I agree he should have claimed it but he didn't. I would not assert that KD is useless anymore that belittle your opinion which you have done to mine.

It was not whipped in as you state. It was floated in from distance and it was still in the six yard box. Davies did not come for this or indeed does not come for most crosses where he might be under pressure. That is his major weakness as a goalie which he has repetaed repeatedly this season. Tranmere away being another example of hesitation in the six yard box. Mistakes are inevitable as a goalie and are more severely punished when they happen. However, hesitancy in your goalie unnerves the rest of the defense into errors that could be avoided.
-
As an ex goalie I have to disagree. Anything in the six yard box should be the goalies. Davies is a good shop stopper but his major weakness is coming for crosses such as for that second goal. If a goalie commits to the cross then often the sight of a goalie coming can put a forward off. Even a slight deflection can prevent a header. Beaciuse it was a cross it would be easy for the keeper to push or punch the ball away from danger. Good keeping is about prevention as well as stopping and this year Davies is being exposed too often.

If you really believe these are facts then god knows what your definition of an opinon is. Unless you are Cortese you have presented your opinions based on no more than assumptions. Do you have access to the P&L? Do you initiate transfers? Do you know the current cash flow? Do you know who are the current owners and beneficiary owners of the club? Give me those FACTS and you opinion might have some credibility.

A good goalkeeper is not just a shop stopper but one who prevents shots as well. In that respect Davies is very poor at coming for crosses and thereby puts pressure on his defenders. Clearly he does not command the box and therefore our back four are forced to play deeper than need be, particularly at centres. If the anaology of drive for show putt for dough is applied to football and goalkeeping then last ditch spectacular saves are the drives and the narrowing of angles, intelligent distribution and command of the box are the putting. Give Bart his chance

I really think that we are a class above teams in this league and we are approaching each game with confidence so much so that I would not be at all surprised if we get another six. By the way I am a good omen as I have not seen them lose at home this season from 8 games!!

Did she pay you then?

We all hear it used many times. A Professional performance...A Professional foul...a good pro. As it is a professional game, played by professionals I profess I get confused by the interpretaion of the word. After all on the one hand the implication is what is expected on the other a cynical and intentional tackle. So what does everbody else think "Professional" means to them?

Given the absence from the squad let alone starting XI are we to assume that he is on his way PDQ ?

Ah but we did it was just that all the rubble was needed in Portsmouth and was reassembled as housing for the poor in Fratton

Adkins will want get fired if he does not get promotion and lambert has not played well this season. In any event Lambert is, in my ,opinion, NOT suited to a pass and move game that Adkins wants that is why I believe he will move on. All players suffer lack of form but equally Managers will stick with them if form part of the overall plan. Puncheon was put out on loan because we have equal or better players. In Lambert there is no ready replacement but equally if we buy another striker in Jan I cannot see Lambert wanting to be on the bench.
-
Correct. Notwithstanding what may or may not have happened Lambert is not really suited to the current style of play. We need someone who has a turn of pace over three yards. Lambert really has slowed in that respect and more worrylingly is not winning headers like last year. I fully expect him to be sold in January.
-
Rumour has it that Adkins asked for more energy at half time from Lambert and got a load of verbal resulting in the half-time substitution. Anyone else heard the same?

I was at the game and FF was spot on
-
The difference last year was Rickie was anticipating earlier to give him a yard of space. Now his acceleartion, if that is the right word, is slower than last year, over three yards. Several times this year defenders have been able to get in tackles because he has slowed and unable to get in a shot. While never fast a player of Lambert's calibre must use muscle and guile. His guile has deserted him at the moment but I also suspect that he may have peaked at his fitness and therefore may never get any quicker over three yards let alone over ten.

7-0 Saints. Why not !!!

I think it is called a democracy and those who want to view and comment are free to do so.It is not limited to an elite.

Why admit blame when you have a scapegoat. The CVA was clearly never workable, but of course sending back the loanees would be out of the question to cut costs or sacking a few players on £20 k unthinkable !!

The "I'm not sure I can be R-Sed to go to the Oldham game" thread

I watched the game after a few beers and it wasn't any better !!! Perhaps I should not have gone to IKEA before the game -
I thought at times yesterday we played some glorious football played just like Arsenal to feet. The only difference is that Arsenal do it at a much higher tempo. Is that the way we are going to play under Adkins ?

Henry VIII's scond wife owned the ground but whilst playing around she went up for a corner and her head up ton left her !!

I think that Adkins is a bright intelligent and forward looking manager. No complaints whatsoever. I also thought that Pardew did a fantastic job in turning a losing team around and to get us to Wembley as well as getting us close to the playoffs. If , as Pardew claims, he was dismissed for footballing reasons and not for a serious breach of conduct, then Adkins , as with all managers is on borrowed time. Cortese wants results and wo betide those who do not deliver. But as we all know in football, only very rarely do things go to plan !!!

Bournemouth chairman "not welcome" directors box (sigh)

Good point but if as it would appear Cortese has alienated the Echo then he will continue to have the mud thrown at him, irrespective of whether he is telling the truth or not. Personally, I just think that Cortese is being naive. -
With people like that it was bloody amazing that we even created one .
