Are people still waiting for Pompey ticket email?
Sour Mash replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
What an absolute shambles. Why are we pumping money into stuff like the Saints Foundation, when we can't even get the every day basics of running a football club right. -
Yes it's still relatively early days, but I don't rate SDR, enthusiastic headless chicken would be the best way to describe him.

Time To Drop Fox. Harding To Start V Skates?

They're both s**t. Neither really good enough. -
This. What do the Mods on here actually do for their money these days? This thread should be locked/deleted.
-
You're the one that piped up and started mentioning me, I've never heard of you before. I'd stick to being a non-entity pal, it suits you.
-
Yep, I bet there'll be a massive crowd in tomorrow. Also on that "Brighton Sold Out" news story, why do they mention that block 42 is open tomorrow? Its always open for league games, utter cretins.
-
People that go and do that are utterly sad c**ts.
-
Selevtive quoting? I said with an increased capacity. Not hard to understand is it?
-
Just read through your posts, you're probably one of the most boring, unnoticed people on here. Go back to sleep you cretin.
-
As I jsut said, I can see the reasons for differing appeal between the two trips, just not that massive level in difference in the demand. I reckon it'll actually be a pretty rubbish away for one reason or another, but can see why its popular this time around.
-
And Wycombe is a newish ground. I bet you're the sort of charachter that have been to about 20 different grounds.
-
Er it is a bit. I see the reasons why both would have differing appeal to people, but wouldn't have expected such extremes in demand as that. Plus was more laughing at our ticket office than our support in this instance.
-
It was only announced yesterday? Imagine if you'd been away for a couple of days, come back and check Saints news and realised you've missed out, ha!
-
We can sell 2.5k tickets for Brighton in a day, but not do 3k for the Skates in a month long sales process, got to laugh.
-
Shows you how much attention you pay to all this. Swindon is one of the louder places we've been to in the lower leagues. Oldham weren't too bad either. Scunny is a newish ground. Apart from that you're spot on.

I'm still not sure if they'll bother even making us go through the turnstyles anyway. As long as you're on a bus, I'd really expect match tickets not to really be a problem. Can definitely imagine them getting the numbers wrong though. -
I do, as does everyone I know that was a regular there, the only thing it lacked was capacity. Not being funny, but you just seem in a mood for arguing for the sake of it, go back to going round in circles with Turkish talking about our Prem crowds against Bolton or something.
-
I've heard that argument. I don't care. I'd rather have a ground like that than all the money given to Man City
-
I guess they maybe look at Man City and think they were at least the equal to them if not a bigger club only a few years ago. But what's happened at City and Chelsea are real exceptions to the rule. What do most of your bluenose mates actually want to happen to Everton? Would they like to be like Newcastle? Leeds? Villa?
-
Everton don't know how good they've got things. They've been run really well and could have easily been a Leeds or Newcastle. They play in one of the last great old football grounds left in this country, see some half decent football, usually involving one or two local lads brought through the ranks, pay cheap prices compared to others in the Prem and a good settled squad of players and management team. Who are they aspiring to be like? If they look at clubs a similar size to them, have they done much more? Villa? Even Tottenham with all the money they have spent haven't achieved much more and their fans are probably paying a good 50% more then Everton supporters for the privilege.
-
How much (obviously its a rough guess) do you think Saints would have to spend on their squad to turn it into a Champions League level squad? Just out of interest.

I reckon it won't be far off 40/50% of people that won't have tickets in their name, they can't. I'd imagine its a case of turn up at St Marys (or Winchester/Bursledon), find your bus, show ticket to get on bus. Sit on bus. Half way into journey steward comes along and hands out a ticket per person. I'm sure someone, somewhere will have mis-counted though. -

But you're suggesting they're going to try to use some sort of "justification", my point is that they've now said "all taken up", they can't then turn around and say the 2nd ballot took too long. I think we'll have sold enough for it to be very difficult to tell in the ground if there was a complete sell out or not, with a load of stewards on either side of us squeezing us in, but the fact they have never announced our allocation, never said we've sold out, I haven't heard of anyone actually being unsuccessful, suggests strongly that we haven't sold out and generally our ticket office don't have a clue! -
Behave. It is FAR easier getting a club of Saints size from League One back to the top of the Championship, then it is to get such a club competing for Champs League places. Football is a funny old game and none of us never know what will happen in the future, but I reckon if you're expecting Champions League football at St Marys in the near future you're going to be sorely disappointed.
-
I was thinking that. I reckon after the game everyone will just pile back on the buses on a first come first served basis with their mates, can't see them being that tightly managed after the game as long as the buses aren't too crowded.
