  1. I seem to recall that Jimmy Hill had a professional football career...
  2. Why would lordswoodsaints lie ? Remember, he claims to have spoken to Billy himself.
  3. Well, I am going to find out one way or the other, arent I ?
  4. Not fitting in with plans clearly indicates formations and tactics.
  5. Has he started turning up at Staplewood in a monogrammed tracksuit yet ?
  6. You state the formation, tactics and bench constituents as if they are Universal Laws of Physics. Quite ridiculous. I am beginning to understand how you in your own way cause so much irritation. I am telling you, that I would have kept one bench place for him as a "Hail Mary" option in the last 20mins. He is the best goal poacher we've had in a long time, possibly since Shearer. We are going to have to scrap it out a few times this season, undoubtedly. Where have I said I see him as part necessarily of the starting XI ?
  7. Thankyou. This is an important post, so much so it deserves to stay a separate thread. What have we learnt ? 1. Billy likes it here, didnt want him to go. 2. NA didnt want him to go. 3. NC is calling the shots with team building and tactics. Just great.
  8. Utter rubbish. I have been saying since mid-summer about the defence, because Fox and Fonte so worried me last season. When I complain about trasfer activity its about critical transfer activity. But hey, dont let the reality about me get in the way of a really good dig. Yes, whoopee, we have been active in the market. More forwards and midfield, so much so we let Billy Sharp, our talisman from the last third of last season, leave us unwillingly. But well done to Nigel Burley...erm...Adkins for convincing Ramirez. If you and a great fraction of our fan base want to jerk off to losing by a goal caused by weak defending but nevermind we played pretty attacking stuff, knowing it leads to relegation, then good for you. I would like us to fight to stay up, and if we do go down it is with a clear conscience that we did everything we could to stay up including having the right balanced squad to give it our best shot.
  9. Good luck to him, life goes on for us.
  10. If we managed to convince Ramirez, we should have been capable of convincing a couple of high-quality CBs. I simply think we didnt try hard enough, because we were concentrating on other things.
  11. You're entitled to your opinion. I havent abused you for calling mine ridiculous and indicating I need medical help though. Amazing. This is how it starts on here so often...
  12. Nope. I think you'll find earlier in this thread I admitted to struggling with this because I do feel sentimentality. I am also struggling with Fonte's p*ss-poor showings for a similar reason.
  13. What they going to build it with ? Imagine all the Leigh Park rejects donning their sack-cloths and building the new stadium like Egyptian slaves
  14. Wow, a cutting abusive remark. I'm devastated..
  15. So we've (the club and the fans) tossed out the player who pushed us over the promotion line last season on the basis of his first 15mins of the season. Talk about impatience/judgementality. Amazing how the likes of Goolie gets a 100 chances though...
  16. Or a Siemens. Same machines but a bit cheaper.
  17. I couldnt care less, the whole club and its fans are all over the place at the moment. Just like the blue-rise brigade, they are struggling to come to terms with the glory days being over.
  18. No little niggling doubts after Sunday's substitutions ???
  19. Why do some of you refuse to accept any culpability of the club ? Why is our lack of defensive strength/cover automatically someone elses fault ? "Because we must have been looking" ? Rightyho....
  20. I dont recall me saying we are having a problem scoring goals, but now you mentioned it, we failed spectacularly against Wigan, a much tighter game on paper.
  21. That post is kind of self-defeating, imo. The likes of the two Manchesters play open football and dont see the need to close us down, so let us play open football too. Billy Sharp is not suited to these sort of games, he is suited to tight niggly scraps, like we will get against a dozen other teams this season, where you take your one chance, even if it blasphemously comes from a set-piece or corner...
  22. I'm not going to give you the honour of putting you on ignore, then whine in an attention-seeking manner at everyone else for daring to quote you, but seeing as the majority of your posts for the last few days have been just trying to provoke an infractable offence out of me, this will be the last time I respond to you.
  23. If priority had been given, we would have been a lot more successful. The last part is bizarre. This site is full of assumptions, speculation, conjecture, just like you just trying to infer that priority was given defensive strengthening.
