  1. Wow that Warne article is a piece of work. I rate him as one of the best commentators and is surprisingly impartial (most of the commentators here are very one-eyed) but this article really shows what a deluded fool he is.
  2. Super days cycling. Froome did show signs of weakness but so did his nearest rivals and like last year when Wiggins was lucky enough to have someone of the quality of Froome support him, Froome was lucky to have Porte guide him up the second climb. Really good to see Quintana do well. I really like the guy and is a future GC contender (as is Porte)
  3. They do tours, one weekday per week and on non matchday Saturday's I believe.
  4. Oh the irony of the Spanish and Italians questioning other riders not being clean.
  5. Oh, and I'm going to enjoy my journey into work tomorrow. Adelaide locals have been known to whine a fair bit, I fully expect to hear some whinging in the office tomorrow, I'll just have to remember to bring my stirring spoon with me
  6. That game gave me memories of the Edgbaston test in 2005, even to the point of Finn dropped catch in the deep was reminiscent of Simon Jones doing the same in 2005. It was just as well we didn't have DRS in 2005 (Kasprowicz's glove was off the bat at the time he gloved it)
  7. 43 pages on a player that hasn't been confirmed as signed yet. Are we breaking a record? What page did Gaston sign? As for the Celtic big club argument, they are a massive club in a tinpot league. A shark in a pond is still a shark. If Celtic joined the EPL IMO they'd struggle to make a big impact in their first few years but once they were established and were able to reassess their weaker areas of their squad they'd certainly be challenging for Europe.
  8. Gattusso (spelling may be wrong) was world class
  9. To give you some perspective, Chris Armstrong moved to Millwall in 1991 for 50k. Paul Wilkinson moved to Boro (not sure what the transfer fee was but I'd be surprised if it was much more than 500k) and Dean Holdsworth moved to Wimbledon for 800k a year later (I'd imagine his fee would have been less in 1991). All these players would have been preferable to Dowie. I don't argue that Dowie scored goals that contributed to us staying up but my arguments are that anyone who scored goals that season contributed to us staying up and I think we could have bought better than Dowie.........but then we did have Branfoot in charge.
  10. We had over 500k to spend (which is what we paid for Dowie), I think for that money in those times we could have got better than Dowie.
  11. So it's starting to look like a done deal. Celtic message boards must be in meltdown right now.
  12. I would put all 3 ahead of Dowie on footballing abilities, it's just those 3 mentioned were a big disappointment from what we were led to believe they'd bring to the team.
  13. So you rated Dowie did you then? TBF you're not comparing like for like. Shearer was starting his professional career when he was with us and looking at his scoring record it was poor when he was 18 - 20 but in the 1991/1992 season he hit 13 in 41 (just shy of 1 in 3) as a 21 year old. That doesn't also take into account his all round game, his touch and ability to hold the ball up. Dowie joined us in his prime having scored less than 1 in 4 in his league career to that point and scored even less from then. Take out his dismal scoring record and he was still a poor player.
  14. Can't believe we spent 500k on Dowie. Even in today's money I wouldn;t have spent that much on him. Awful player! Surely anyone who scored a goal in a season in which we just stayed up you could argue that those goals kept us up. Dowie scored 30 goals in 122 games for us........very poor by all accounts.
  15. what, just like Kevin Keegan?
  16. Maybe he can't, maybe that's why he's been released by Barcelona.
  17. That little dog could have seriously injured someone, even killed one of the riders if he'd been hit and the peleton went down (given the speed they were travelling). Hope the irresponsible owner gets a severe reprimand. He should think himself lucky that there wasn't a crash as I'd imagine he'd be facing some legal action.
  18. Sometimes I can't tell if you are genuinely a 'glass half empty' kind of guy, a wum or a complete nutcase
  19. Absolutely love the 1980-85 kit (had an Air Florida version as a 7 year old) and in a close second, the sash.
  20. Imagine if Arsenal had discarded Bergkamp after his first session in which he wasn't all that impressive
  21. Exactly how I feel added to the fact you can buy it for £18 plain (without badge & sponsor). £50 for the shirt......seriously?
  22. The badge and Adidas logo in the picture don't look like transfers, the look sewn on and they don't bend with the creases (like the sponsor does). In any case I'd expect someone doing a fake mock up to have ensured that the badge looked straight before sending out the pic to social media (see my previous post for the reason the badge looks wonky)
  23. OK for those that believe this is a fake based only on the wonky badge, look a the box that the shirt is laying on - it's not even. That can cause the badge to appear to be wonky . Also the front of the shirt is being pulled at the top from right to left in the picture (which you can see from the creases in the top left and the fact that this v in the neck is out of line with the label on the inside back of the shirt) which is also contributing to a wonky badge. The badge is fine. Give the information we have had over the past month or two, this picture ties in with it. Also I have heard (via FB so must be true ) shop staff have confirmed it's real. I'll put myself out there and say, this is not fake - it is the kit that'll be announced in 4 hours time!
  24. I'm undecided on it. Will have to see it being worn.
  25. It doesn't look straight because the box it's laying on is not flat.
