So Liverpool used Gerrard and England training camps to tap Rickie up, with Woy smiling on benevolently. I so f**king hope England go out in the group stage.......

Are we really playing hardball on the fee, or is this just PR spin to soften us up ? As someone has said earlier, we should just tell them to poke it if they dont match our valuation; there is no reason we need to let them bully us into a pre-WC agreement. Lallana can sulk for a bit and come back determined to prove to clubs the valuation we have, or he can let his career tail off. SFC have every right to protect their assets. If we let this go through before the WC, it just proves yet again how useless our board are.

The best thing the Board can do right now is.......

Me, or them ? -
Yes, this seems to have been forgotten in all the hullabaloo.

Yeah, well lets see how well he gets on in Brazil if called upon....

Agree with previous comments. They need to be working 24 hrs to get the right manager and coaching staff in, then they might be able to limit the damage to the playing staff. They can always remember how to use the word "no" or better still the words "F**k Off" -
Will Saints ever be a "bigger fish in the sea"?

Helluva lot of good its done us......... -
Thats a great post. If our own fans think we should just bend over and take it from behind, we cannot moan that the tabloids and the bigger clubs think the same. I dont give a sh*t RLs childhood club came in for him. He had a contract with us. F**k the sentimental bullsh*t, there is too much money involved.

1. We will never be one of the bigger fish 2. Hodgson is right, but he is part of the problem, imo. His training camps were supposed to be transfer-free, but it seems to me he has actively encouraged this situation and I dont care for the accusations that England training camps are being used as cover for tapping-up. -
I have a problem with this...... A new manager gets a min. 50m transfer kitty - great. The PR figtback has started (belatedly). This increases if we sell any players for substantial fees. OK, lets say we get 30m for Shaw and 30m for Lallana (22.5m in reality). So lets say the new manager can spen half of that, taking the kitty to 75m - great, sounds wonderful. The MAIN problem is, every club and every f**ker agent is going to know that, so we have to pay double for the players we want (which are going to be Toms, Dicks and Harrys, because we are not competitive for silverware). In effect, we will end up with a weaker squad. And apart from needing to replace RL, AL, and LS (at the least), we need a couple of extra players to identify last season's weaknesses (GK, CB, striker) Moral of the story for me - do a better job of holding on to what you've got and build from there. IF this strategy is going to work, the managerial appointment HAS to be someone with a big name and widely respected in football, so he can attract players. Otherwise this is going to be a Dixon & Speedie-sized disaster.

Except hes off to Spurs....

Seriously, whats the f**king point in the other 87-88 teams like Saints bothering any more ?
-
Maybe the total sell-on fees work out less if more is lumped onto Rickie.
-
The "Dark Forces" Cortese referred to , or maybe the man himself with a score to settle ?

Dont hold your breath, mate. Wouldnt want you to harm yourself on a fools errand.

Yes, because its "special fans" fault...

...if they offer the right value.

To enable some of the Lallana transfer fee to buried so we pay Bournemouth less than we should. As everyone said, 8-9M for a 32 year-old is ridiculous. And its a sh*tty way to treat Bournemouth.

I am wondering how this bloke feels he can stay in this job when his credibility is utterly shot to pieces. Within 24 hrs of his interview, where in some peoples eyes he made some catergorical statements, we are going back on them. Hes as big a joke now as Agent Orange Doooleyooo.

And next week you will be saying "Nothing has actually happened apart from Poch going to Spurs because he wanted to and Rickie going to Liverpool to fulfill his childhood dream" The week after you will be saying "Nothing has actually happened apart from Poch going to Spurs because he wanted to and Rickie going to Liverpool to fulfill his childhood dream and..."
