A very kind fixture list. We usually hit full form in Oct-Dec, and thats exactly when the tough games come.

I just finished re-watching DS9 on DVD. Still trying to decide how good that series was. I have some sort of nagging "but" in my head. Just started on Stargate Universe, having been seriously turned away from ST to SG about 10 years ago. Stargate Universe was massively panned, but I got it cheap on DVD from Amazon a couple of weeks ago so thought I'd give it a go. 4 episodes so far, and I have to say its fantastic. Grown up Stargate. Robert Carlyle is absolutely superb and has been doing these psychopath/sociopath roles so well, ever since Albie Kinsella alongside Robbie Coltrane in Cracker. Was worth it just for his acting.

Still penned in for 5:15pm start. However I have a feeling that will change. Fantastic news all round.

Apart from the fact that they will be going through a period of transition from Fergusson to Moyes. Until we see them play, we shouldnt hold fear of them.

Considering that WBA were one of a select handful of teams (arguably the only team) to ream our asses over both fixtures last season, thats one hell of a statement....

Hasnt it been confirmed to be Arsenal ? I think the fixture list is a set-up. All the big 6 get an easy early run to provide as tight (and entertaining) top-of-the-table as possible, and to allow the CL teams to come up to speed for that competition. Remember our first 10 games last season ? Expect something similar next season. Anyone remeber Wengers whine in a press conference about 10-odd years ago ? David Seaman came on and said it was cobblers.

No. And this isnt coming from the media, btw. Its just a few comments being made around my sons U-14 league; apparently a few of the players from the other teams have some sort of training academy up in Salzburg. I dont have any details, I'm afraid. Basically, the hear my sons accent, ask him where he is from. He says "Soton" (although he is born over here, dunno why he does that) and they say "they might be over here in the summer". Probably not as much as you hoped. sorry.

The problem I have with it a little is that I thought their season starts earlier than ours, so the dates wouldnt fit necessarily.

I get more pleased with this signing, and its timing, by the minute. We need a new Killer and Claus. By getting Dejan in so early, I am hoping the understanding at the back between him and Maya or Vegard, will be approaching such levels come mid-August.
