Sheffield Weds 1-2 Saints - Match Thread
Pamplemousse replied to Yorkshire Saint's topic in The Saints
They're not happy looking at Twitter, don't think their squad is anywhere good enough. -
For anyone planning to go to certain games, the EFL have published on their website the dates when TV games will be announced https://www.efl.com/how-to-watch/tv-broadcast/ So we should get the next batch of TV games announced next week. I reckon our game v Leicester in September is almost certainly going to be shown

Welcome aboard Shea. We're quietly making some astute signings. I thought we'd be a little off Leeds and Leicester this season but starting to think that we may be ahead of Leeds at least.
-
Still sticking to my original prediction that nobody will pay what we want but come the end of August someone may get desperate if they've had a bad start to the season. We just need to hold firm.
-
And he only has 2 years left on his contract, unlike many of our players. Obviously when it comes to Adams, KWP and Salisu we're in a trickier position to negotiate if we want a fee.
-
Will season ticket prices be released now and will you renew?
Pamplemousse replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
Hopefully we hike the price when clubs who visit us charge Saints fans ridiculous prices. £45 is obscene, on top of any travel costs. -
Everyone said the same about Thiago Silva when he went to Chelsea and he's been immense for them. Yes physically it may be a challenge and he won't be able to play every game but let's be honest, he's better than Lyanco.

Southampton fans from Salisbury and Basingstoke
Pamplemousse replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
Personally I think a bigger issue is why so many who live in the city support other teams. Why are we different to other one club cities like Leeds and Newcastle where everyone supports their teams no matter what? -
On the Coady debate - apparently he wanted to stay in the Midlands/North so I think if we were in for him, any enquiry via his agent would have been met with a swift no.
-
Kelvin was great for us in League 1 and the Championship, shite for us in the Premier League I think he'll be fine this season. You would expect (hopefully) he won't have to face as many shots as he did last season
-
If anyone fancies some evening entertainment, the EFL youtube page is kindly showing the full game of this. I was there and haven't seen back the minute's "silence" for Ted Bates before this.
-
Chelsea have a sell on fee as well. £12M wouldn't make any sense for us to sell. I know Rasmus does stupid things but he's not that stupid.
-
Portsmouth?
-
Just reject it ffs. One decent season next season and he'll be worth far more.
-
It'll be staggered anyway I imagine i.e. those on international duty will return later
-
Don't we give 3,300? Out of those teams, I can't see too many taking the full allocation. I reckon we'll open up Block 43 for home fans a fair amount (if there is demand of course)

This is from the EFL website. Could be handy for some of those lengthy midweek away games we have. EFL Clubs will have the right to live-stream midweek matches on iFollow or Club equivalent service, with Sky Sports also able to stream the same Championship fixtures to subscribers across their Red Button interactive and digital services.

Why would he turn down Brentford but want to join Fulham? Brentford are a better team for starters. Article doesn't make any sense. Think we can file it under made up or leaked by Fulham to placate their fans when they sell Palhinha.
-
Abu surely a B-Team signing with a view to loaning him out to League 1 or 2
-
I'm glad the London ones are on weekends.
-
We should include our own buy back clause for £60M or something, just for a laugh.
-
Scapegoat? We got relegated, he's in charge of 'building' the roser so yes it is 100% his fault.
-
Portsmouth would be the dream. Any London away would do me.
-
Ok reading through his tweets it seems believable tbh. Said that basically what Martin said is that it's unlikely a player as good as Ward-Prowse would stay in this division, but a deal isn't done with anyone.
-
There's a photo of him out in Mallorca a couple of days ago. He might already be back of course but seems a bit odd he would stand and have a 25 minute chat with a stranger.
