Do you think the plan is to play gaston when fit?

Simply first South American name that came into my head, so dont try to seek some deeper meaning or inference. I know they have different nationalities. -

That's right, because I live in Austria so havent been able to get to many games, and the poor little lamb was recovering from his awfully tough summer for the 2 games I did see.... -

Much better. -
We want José Fonte in the Portuguese National Team!
alpine_saint replied to JoséFonte6's topic in The Saints
Sorry, I dont. I want him focussed on keeping Saints as the team with the most miserly defence in the PL. -
Why ? Why was it necessary ? Is there a Saints fan anywhere on the planet, galaxy, entire cosmos (except that funny one with three arms down in the deepest darkest corner of Uzbekistan) that isnt already aware of our meteoric rise ? Who the f**k is he reminding ? And I get accused of attention-seeking... You may not see it that way, but imo its become a rallying call to cut off anything that vaguely resembles debate or dissent.

Wow, another lecture about how to support... -
The council promised the city the Itchen Bridge would be toll-free once paid for. This latest rabble decided last year to renege on that promise.

He cost us 12m. I dont know the breakdown, but I find it highly unlikely Bologna accepted installment payment. We've paid him 60K per week for a year. Another 3m. That's 15m we've paid out. And what have we got in return ? A few pretty passes that make some fans a bit moist, a delicious forearm smash to make Kent Walton and the blue-rinse brigade drop their dentures, and some cracking game-changing goals against.....Barnsley and Bristol City. I get p*ssed off at sloppy surrendering of posesssion, but at least the likes of Danny Fox and Goolie do it cheaply. -
OK, got your point now. I have nooooo problem with anyone whatsoever raving about us reaching the heady heights of 4th/5th and crowing over the fact that we are above both sets of Manc scum (to name but a couple), but cant we celebrate it for what it is without the condescending subliminal "and you should be bloody grateful considering where we were, so dont say anything negative" lecture that regularly flows from the keyboards of a small select group of posters ?

Wow, no sh*t Einstein.... Riiiiight, so you mean I was largely correct then. Excellent news, was worried for a moment there. Perhaps you could share this revellation with Lost Olallana.... Sorry if you felt my analogy was a bit charmless, but I was making a point because I find the "we dont need Rickie" movement that seems to be gathering apace on here equally as charmless... -
Nope, you've lost me now, I'm afraid..

Still in the here-and-now though...

Because most of us think there are other, more important, more forward-looking things to discuss.. Its beginning to get Uncle "During the war..." Albert-ish...

I'd bite their f**king hand off. We will never get our money back on him. -

Hardly. Your questions are ridiculous, and actually add nothing to the discussion, except to distract it, which is a favourite tactic of the sites favourite spin doctor. I suppose someone had to take over when he started begrudging the site his fiver.. I really like to know, O enlightened one, if a players value isnt defined by his ability, level of performance and contribution to team achievement, what is it defined by ? Exactly, they were complete nonsense.. -

Indeed, I expressed my outrage at the message of the post without resorting to personal abuse. But thanks for highlighting the fact that I respond more maturely than a lot of you. -

I dont have a problem with that. But you would assume that means the 11 on the pitch cost more. Most of them dont. They are not more expensive, just more interested/motivated/committed. -

Yep, a 12m asset is sat on the bench, depreciating with every second of game time..... -

Jesus, I am really struggling with the tone of this post. Rickie is a f**king hero who has given his all for this club and has broken into the England squad, not some half-demented granny that stinks of wee invited round for Christmas dinner ! I utterly resent the creeping sentiment on here that he should be shoved towards the exit, and certainly so that space can be made for a pre-pubescent light-weight player of questionable committment and determination who is off to S. America to warm the bench for his country quicker than you can say "General Galtieri"............
