  1. Fair play for your honesty, I would have lied rather than appearing to be one of those posters that picks players at random based on a couple of quotes on a message board.
  2. Two cracking away days. Always enjoyed going to Oldham, a 'proper' away day if you will. Would have the 6-0 as the best away trip of last year.
  3. The West Coast mainline has only just finished being upgraded and has knocked a good 50mins off getting to Manchester and Liverpool from London.
  4. Agreed. It has obvious plus points, but that sort of serious money could really make an impact elsewhere.
  5. I know millions commute in every day. Just don't expect this high speed line to be affordable for every day commuters. It'll be used by those on business expenses etc in my opinion.
  6. You said it would make a 'huge difference to capacity and business.' Relative to the money its costing it really won't.
  7. Genuine question. How many minute of football have you seen Harlee Dean play?
  8. Don't worry, consider yourself well and truly 'counted out'.
  9. Depends who you class as promotion contenders, but I think Leeds have got Townsend on loan from Spurs. Good signing.
  10. You are by far the most humourless poster on this board and that is saying something.
  11. You think ordinary people will be able to use this to commute between Birmingham and London?
  12. Really! Wow! Thanks for explaining that, we had no idea
  13. Trust me, it won't. It would be great for me and help guarantee work for nearly another 20 years, but its definitely not worth the money or even the environmental impact.
  14. If you booked in advance and used a young persons rail card you could do it forr about £30/40 return.
  15. For the same reason that all sorts of businesses offer discounts for buying in advance.
  16. You can currently do Leeds/Manc/L'Pool in a touch over 2 hours. That's quick enough. Will knocking a few mins off it really make that much difference? I travel by train all the time and generally speaking its good enough, a bit of money pumped into bits of the current network would be far more worthwhile.
  17. I work in the industry, so should be completely for it, but it is a waste a money and will have a serious detrimental effect on a cracking bit of the English countryside (the Chilterns).
  18. I'm not a huge fan of having a minutes silence or applause (even worse) in general. However, All Saints Day makes sense as it is an opportunity for people to take a minute out to remember stuff relevant to them and prevents the culture of having a minutes silence every other week. Remembrance Sunday is a bit exceptional as it is remembrance of those that chose to make the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf. But in general they are used far too much these days, all as a result of the Princess Diana stuff back in the 90s!
  19. Then why don't we have a minutes silence every home game? Why should those that died on the Titanic deserve to be remembered anymore than anyone else that has died in the last 100 years? And if it is so important to people what difference will standing silent in a football ground for a minute do for anyone? Far more relevant and worthwhile community causes out there to focus on.
  20. A minutes silence at a Saints game for the victims of the titanic would be embarrasing and cringeworthy.
  21. We could "sink" a few of these to mark the occasion? http://www.titanicbrewery.co.uk/
  22. Yes, will have a look, but what would you suggest the club should actually do for this?
  23. How do you think the club should commemorate the occasion?
  24. This. Tragic things happen every day, people dying etc, I don't understand the constant need these days to force people into remembering things and have minutes silences etc. If something is important or of interest to them, they will remember it regardless.
