Anybody but a f**king footballer. Personally, I think the BBC should cancel this years award, FFS, how do you pick ? I could add another ten names to that list
-
all that guff about the fan ownership model being just and principled And it appears they havent learned a damned thing about mysterious Eastern buyers....
-
Nope, cant be bothered with your trolling, as exemplified by the highlighted section...
-
Wasnt aware Scholes had played for us.
-
Evidently not, considering both have already been called up in the past.
-
Which probably suggests they had already discussed him and he was on the verge of a call-up anyway.
-
Come on, 'fess up.... Which one of you plonked a tea-towel on your head and called Birchy, claiming to be from a Middle East consortium ???
-
Which is why I am slighty cynical about this. Meeting up with England squad will be a memorable experience for him though, and he wont have to pay for a ticket tomorrow night now..
-
The first real potential successor to Matty in terms of club standing, imo. And I say that as one who was fairly critical of him 2-3 years ago.
-
Chicken or Egg - did Neville get him the squad, or had Woy already talked about him to Neville when he made the comments ?
-
Are you for real ?
-
But it is a signal of intent - he's now on the radar scope, albeit at the fringes (if it isnt a PR exercise to counter recent criticism in the Press)
-
Why ? The England set-up brought a premature end to the career of the best player we've ever had, imo.
-
Well, cant argue with any of that. Just hope it gets handled correctly. Any of you going to make the trip now ?
-
Well done to Adam, pleased for him that hes received the honour. He is a worthy addition to the squad BUT (and somebody's got to say it...) Is this really good news ? Hodgson wont play him, he plays for the wrong club. Is there a space on the bench that needs to be kept warm or Woy gets in trouble with the top 4 clubs as their 100,000-a-week superstars catch a cold from the breeze from the gap ? This is NOT me putting Adam down (he has to be above Milner in the ability stakes), I think he can do a job for England. I am also not trolling or being negative for the sake of it. I am concerned about one of our most important players being f**ked around by the FA and England manager, just as MLT was, and the effect it might have on his club performances. I also seem to recall he (it might have been Drew Surman, but I dont think so) had a bit of a sticky billy-big-balls patch of substandard performances after Pearce called him up a few years ago. We need to be careful here, thats all I am saying. Will never forget my sons's team benched him for the next game after he scored 5 goals in an insane 15mins burst, just to stop him acting a prima-donna if it didnt happen next time.

Meanwhile, 70-odd pristine Harrier GR9s, recently refurbished to the tune of a cool 1billion, have been bought (for less than 10% of their value), lined up at AMARG, Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona, and uttterly stripped of anything of any value by a sniiggering US Department of Defence. Utterly sickening, will never ever vote Tory. Oh, and this was once HMS Invincible...

Only got as far as the picture of her being chopped up in Turkey. I hate the fact that we dont preserve war veteran naval ships like the Yanks do. How long until Plymouth is chopped up ?
-
In fairness I thought it was only Captain North that died. However, according to Wikipedia actually 12 people died on it, but as I said only 9 are listed on the memorial.
-
Bring back the Southampton Vikings... I follow the Erste Bank Liga myself (started this week too), teams from Austria, Hungary, Croatia and Czech Republic. My team of choice is VSV.
-
Not an avid follower, but likely to looking in on Jacksonville's results this year, seeing as they appear to England's adoptive NFL team for the next few years.
-
The memorial in London lists 9 dead.

Thanks for sharing your memories. I read about the Type 42 firemain issue before. Seemed like an insane design, but as we know, RN ships of the 70s and 80s were designed only with cost in mind, not capability. When the RN finally got to put a frigate to sea in line with their wishes, we got the Type 22 Batch 3 possibly the best frigate the RN has ever had. Regarding the modern ship issue, I thought Brilliant got clobbered aft and pulled through, and a couple of other 42s pulled through severe damage too (was it Cardiff or Exeter that sailed back to the UK with a mattress stuffing a hole just above the waterline ?)

Porquoi ? much as Bearsy is a loon, the "mugging off" rationale is as good as any.
-
Stick with Door 1. Actually, I am just guessing.

Yeah, but my comment about the Exocets wasnt called for - sorry to any ex-navy types that knew deceased from Sheffield, Atlantic conveyor or Glamorgan. The skate tw*t just got to me with his hubris.
