The problem with them is that nobody will use them and everybody knows you will not use them. This is why we have soldiers in Iraq Afghanistan and where ever else. If they had zapped Baghdad with a nuke the first time most of the last 15 years fighting would not have happened. If you've got them use them. other wise why have them??

Agree with this Kids need books with large letters on each page to learn the Alphabet of whichever language they are learning with a kindle / electronic book its difficult for them to throw it down, grip the pages and then hold each page right in front of there eyes to remember it. Can you imagine a two year old holding a kindle the first thing they will do is see if it bounces then try to open it by bashing it on the floor. I would hope that they do keep the paper format of books as I have a decent sized Library and I will still add to it with books that I want. But as the technology evolves I have also got en E-book library and will add to that as well. Can any body remember the last time that they actually looked in an encyclopaedia in hard copy form and not on the internet for information ?

I did say that Scotland was in the North atlantic. This does not have any bearing on which part of the world that NATO (North Atlantic treaty Organisation) is looking at to defend but as part of the North Atlantic should at least be eligible to join even if the could effectively do bugger all. In name they would have more rights than Bulgaria or Slovakia that dont have an Atlantic coastline or Austria if they ever became a member.

But it is in the North Atlantic so does have some relevance.

Not forgetting that it is not only the licence payer that pays for it all. Money made from programmes sold overseas also go back into the pot, these by the way have advertising on to make money as per normal. Really all your licence fees pay for is an advert free BBC in UK and other places in europe that can pick it up without going through a decoder.
