  1. We'll win. Sparta Prague will cause them a few issues on Wednesday, we get to 0-0 at half time and then we unleash pure pace against their tiring defenders. Sulemana hat trick, Archer double and Jack Stephens will get in on the act, referee will blow for full time without any injury time to take pity on the hapless City players.
  2. Skates already 2-0 down at Cardiff after 12 minutes lol. Please please please let us get them in the cup.
  3. All well and good having a 10 year plan but on the flip side, if we were doing magically well, other teams would come knocking and let's be honest, Martin would leave in a heartbeat, as he did Swansea for us. We need a succession plan and hopefully there are managers we are talking to (via their agents) who we know are interested.
  4. I want a manager who can not only get us promoted but keep us in the league. Ultimately if we do go down (and we haven't sacked Martin) then he shouldn't be here next season.
  5. I remember the season we went down, think it was Michael Salisbury on VAR who ruled out a perfectly good goal we scored against Aston Villa, which we went on to lose. Definitely remember feeling cheated out of a win. Last season the worst ref we had by far was Stuart Atwell. Can't remember which game it was but he was awful all game. Some of the Champ refs I quite like, Sam Barrott and Sam Allison were very good. Anthony Taylor, just so inconsistent on Saturday, it ruins the game.
  6. Like we did against Arsenal you mean?
  7. The defence has to improve, no question about it. And if he doesn't sort it ASAP, it'll be his downfall.
  8. I don't think we'll sack him imminently, but if we haven't got our first win from any of our next three (Man City, Everton and Wolves) then that should be that and the board will have to look elsewhere you'd imagine. I suspect we'll be ultra-focused on defending in training this week in anticipation of our trip to the Etihad so who knows, maybe some of that will rub off in the next two games and we keep a couple of clean sheets for once! I'm on the fence, because the performance yesterday (and at Arsenal) for the first 60 minutes was good. At the start of the season we were awful going forward, and we definitely look a threat now at least, even if at the back it's the same old issues. We have to find a way of performing well over a full 90 minutes, and I do genuinely think that once we get that first win, we'll go on a bit of a run. On the flip side... we have lost every game bar one. We are underperforming, and ultimately, that's all that matters.
  9. No we won't, no he isn't and no they aren't.
  10. There is some horrible revisionism going on here. I know we're all frustrated but Nathan Jones wouldn't have got us promoted last season, look at Charlton, one of the biggest teams in League 1 and a bigger budget than most, but stuck in mid table. Jones was woefully out of his depth with an established Premier League team. I don't see Martin being hopelessly out of his depth in the same way. Yes he's made mistakes but sorry it is chalk and cheese. Martin with a better squad would do alright.
  11. Unless we have significant money to spend in January (unlikely), I can see a lot of managers holding out for something better, were a vacancy to come up now. Moyes, Potter... they won't be short of offers. If we do go down (and if we do, Martin should be sacked), we may as well wait until the summer when someone of a higher calibre wanting an opportunity to manage one of the best teams in the league will come up.
  12. Away tickets are always paper but I wonder how long before it goes digital? Would mean if you transfer a ticket, you lose the credit against your customer number. I guess it would have to be implemented in agreement with every Prem club. Imagine having 20 different clubs' ticket apps
  13. I always see people on Twitter offering their season ticket customer numbers in advance of the sales period. Of course, they get the benefit of the game being credited to their account. Seems silly to me, especially if using your own name, I'm sure the club monitor that. I know other teams have done random ID checks on away supporters with names printed on the tickets, I wonder if we will go down the same route. Guess it depends if they see it as a big issue. If there are loads of empty seats at City or Wolves then maybe they will.
  14. I remember before I had a season ticket I got to loads of aways as a member - Palace, Arsenal, Spurs, even Brighton ffs. It's mad how crazy it's got tbh. We'll see how well we're doing come the new year, Man Utd away, Liverpool away, Everton away, they may not look so attractive.
  15. In the last game we were set up to be hard to beat (0-0 at half time with a very resilient defensive display) and then got a goal scoring on the counter. Tactically he got it spot on I'd say, until Arsenal's quality in the end shone through. Chalk and cheese compared to Brentford and Bournemouth for example where we did piss it away too easily, absolutely we weren't hard to beat. Meanwhile Ipswich got trounced 4-1 at a far inferior team, and supposedly with a far better manager in McKenna. But apparently we should copy their tactics. I do honestly feel if we get the first win (which is absolutely possible on Saturday) we'll look forward up the league table. Think we just need one game where it all falls into place. I'm feeling optimistic about Saturday tbh.
  16. If we play like we did against Ipswich and take our chances, we should win. Hopefully Archer getting his goal will give him a bit of confidence, he missed a couple he should've scored.
  17. Do you live in or around Southampton? If so, I'd suggest getting down to the stadium a couple of hours before kick off before the stadium opens, you might find people are willing to answer a couple of questions to help you and may be able to get a bigger range of answers from a more diverse selection i.e. from men/women, older/younger fans etc.
  18. It took me 1 minute to fill out.
  19. We have to be realistic. Based on last season, as the play-off winners, we're the 20th best team. The only relegation rival we've faced is Ipswich, and we should've won that game. If we fuck up against Leicester, Wolves, Everton, then we're in trouble and should look at changes. Martin isn't going to be sacked any time before then I'm sure. He's a young manager, learning all the time, yes I wish we had more points but I genuinely don't think we're a million miles off, if we can beat Leicester we'll move up the table quickly.
  20. That's on the players.
  21. Disagree. He got the tactics right today. If we play like we did against Ipswich and take our chances, we'll win.
  22. The performance was good. The first half we were really, really resilient. And the start of the second half was good, getting that early goal. Unfortunately we didn't hang on long enough and after their equaliser, the mood in the stadium shifted, they reacted to that and we didn't cope. Even so, at 2-1 we were in the game and had chances to equalise. Third goal, a really stupid goal to give away. Killed it. Overall, we did OK, Arsenal too good for us but we were competitive, unlike at Brentford and Bournemouth. We have it in us to compete at this level, I just feel if we get that first win we'll kick on.
  23. I don't think we're going to sack him any time soon, regardless of the result. The Leicester game will be more consequential
  24. 6-1 now hahahahaha This is brilliant
