Football was a different game back then. Villa and Forest won the title. -

Name me another 5 year period with a back-to-back promotions, a trophy, a highly respectable top-division finish, 3 players in an England WC squad, 7 players in the WC in total. -
Worst - Salt Lake City. Horrendous cross-winds. Best - I like Schipol for some reason.

Because of lead time, our kit is going to be a Fred-in-the-Shed affair. Just like the running of our club nowadays.

So what ? So what if it was a vanity project for him ? He brought us 5 years of unrivalled success in our clubs history. Its downhill from here. Anyone who dismisses his success is a prize tw*t. Other clubs have had owners come in and sploshed the dosh and achieved a fraction of what he achieved. Yes, I described a period early last summer as being run like a seaside B & B, but at the end of the summer he delivered a team that surpassed our best ever previous PL performance. He delivered. This lot are doing jack sh*t. -
Just keep clutching 'em, dude........

This. I guess KL has pulled the financial plug on the project (as is her right to do so) and we need to sell again. Dont understand why she just can t find a buyer.

Just read the BBC article, and feel saddened. We've definitely lost somethng. -
da-da-da-DA da-da-da-DA da-da-da-DA da-da-da-DA (sorry for my organ impersonation..)

Maybe they deserved it. I've always thought the back-rooms at SFc were populated by a cosy clique not exactly dynamic and ambitious. Maybe they needed dragging into the 21st Century.

No, no, there is no news. That MUST be good news !!! The fact MoPo wont extend is mere trivia..

Yep. But never mind, we will still have our tradition, and hopefully our stripes.. -
Anyone who doesnt really deep down understand that 5 years of generally-speaking stunning progess (before the whining starts, yes I reacted badly to p*ss-poor results and decisions, so what?) has come to a grinding halt really is insane or is clutching at straws. The only player we sold of any significance in that time was AOC; but we squeezed Arsenal's balls until the blood ran on that one. It was a magnificent play by NC. There is no way the new lot are going to even come close to his resolve to build and protect the team, if they really have any to start with anyway.

You forgot how he abandoned the stripes
-
Do bears sh*t in the woods ? YES.

Personally, I believe if he were still at the helm our first team squad and coaching team wouldnt be on the verge of disintegration -
Adrift on brown stuff creek without a paddle...

I am not particularly well-liked in these parts, thats why. Maybe the reaction would have been different if someone else started it. As usual the Clappies are putting their usual inimitable spin on the complete breakdown in communication (and resulting perceived action) from the club. Apparently, those of us pointing out are being unreasonable in expecting hour-by-hour updates on every minutae that is occurring -

Yep. The board are blowing this. Their strategy is saying "no" and putting their fingers in their ears and singing "la-la-la-la-la" loud enough. -

If this true we have moved on precisely diddly squat since the Lowe era............ -

All well-and-good, R, but if this is really the case, why not postpone the sackings or their disclosure until there are a number of developments (including good) to reveal ? The club will only have themselves to blame if more fans start thinking like me. -
Dropping - fast.....

I am happy for this to be merged with another thread; I just didnt know where it belonged. We are CRYING OUT for a statement of intent from the new board; a deed that gives us an impression of which direction we are going in. After all, they have been in-place for a few months now and should know what they want to do. So have we got it ? No. In fact, we have worse - respected ex-Saints players being fired. We have no kit supplier this season, we are not sure we have a manager, and the vultures are circling our best players like they are rotting carcases out in a Western desert. FFS, board, get a f**king grip before this club plummets into a new rut.
