So you don't think, for example, that those from parts of Africa and their descendants are not genetically pre-disposed to running faster over short-distances than those from say Eastern Asia? You think that’s purely cultural?
-
Do you believe that certain races are better are certain things than others? Is it racist to believe that certain races have different things that they are strong/weak at?
-
What I never understand is why racism is seen as such a bad offence compared to other forms of other forms of discrimination and within the law? For example, there is a significant difference in the sentencing between assault and racially aggravated assault. If I was to be attacked, I wouldn't really care why it was done.

Yes. It is boring, meaningless, doesn't actually say or tell us anything new or confirm anything. Fans will always love posts/threads speculating about how much we might have to spend and that we're "aiming for the top 4", sounds great doesn't it. But thanks for telling us about your lunch meeting.
-
None of that is really new, meaningful, or interesting though is it? Just stuff that has been posted on here many times already in the last few months.
-
Not really remotely comparable. Adkins vs Ferguson? Or compare the way the various successful Liverpool managers throughtout their 20 year + period of success were viewed in comparison to Ferguson.
-
Nothing to do with hating winners. I hate them because thye're thebiggest bunch of horrible, arrongant c***s, something that runs from their manager, right through to a large amount of their support. Hope Barca tear them apart and I don't even particularly like Barca.
-
Agreed. How the f**k he is a knight of the realm. Horrible attitude. C'mon Barca!
-
Maybe. And I can't be @rsed to check, but did they sell out for many games this season just gone?
-
This. I admire the continued optimism and enthusiasm of some on this thread, but they've been getting away with it for far too long for me to be able to derive any enjoyment out of this saga at all.
-
Wish I'd spotted this thread earlier, full of classic ammusing posts like this
-
No there wasn't. Think there was something like less than 30 people who actually did this.
-
Probably £500 for a season ticket and about £30/35 for a match ticket would be my limit. Anything above that is just starting to take the p**s!
-
Been to Leeds loads of times and never really enjoyed it. Agree re M'Boro, but I always like a day on the train to the North-East, so I'd prob do that one. Millwall away is a pain getting in and out, but London Bridge is still decent for a drink and its never too expensive for a ticket there.
-
Gave loads a swerve the season we went down and will hopefully not bother with a fair few this coming year, Coventry, Brum, Derby, Ipswich, Swansea (potentially), Leeds, Peterborough (potentially and now they no longer have that class away terrace) all s**te away days that I'm not too bothered about doing again, especially if they're charging £25+ for the privilege.
-
I've heard people say that for at least the last 15 years. I remember people saying they'd never pay more than £25 for A top-flight game back in the mid-90s. Despite the "current economic climate", can't really see too many signs of anything changing soon.
-
Never got us relegated and took us to a Wembley Cup Final. That wasn't too bad an achievement considering his reign coincided with English football becoming even more money orientated, with saints being further left behind in that regard.
-
Fair play, but you could have done it for a quarter of the price if forward planning was still alive in your heart.......
-
And last time we were in the Championship, Palace and Ipswich were £30 for adults if I remember correctly, sod paying that to go to those dull s**tholes!
-
Yes. That's why I would say its not a case of "believing in something", but believing in the possibility of there being far more for us to learn and understand about the creation of the universe than we currently do, whether its called "God" etc is neither here nor there, but the idea that history and science shows us we are constantly learning more and more about how the world came about, who is to say what our understanding will be in 50/100/200 years. I don't understand how someone can be certain either way and cannot be curious and open minded as to what was before the big bang (for example), what created that and what was before that. I agree with many on here, that "religion" is a lot of absolute garbage though.
-
No. Who knows? Just that there is little point is applying the most basic of our everyday concepts to, something that is possibly far and away more complex than we can currently imagine. You're right though, there are too many questions which we are highly unlikely to ever know or understand in our lifetime, if tehre was a "creator" who/what creted that and so on and so forth..................
-
No. Just saying that its a bit pointless applying every day rules and concepts to something that if it did exist could well be beyond our understanding. Its like a number of posts on this thread saying stuff like "well if God is a creator he's made loads of mistakes", it sounds like you're talking about a bloke sitting in-front of a computer trying to put together a website. Whichever way you come at this subject, it has to be with an open mind and the belief that, as both history and science have continually shown us, there is so much for mankind to still learn and understand. Think about how many things we take for granted today, that just 100 years ago would be beyond most people's comprehension?
-
Where all your arguments fall down is trying to apply concepts from our every day life onto something that is beyond our reasoning or scope for imagination. It's not like someone was given a scope to create a website and has made a few errors on it that now need tweaking.
-
It's certainly not impossible. That's the whole point and the thing I always struggle to get my head around. What was before the big-bang? And what was before that? The idea of the universe having an infinite start and finish is beyond certainly mine and probably most people's ability to comprehend.
-
"I would like to thank God for making me an atheist." Think there are two separate arguments going on here. One about the rights and wrongs of religions and conventional Gods and another about the possibility of there being "something" that none of us are really aware of or have any understanding of, but in some way filled in the gaps before the "big bang" and provide some level of reasoning behind creation. Anyone in this day and age that believes in a religion is not far off being mad and/or brainwashed. However, I think "Science" rally struggles to explain a lot of stuff and until it can, it will always leave open thee question of "what else might be out there?"
