I'm generally not one to have a go at refs, but D'Urso was utter, utter, s**t. Having said that, we do tend to give away too many soft free kicks at times, made it easy for Brighton with their gamesmanship. Also, Lambert gets battered every game, yes he does give a bit back, but I can see why he might get frustrated.
-
Does anyone actually think this is a "Commercial" signing?
-
Don't think anyone is saying there is anything wrong with your new ground, just that there is nothing particularly special about it and doesn't live up to any of the hype. I can see why Brighton fans would be excited at just having their own, proper ground though.
-
Why is there always such a rush to get these threads going before the last game has barel finished?
-
Out of the new grounds out there, what do you consider decent? They're all s**te in my eyes.
-
I ordered a Steak and Ale Pie and they gave me some sort of Spicy Chicken number. C**ts. Won't let them get me like that again.
-
If you decide to "unblock" any of them, could you just ask, how much "soul" their ground has, what form this "soul" can be found in and where does it originate from? Can't believe any of you have the patience, I wouldn't manage it.
-
Depends which level you look at it from. Yes, we had a bit more cutting edge first half. Still not enough in my eyes, against what was a poor Brighton team. Still the same problems in my eyes of lacking pace, back-up for Lambert, yes lallana looked a bit better in the first half, but in my eyes, he's still not doing enough. And forgetting the back up for Lambert question, just how weak is our bench? One point from a run of away fixtures of Bristol City, Donny, Skates and today really ain't great.
-
Oh and relative to Harding being "slow", Fox isn't exactly "quick". Don't see him bombing to the bye-line and back like Richardson do you? And, you're right, he doesn't give away free-kicks like Harding (who is f*****g clumsy), because he stands off all the time and doesn't make a challenge!
-
Er, that's sort of my point. I don't particularly rate Harding. We've spent a fair it on a new left-back by Championship standards and he my eyes he hasn't provided enough of an improvement, relative to the money spent on him.
-
Exactly. Statistically, there has to be lots of people in that crowd that haven't been going regularly to Brighton home games for a fair old while.
-
Yep, not a million miles from the Ricoh. After all the hype, I tought it was rubbis. Not easy to get to, nothing around there, over-crowded concourse. Decent enough view. Not much noise. Doesn't look anything special, inside or out. Have they really spend £90m on all that? Where did they get that much cash from?
-
Question; Given the "strength" of our squad, should we not be seeing more of a push from our development and maybe even youth players to be getting involved and making a name for themeselves? Most player that go on to really make it are pushing into the first team squad by the age of 17 or 18.

Been banging on for ages what a waste of money Fox is. Think it was something like £1.85m, few hollywood type cross field balls catch the eye of some, but he aint up to much otherwise. Puts in as many bad crossed as good ones as well.

Ha ha, hark at all the threads, posts and panic on here tonight. Anyone who's been going away from home all season could see this happening, we've struggled away from home, everyone is just getting excited, as now the home form aint there to back us up. Contrary to general opinion, I don't think we were great before Lambert got sent off. Obviously that massively didn't help, same goes for an awful ref and lino, plus a goal was disallowed, but we struggled to get going against a weak Brighton side. Hard to pinpoint today what went wrong, but some of the same old themes; No decent back up for Lambert. No goal threat from midfield without Chaplow. Shoot AT Davis and he's in a world of trouble (he seems to find it easier to tip over when stretching etc). Lallana struggling, as he has for a fair old while now. Look at what we had to bring off the bench. Few other questions. What can be done about Lambert getting battered every game by Centre backs? Yes, he gives some back and it is part of the game, but he gets pushed and pulled all over at times and gets nowt from the ref and its that overall frustration that led to the sending off. Davis - Is he really the answer long-term? Ain't like he's got an immediate threat at the moment for his position? Positives - Perfect time for a good long break from league games, couldn't have worked better in that regard really. What is all the hype about the Amex? S**t to get to. No pubs around it. Looks cr@p from the outside. Just a regular concourse inside. Apart from the stand on our left, looked and sounded like being at Colchester away. Cheeky c**ts had been taking the p**s out of St marys, I'd been expecting a lot more from their new place. Our away support the usual quiet, half hearted effort from middle aged blokes, women and kids. I know that offends, but its the truth and its frustrating.

Its a hard one to call. Either you can get a cab up to one of the half-decent pubs nearish the ground, then pay for the bus back, problem is, that works out quite expensive, as the cost os a single on the bus back is nearly the same as a return would be and the cabs cost a fair bit, especially if there is just a couple of you in it. Or just go to one of the crappy pubs in town, like Spoons, and get a return on the bus, which is probably what my lot will do this time.

Cheers. £27 a bit steep, but guess that's teh going rate these days.
-
Open/general sale? Prices?
-
I can't find any article about ticket details for Forest, anyone got a link? Or copy and paste details?
-
Davis should have certainly done better for the first shot for their goal. He'd shown before that, that if tested he will spill it back into the 6 yard box.
-
They are out on the p**s pretty regularly to be fair, more than I'd have expected modern day players to do. I'm sure there are plenty of people better qualified in Sports Science etc than I am at Saints, so I guess if its alright with them.......
-
I know the argument is "We're top of the league, so what does it matter" and "they're young lads, so should be able to have a good drink", but in this day and age, when there is so much emphasis on recovery times after games, rehydration and having that extra 1% over opponents, I'm surprised that our players are out on the **** so often and we're not just talking a couple of quiet pints here, but necking back Jaeger bombs etc in the early hours of the morning, especially after the Barnard and Seaborne incidents, you would have thought they'd have been encouraged to just knock it on the head.
-
What are you on about?
-
I thought we were the better team, particularly in the first half, but lost the game in centre mid. Where Cork and Schneirderlin ran the game against Palace, they could barely get a couple of passes going 2nd half yesterday. Also, we struggle to convert good positions round the 18 yard box into clear cut chances, been a bit of a problem all season, but came home to roost yesterday.
-
Cheers. So basically this is going to allow wealthier clubs to further domiante those less well off. A bad move for English football as a whole. How many clubs can afford £2.3m+ a year on an academy?
