You just know what is going to happen - some webchimp engaged by the club is going to be on the crapper at 6pm... And it will be a soggy one that takes him 20mins to clean his arsecheeks.

OS coul have gone with the dramatic touch of a clock counting down.

yes, yes. Very clever. I wondered if the page gets put up a few early to stop the server crashing at the official time.

If The9 was wrong, maybe he was a club plant. Certainly I wont be responding to any of his attention-seeking posts again. Time to dust off the ignore list.

Anybody F5-ing yet ? Do these things tend to be punctual ?
-
Oh, do shut up TDD. You go on about how long it takes for the "hate it" comments, I was wondering at what time you would be on here with your Über Fan "wet fanny" mentality. Havent you got a torpedo tube to load or some croissants to bake somewhere ?

How will you deal with the return to obscurity in 93mins time ????

Well done Stuart Pearce for refusing to allow the Olympic football tournament to turn into a PR media-branding f*ck-fest for the Beckhams.

He's never shown the ability to go from bridesmaid to being bride, which suggests a psychological weakness that will ever leave a question mark against how good he was.

Argentina upping the ante on the Falklands....

Not convinced. It might be 20000 tons but it still has a steering wheel. Things that would concern me most are things like securing properly to action stations, and fire fighting /evacuation. Reckon our boys were probably familiar with things like the radar and comms through NATO cross-training, though I conceed a few Yanks might be necessary as technical advisers. U.S. LPH ships have up and down buttons on the aircraft elevators like ours, do they not ? In a war situation, I think half the rule book is thrown away anyway. -
Looks bloody good to me on that video, though I cant tell how it looks from the stands. Could do with a bit of collar and cuff modernisation, though. Makes we want it even more..........

Oh, didnt know that. Can you tell what was so unappealing about it ?

To be fair, the pace of the war was so fast (70-odd days from invasion to surrender, only 40-odd days of engagement), it might have taken too long to get Iwo Jima into the theatre. If she'd been off Norfolk at the time Hermes or Invincible sank I reckon the RN and US volunteers might have got a skeleton crew together and at sea, within 36-48hrs, but with 2 weeks transit time, ammunitioning and drilling on the way, she would have had little time to have an impact. Also without the ski-jump the take-off weight of the SHARs would have been reduced, probably meaning they would have been restricted to carrying Sidewinders and drop tanks, so could only provide air defence and no close-support for the Army. Dont know if a ski-jump could have been cobbled together within the transit period. A SHAR weighs 12metric tonnes fully loaded. -
Oh sh*t just realised we're here already... Just 8 hrs to go...

Didnt you answer the question yourself ??? And when I said I wouldnt mind a return of the sash sometime, I meant without a sponsor. And personally, I have always liked the quarters. Are you that old that you remember the time when we wore it??? Blimey. Surprised you can remember it looking awful. I have a Cotton Traders red/white quarters rugby top and although I have to be careful washing it, it looks superb.

Apparently it massively opens up this side of the draw for Andy Murray. Pity he will choke it as usual....

the discussion appears to have been quite serious. -
For once I agree with a post of yours. Would like to see it again sometime though.

I personally dont like the A61 down the Rhine. Long, boring, usually full of roadworks, usually full of boy racers in Porsches. I prefer to go further east through Frankfurt.
