I would suggest you dont let the captains dinner burn as you desperately trawl our transfer history..... My last word on the subject: Looks like a sound piece of business, hopefully only the first, and we manage to kick on and come close to MPs target of being ready by July. Then maybe we can have a proper pre-season, for once.
-
You run with it, fella. We all know now, waiting for the end of August to do our business is f**king bullsh*t...
-
And so starts the abuse..... Not nice being shown up for a mug, is it ?
-
Hillarious. Really, the two faced-ness on here is astounding..
-
In so far as hes managed to pick one other example of us doing an early deal in living memory? Yes, but its bare-faced cheek by both of you to try and cite this as a norm at SFC. Especially as you both like to trot out the August activity arguments.
-
LOL, what a change in direction. Some of us have been saying that for ages, that there is NO reason we cant do early deals and have been frustrated by our tardiness, and have been roundly abused for it too by those who INSIST deals must be done in Late August because otherwise we make rushed expensive deals and miss out on a real bargain somehow.

Be quiet, TDD.

Anyone else not exactly thrilled by Lovren?

Why dont we wait and see how he does for a trainer and club that value him and want him ? -
I have to agree, this has been well executed, it seems. But you have to also admit, its come as a surprise and its out of character for our club. Can we stop this bullsh*t now about worthwhile deals can only be done in the second half of August ?
-
Yes, you are. Journalists are lazy, biased, self-opinionated and cunning. Strachan makes them look like the tw*ts they are. I miss him too. Ramirez wouldnt be lasting just 60mins if WGS were still here. He' play the whole 90 like a spring chicken or he'd be gone.

Me too. "Velocity". Absolutley superb reply.
-
Exactly the air of complacency that bothers me. I reckon next season will be as tough as this one.
-
Which part amuses you ? Dont see much wrong with that post, tbh.
-
Again, its too f**king late, and TOTALLY incompatible to MPs avowed intent of having everything stitched up by 1st July.
-
I am sure you am. My response is simple : "Business isnt that simple" is a cop-out.

What a load of garbage. You really are slipping. My first point is not a "non-point". In the eyes of many our transfer strategy last summer was "running before we can walk". We got in the likes of Mayuka and Ramirez when we should have been focussed on central defence. If we had made the right purchases with the right priorities, we wouldnt have had that bloody awful start to the season. And your second point is non-sensical. We didnt need to do a lot of transfers to step up for the NPC because the players were in place from the previous season to compete at that level. Last season when we stepped up to the PL was exactly like when Lowe was in charge of teams finishing 17th, leaving everything late when the team was screaming out for an infusion of new talent to be able to compete and because of that needing time to gell (I hate that word thanks to Burley)

Seeing as you singularly fail to understand my opinion it seems utterly ridiculous to assume you understand my motivation; You really come across as judgmental pompous excuse of an individual.

Different Ownership and Managment, same old summer

Thats your opinion. -

Yep, same thread each year. I think we leave stuff too late. A lot of you would applaud if we brought in our signings on the last day of the window, just because we brought players in, and b*ll*cks to if we lose half the season integrating them. Its called differing opinions. A least this attempt at mobbing me demonstrates that I am consistent. -
I think most fans would say they enjoyed the L1 promotion and NPC promotion more than last season, but perhaps the highlights last season (Chelsea, Liverpool ManC) were sweeter.
-
2011/12 was an anomaly, where we did most of buying in 2009 or 2010 for TWO seasons. Pardew even said that was the plan. We did just enough last summer to keep our noses up for next season, but I think we could have been 3 or 4 places higher if we had been more proactive and sensible last summer.

I read the fuller version linked into the link above, and I didnt see that comment explicitly. He seems to discuss his lack of playing time in a somewhat abstract manner, leaving the reader able to interpret his comments either way.
-
Its down to him to push himself up the pecking order and get himself off the bench. No-one is entitled to a free lunch. He can always drop down a division on loan if he wants more playing time.
