The Minsk Memorial Thread (and continuation of his work)

How far back were Reading and West Ham? I remember Reading coming from absolutely nowhere and going on a mad winning run -
Playing like that would be fine, we just need better players who can do it at that level

Ralph Hasenhüttl new manager of VfL Wolfsburg
Pamplemousse replied to Disco Stu's topic in The Saints
Why would he not take his wages that he was entitled to under the contract that both parties agreed to? We sacked him, not the other way around. We had 12 points from 14 games when he left. We only gained 13 more from 24 matches. Not saying we would have stayed up but we would have been a lot closer under him. And who knows, maybe Sulemana and Alcaraz would have flourished under him and galvanised us to safety, like he managed back in 2019. -
I'd accept a lower fee if we get a massive sell-on percentage.

Good luck to him, will look out for his results. On a related note, great to see Nigel Adkins doing well at Tranmere, they won at Wrexham yesterday. -
And another where he fluffs his lines Southgate will probably take him to the Euros after today
-
Goes without saying but that Middlesbrough game is absolutely a must win and hopefully it's a hammering. Give us instant momentum going into Ipswich away, that would be 3 wins on the trot.

FFS, just had a thought. If Leicester go through, and so do Liverpool, and they draw each other in the semi-final, their game would have to be on the Sunday as Liverpool play on the Thursday... meaning our game will get rescheduled again against Leicester from the Tuesday... not good as I've already bought non-refundable train tickets.
-
Good news is that Coventry v Ipswich will have to be rearranged as it's on the semi-final weekend, so that'll be a tough away game in midweek where they only have 3 or 4 days to prepare.
-
Kick off time has been moved to 8pm as it's live on Sky.

My prediction is whichever team doesn't go up this season will win the division next season.

https://theanalyst.com/eu/2024/03/championship-predictions-promotion-relegation/ We have a 7.3% chance of automatic promotion apparently. It was only 5.8% last weekend so our odds are trending upwards.

I wonder if we'll see less of him for the next few games due to Ramadan. I'd be surprised if he starts any time soon tbh.
-
I don't think it will be a big of an issue as some people think. The three games we have on Tuesday, our opponents will also have played on the weekend. On the weekend games (assuming they stay on Saturday) we will have had 4 days between, which isn't so bad, means after recovery we still have a couple of days to prepare. If Martin uses the squad properly that can mitigate things as well, we have decent depth to rotate a little and still be strong.
-
Tbh I'd rather have advance notice of the game for cheaper train tickets so I'm glad the game isn't next week.

In the form table, over the last 10 games, we're second. It's only because in those 10 games Leeds have won 9 and drawn 1 that every dropped point for us looks bad. If that form is replicated and Leeds have a drop off (with Millwall, Coventry and Hull to play soon you'd expect some dropped points at some stage) and we put on a run (2 wins now on the bounce) we can not only catch second but even win the league.
-
He was abysmal today. I like him and he will improve but he had a shocker. Every pass put us into trouble.
-
Ipswich and Leeds will drop points at some point. We will catch them. I hope the team isn't as defeatist about top two as some people here!!

On the Echo website, it says the roads and footbridges should reopen tonight when the fire brigade leave the scene.

Referee is a Premier League official - unfortunately it's Stuart Attwell. Presumably been demoted for the week
-
Hopefully no changes to the personnel and that the defence have a bit more of an idea of what's going on around them this time... I'm going to go for a routine 3-0 win.

Apparently Sunderland are advising their fans they expect the game to go ahead
-
Bournemouth? Or Reading for the size? Reading would suit me tbh

I doubt it, think it will be one of the midweeks in April. Sky were due to show the game (on the red button) so that may also come into the consideration. I suspect they'd like to show the rearranged game on a midweek they don't already have games they plan to show.
