Steve was one of our best players.

I'd like to say it was a minority, but it wasn't, and hasn't been since it started earlier in the season. He might not be an amazingly consistent player, but he does have clear quality, and is a useful squad player. The booing is beyond me. I just can't comprehend it. You're meant to be supporters of Southampton FC. Not much supporting going on when you abuse one of our own.

Played well today the lad. Constant thorn in their side, an absolute pain in the arse for their defence. Pace and workrate won us possession back several times and he looked dangerous making runs that no-one saw/decided not to pass to him. Will be a top player.

I agree that Norwich will be a really tough test.

We were after him long before our promotion to the Premier League. It's a squad game, he will prove his worth. Apparently we were after another CB in earnest to go with the purchase of Yoshida, so it's not like we were completely prioritising buying a promising young lad over defensive stability. Our pursuit of a LB was also widely reported.

Owe? Why would Adkins owe anything to Pardew? Surely every manager that takes over a club with decent players would owe the previous incumbent, going by that logic. Benitez owes Di Matteo and AVB; Redknapp owes Mark Hughes; Chris Hughton owes Paul Lambert; Sam Allardyce owes Avram Grant etc, etc.

I accept that Cortese has done many things that have had a negative impact on the image of our club to our own fans, but I really can't see what the alternative is? No chairman is perfect. Who would replace Nicola? Would the replacement be able to ensure success on (like Cortese) AND off the pitch? The grass ain't always greener. And to reaffirm what i stated at the beginning - I am not saying Cortese has done no wrong, far from it.

Gazza will improve. He is young, has loads of potential, and his kicking is already amazing.
