Saints 2 Man United 3 - Post Match Reactions

Far too much common sense... -
You are f**king joking. That will be the dressing room spirit straight out of the window. This is the pr*ck that has fallen out with every new Austrian national team manager over the past 6 or 7 years (they've had a few) that dared to give him another chance

J rod diamond in the waiting or the new Steve de ridder?

Its too early to say. I would argue he needs to be given time. Its not fair on the lad, espeically if he is being used in a strange manner. I do however question the priority in time and funds his transfer was given over addressing the defnesive issues. And I have already made my feelings known about the favouring of him over Billy Sharp (to much derision..) -

This And this. Really seems strange talking about needing a GK, CB and LB in January when the window shut less than 48 hours ago. -

Well thats a bit complacent, considering the manner of the defeat to Wigan. The two Manchesters were arguably glamour ties where our boys raised their game temporarily. -

Didnt follow the game, just got back from my youngest's christening. Was this a case of Fergie Time ? Bit concerned by some of the comments on here, sounds like the manager lost the game by a strange tactical switch and it seems we've received further confirmation of our defensive/GK weaknesses, if it were ever needed. Sounds like we put up one helluva fight and were good going forward though. -
Yeah, this. Still having trouble with it, tbh.
-
Yeah, just caught that elsewhere. Thanks anyway.
-
Oh ? Thought Yoshida would have sneaked in too.
-
Suggests the club and fans will need to be patient with him and not get on his back, and not start immediately judging him against his price tag. God I hope this works out...

Agree with the last 2 statements, NA has been given 30 big ones to do his bidding and now must demonstrate results. But I simply cannot see NC with his European perspective overlooking all the great managerial prospects in Italy, Spain, etc. and thinking "Redknapp is the one" and turning a blind eye to all the business baggage that comes with him when it is so anathema to how he himself works. Why hasnt Redknapp already walked into another job ? Could it be this time hes not exactly inundated with offers ?
-
Wondering how bold NA will be with the line-up. How many of the new signings will feature. Rooney is out, isnt he ? Pity, him being missing leaves a space for someone who is not a useless fat tw*t.
-
How many promotions has Redknapp overseen ? Judging NAs PL career, on two games, is a wee bit premature. I think the whole comparison is a bit daft. Judge them when NA has been around as long as Redknapp. Redknapp is old school (and allegedly bent), Adkins is very much on the pulse of the modern game.
-
And there are absolutely no other aspects to his game that compensate, are there ? Every player has his weaknesses.
-
FF, the problem I have is I come on here during/after a game and read posts from people that claim to have been there, with opinions about players that are 180deg apart. Being at a game for me is not a reliable method for judging the accuracy of an opinion. Look at the HUGE abuse Guly gets whenever we play badly. It is ALWAYS his fault in some poster's eyes. My opinon on Billy is simply based on the critical and timely contributions he made to our promotion campaign last year. For me, combined with his good form in pre-season, means he was fully entitled to expect his shot at PL glory.
-
He's still a well-kept secret not being marketed by the media in England. Maybe when he has been around the block as often as Redknapp, the clamour might have made "Redknapp for England" sound like a barely-suppressed fart on an imitation leather chair. The "Redknapp for England" camapign was indicative of the scum and flotsam the England squad is populated with, and a theory of what might get them to play anywhere near how they play for their clubs.

I cannot see Cortese working in such a relationship with anyone he doesnt share vision with. The anecdotes about his relationship with Markus clearly show that there has to be some basis of mutual trust and respect there. Its not just about football matches for the likes of such businessmen.
-
You reckon Redknapp is a better manager than Adkins ? Have you taken leave of your senses ?
-
That worked out well in the end, didnt it ? Was always going to end in tears, even if there was plenty of fun for everyone along the way.
-
Nope. Simply facing up to the realities of the situation.
-
And Redknapp represents a higher calibre of manager, does he ? Are the sports editors of the red-tops really that stupid ? This story is designed to create mischief. Its a joke.
-
Well, I am not saying that would be the deciding factor. I just cannot see them working together, they are just about as far apart as you can be on business ethics.

This.
