland made the trip worthwhile. Sunderland will be relegated this season, such a poor team.
  10. Good news. Not enough boozers close to the ground.
  11. Why not cut the price of Chelsea tickets in half and take the whole allocation rather than just a little corner.
  12. That's the approach Man Utd and Liverpool have taken.
  13. You think it's amusing that away games will be more expensive for Saints fans than other clubs? Nice.
  14. It's not a tricky one at all is it? Sunderland away today (many having booked for the original date), Sunderland away in the league early kick off, Hull away on a Tuesday night, Barnsley away earlier in the cup, Everton away on the 28th Dec. If our away support is that amazing, why don't we take our full allocation at so many away games?
  15. You must remember, this is 'The Southampton Way'. We lead and others follow.
  16. You couldn't make it up! Has any other Premier League club used the money in this way?
  17. So, on that basis you'd be happy to sacrifice the occasional league point for a good shot at a cup. I agree.
  18. Cup win and 6th for me. See, it is really easy to answer these questions.
  19. It's not a ridiculous propostion, just quite a straight forward question to answer, not hard.
  20. Basic opportunity cost principle isn't it. It's reasonable to think we could have got more of a return from our investment than we have to date.
  21. So you would rather finish 7th and win nothing, than 8th and win a cup? Mental.
  22. Exactly that, mad that anyone would think differently.
  23. That answer doesn't make sense.
  24. No need to get angry just because your worship of a Champions League place at all costs is at odds with most normal Saints fans that would like to actually try and win a trophy.
  25. How likely do you think it is that we will finish in the top 4 this season?
