  1. Nothing unique or special about red-and-white stripes. Nothing special about red generic Addidas strips either. I want us to stand out. Be unique. Has to be a modern Rank Xerox shirt. We've moved on from the stripes.
  2. Never understood the sh*t Goolie received. Unless of course it was racially-motivated... Good Luck Goolie, thanks for your part in returning us to the big-time.
  3. Yeah, I have to agree with this. Its a fiver, FFS........... Some real d*ck-waving going on, far worse than the "Please dont quote xxx, I have him on ignore" posts.
  4. Seasonal parity is one thing, but if we win wed have 4 points from 6 in the face-to-face, so we could justifiably claim to be the better team. For me the main reason I am desperate for a win is complete closure on 2005.
  5. I suspected this was the case but couldnt be bothered working out the stats. Certainly we have been better focused and enforced our superiority over lower teams better. On the other hand, we have caused less top-of-the table upsets than last season, though Liverpool away this season has to rank among the best. Oh, what could have been if we had ironed out defensive lapses (Wanyama available more games ?), hadnt been light up front for striking options, and all of our "creative" players had delivered !
  6. I like the quarters too, but as we only get one vote I went for Rank Xerox The time feels right for the Keegan / Williams / Armstrong kit to return.
  7. Voted Rank Xerox, but guessing it was decided before NC left and is mainly red again...
  8. Just goes to show that there are WUMs on all sides of an argument...
  9. Hmmmm. Not convinced about bringing the original human parts of the cast back, to be honest, but will reserve judgement until more about the storyline emerges. Would have like the sequel trilogy to take up the Thrawn storyline, but hey-ho...
  10. Yeah, whatever. Your responses do a lot of credit for the whinge-bag argument...
  11. Maybe (the PL title isnt over yet), but he has serious bragging rights - Chelsea done the double over Liverpool and City. I think they could be long gone with the title by Easter next season
  12. Yeah, I have had similar experiences with Daisy Dip over in Swaythling. When I was a kid it was hotbed of activity all year round - football, cricket, the odd bike, war (on the rare occasions the Council cut the grass, the trimmings were turned into trenches); last few times I have visited my parents, its been utterly deserted.
  13. Sorry that it was your post that provoked me into responding to this thread, it wasnt personal. Yours was simply the latest in a long line. I am just bemused that some of you think that there is a small group of posters who, having unconventional opinions and a somewhat unconventional approach to discussing them, are deliberately setting out to ruin the site.
  14. An improved outlook ? Sorry, cant go along with that at all. We are still looking at managerial, player and transfer activity uncertainties, in my opinion.
  15. Wow, there is some serious paranoia in these parts. The only thing about the mod activity that I find surprising is that this thread is not yet locked, or at least moved to another section of the site.
  16. Telling it as I see it, Dunc. I also forgot to add that he brought my team to my back yard when I hadnt seen them for a while and only been able to observe our renaissance from afar up until then, at a time when travelling was impossible for me. For that I will ALWAYS be grateful, and I still have trouble believing it happened even now. From what little I know your opinion is not exactly objective, thats not to say its not without justification. I can only say that overall the bloke made me happy about my club, and that I worry about the characters brought in to replace him. I really couldnt give a monkey's chuff what other clubs pay their CEO relative to what NC earnt; besides, his continual record of success over 4.5 years is hardly matched by any other club anyway. EDIT: Not even passed comment on the fact he has improved the value of the club by about a factor of 10, and has made KL even richer if she wants to cash that in............
  17. He brought our club back from financial meltdown and bottom of League 1 with -10 points to 8th in the Premier League and one game away from a temporary top-spot. His overview has also brought Saints to the verge of representation in an England WC squad for the first time in 2 decades and has made our club the respect of European football for its youth policy. Some of the transfers he oversaw were a disaster, and hes put a fair few noses out of joint, but overall he did a fantastic job and earned his pay. I wish he was still on board and had found a way to work with KL...
  18. Its still annoying to read, whilst in the meantime I am finding it hard to come to terms with that Cortese hasnt simply moved on. He quit, after all...
  19. Ashton is at it again today.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2615930/Ashley-Cole-dropped-Chelsea-going-Arsenals-Christmas-not-form-best-left-Englands-game.html#readerCommentsCommand-message-field
  20. This one. Was against Oldham, I think. Wouldnt have been able to do that at the other end in a million years.
  21. Yes it does. If he were happy he would be signing something or at least telling the media he is staying. Bury your head in the sand if you wish.
  22. Personally, I cannot dwell on posts like yours for too long. I get really depressed at the sheer loss of potential; these poor little buggers get one shot at life and are being totally let down by a selfish, lazy ignorant modern society.
  23. I also think all this "wait and see" does not augur well. It means Mopo has reservations of signing on for longer.
  24. Yes, that would add up. Just goes to show there is some merit in the old saying "keep your friends close, your enemies even closer..."
  25. They've got nowhere with the Lallana and Shaw to Manyoo story, so they make this piece of sh*t up : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2615365/Adam-Lallana-lift-Brendan-Rodgers-Saints-star-ready-snub-Man-United-Liverpool-move.html 15m is an utter insult.
