  1. Ok, a simple question. Do you think the world is a better/safer place now that the US, and according to you its corporations and Israel as well by association, have had their noses rubbed in it by Russia and its Thug-in-Chief ?
  2. Hey, Pap. Whilst you are wetting yourself at Russia "showing the US whats what", maybe you should chew over these words from Garton Ash. http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2013/sep/11/crisis-resolves-little-syria-says-much-about-us You seem to be running to embrace a word dominated by the thug regimes of Russia and China. Have you really thought it through ? Some of you seem to be cutting off your noses to spite your faces.
  3. All credit to the British tablloid press (with the noticeable exception of the fish 'n chip paper that calls itself the Independent) for being balanced, accurate and fair-minded this morning. For once..
  4. Yeah, this. He may not have set the world a light, but some of the team were truly sh*t in comparison.
  5. Rolf Harris hasnt been found guilty of anything, and Saville has been able to face all the accusors that suddenly emerged after his death.
  6. Indeed, its a fair question. If she doesnt, it means that she is believed and in reality hes guilty of the accused offence. The bottom line is, whether you like it or not, although the law is black and white, upholding it isnt.
  7. A couple of points : People are acquitted in trials through lack of evidence all the time. Its doesnt mean they didnt committ the crime. If you get accused of armed robbery and are cleared, people shrug their shoulders and look at it abstractedly. Its different if its a sexual offence or an offence against childen, imo. The story lingers. I dont understand why, but thats the way it is. I am therefore in favour of anonymity until a guilty conviction in the case of sexual offences or an offence against children.
  8. What a truly petulant post. Do YOU thnik Gashton will play against WHam ? How long do you think he will last, when he cant play 90mins after travelling down the road from a cosy pile in Chilworth or whatever a couple of times a week, with the afternoons off, having endured a ca. 10hour flight from South America (let alone jet-lag)? Will his performance even have justified him lacing his boots up, or will we at least get the satisfaction of seeing him plant a forearm smash that Mick McManus (RIP) would have been proud of when he cannot keep up with the physicality of the WHam defence ?
  9. Aw, who cares ? P*ssed off to South America and will be in no fit state for this weekend - again - because of it.
  10. Indeed. Gerrard may have had something else in mind but the natural first reaction was bound to be "eyes front" at the new boy after that comment. Thoughtless tw*t.
  11. For those defending or at least trying to rationalise Gerrards comment, please forgive me, but I thought Walcott and Milner were playing, so I am having trouble understanding why we were so "blunt" with those supreme talents on the field to support Rickie...
  12. It sounds like a rip-off of Stargate, imo. I think they all sound derivative, tbh. Enders Game (which sounds at this point the most interesting to me due to lack of decent synopsis info on some of the others at this time) sounds like Starship Troopers, Her sounds like a drawn-out rip off of the HAL/Bowman scenes from 2001, Catching Fire is a sequel, and Gravity may well be a cinematographers wet dream, but has it got a decent plot with only 2 actors or is it being hyped by the Hollywood inner clique because of who the two actors are ? From the pure Sci-Fi perspective, I am curious as to what the Wachowksi brothers (or brother and sister) have come up with, but even that has left me with a distinct Dune-y feeling..
  13. I was in the same year at Glen Eyre as his sister.
  14. Nope. I consistently either wanted England to lose or didnt care about the result, but now a Saints player is involved, I am interested. I think that is fairly obvious, and understandable. LOL at this skoolkid concept that its a weakness to change your mind about something Failing to see the point you are trying to make, to be honest, although I have noticed that your pithy attempts to destroy fellow posters with your sage opinion and/or barbed comebacks are more and more missing their mark with each passing day. Maybe you should accept that your time has been and gone, and you are getting a bit, well, boring....
  15. What a c**t... Exactly the scapegoating I have feared for the past week.
  16. Nicky Banger lived in Swaything when he was sarting out.
  17. Well, thats bullsh*t for a start. Most of the UK press are anti Syria intervention.
  18. OK, so why dont you clarify then ? IMO, you've advovated mass murder / genocide to solve the problem. Therefore, its no better than the Yanks.
  19. Dont hold your breath. I doubt he will ever come up to expectations now...
  20. Not perfect, but dramatically improved over the beginning of last season. A pity the front line have now lost their way. As can be seen by the fact hes getting them and assisting them for England, it aint Rickie's fault, and is most likely to do with managers tactics.
  21. In public, for public consumption, sure. I maintain that some of the governments in the area have more problems with their neighbours than with Israel, and would privately happily see Israel do said neighbour if they had to make such a choice. My prime suspects here are Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
  22. Absolutely bizarre. So I assume you advocate the use of more chemical weapons or mass bombardments in order to weed out the rebels from the civilian populations, and sod the number of them that get killed. I think you've been down there too long, pal.
  23. The joke might have had a bit more gravitas if you could actually spell his name correctly
  24. Isnt this good news ? Why has he "dropped a b*ll*ck" if he has found a way forward that averts war ? Why cant, for once, the response be taken at face value ? EDIT: OK, its a b*ll*ck dropped. Read the part about "Rhetorical argument". A pity, until now I though the US were genuine about stopping chemcial attacks.
  25. It wouldnt surprise me in the slightest; in my opinion until there is regime change in Iran there will never be peace in the Middle East. You seem to gloss over the fact that half the Arab nations in the area actually agree with Israel; they just cannot be seen in public agreeing with it.
