  1. Surely it will be a trivial matter for the sleepiest giant to attract investment on that scale due to their stellar league performance? Oh...
  2. "Hall says it is now more important than ever for the club to focus on the future. "For a football club to grow sustainably takes decades of painstaking work, growing and retaining fan-base, managing costs and building long-term stability on the football side. So what, Micah, have you been up to since then? No, don't say anything - actions speak louder than words

  4. Well, lets see... Leeds are mid-table in the Championship and are visibly not the basket case that #p!sspoorportsmouth represent as an investment 'opportunity' . http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26006243 Massimo Cellino certainly appears to be no angel, and his competence may be questionable in the light of his public vacillation over McDermot, but can we say he's worse than the parade of misfits and nutters that have 'run' #lowlyportsmouth in recent times? I still think we haven't heard the half of it from the pantomime down there and I look forward with interest to the next instalment of leaks from their 'boardroom' But it would indeed be a tragic loss for #potlessportsmouth if they lost out in the race for extinction
  5. Meanwhile, #factlessallen has let slip just how 'massive' #potlessportsmouth have become: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/the-talented-teenage-trio-assured-they-are-pompey-s-future-1-5848853 "The talented teenage trio assured they are Pompey’s future A Skrill Premier performer, a crocked left-back and a fringe Academy player." WTFILN
  6. I'd say this thread's position as top candidate for being first past 100 000 posts on saintsweb is probably secure I think the real challenge is whether #p!sspoorportsmouth can manage to stay in business at all for another 12 months
  7. I do hope they will be able to keep warm with their pompey dream after their tatty timber tabernacle has mysteriously burned down in a last-ditch attempt to claim the fire insurance. If only they could afford fire insurance. #potlesspompey

  9. On the other hand, some of them *still* think a L2 club coming to fatpipes is their cup final... go figure? http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/barker-disappointed-by-pompey-showing-1-5849996 Blue Walter 7:36 PM on 01/02/2014 Torquay fans think they won because they were the more competitive side. Must say I agree with that. They enjoyed their day out and thought it was a great atmosphere and strange to see such a large crowd at a League 2 game. This is one of the problems for us. Others clubs love coming to Fratton and both team and supporters up their game for the visit. This was Torquay's biggest away following for years and one they looked forward to since the beginning of the season. Some have said who would have thought they would see their team play at Fratton Park in a league game. Why the hell can't our players take on board what our opponents think about coming to Fratton and pretend they are the away team on a big day out?
  10. The penny may be dropping for some of the phew: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/gulls-leave-sorry-blues-all-at-sea-1-5849968 6:15 PM on 01/02/2014 Our record under Barker is worse than it was under Whittingham. We made a mistake getting rid of Whittingham, who is doing really well at Crawley, and another one getting rid of Connolly, who is now playing well at Oxford.
  11. Couldn't make it up WTFILN
  12. Really? They're in good company then & have good taste
  13. This^. Agent Connolly's mission deep under cover has succeeded beyond wildest expectations
  14. Its going to be a long 2nd half
  15. Southampton traffic?
  16. Probably watching a different game
  17. Fonte you beauty
  18. They're up at Wycombe tonight, hopefully the chairboys will humiliate them
  19. #lowlyportsmouth aka #p!sspoorportsmouth ... Believing their own hype since they lost the plot after WW2
  20. Well said Sue. As if any further evidence were needed of their fickle greedy motivation, up pops the mightiest heroic goalie IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD only to break their fishy hearts shortly before time and (in their eyes) justifiably become a reviled spat-upon zero. Couldn't make it up
  21. How sweet was that - #lowlyportsmouth should have been dead certs to win that, as they knew they had to - are we sure Carson isn't secretly on the PTS payroll along with Agent Connolly? Good job that man anyway.
  22. I leave for work and get home and, lo, there's another page of lols on here which I have just read at the expense of my now wine-spattered MacBook. Thanks. Where's the 'coffee over keyboard' dingbat when you need him? On the upside, imagining the bittersweet emotions passing through the minds of Fred Dinenage and his crew as they give up the unequal struggle & abandon the good ship #lowlyportsmouth gave me several minutes' worth of unalloyed joy
  23. Come on you chairboys
