  1. Some people on here think I have surrendered my right to an opinion as to how Saints play because I live abroad and dont go to games. Surely by the same virtue, Scots that have emigrated should have no say how the country they have left behind is run ? Anyway, how do you decide who is Scottish ? They have no national ID card or passport.
  2. That is completely untrue. If NC has accepted the need for an extra player, perhaps even a striker, and has started negotiations with someone, than he has already budgeted for a least part of that increase. Besides, I also think a striker is not a magic wand. Rickie has done a pretty good job of staying fit or bouncing back (I do wonder how his suspension will go - will he lose his edge or will he be so sharp and envigorated that no-one will stop him ?). I am much more concerned about what I view as a somewhat passive/submissive midfield without Chaplow.
  3. 666 said on here yesterday that English students living in Scotland, planning to go to Scottish Unis, dont have to pay fees.
  4. Feels to me like a rubber-stamping exercise. I mean, there are a lot of real Unionists still out there, those in England in most cases who dont care about Scottish independence won turn up, and a lot of people oscillating between "F**k the Scottish" and "They arent going nowhere just to spite 'em" will vote for the latter just to get up their noses and get revenge for years of whining. I still remember the night of the Heysel Stadium disaster with Jimmy Hill fuming because the BBC switchboard was jammed with Sweaties compaining because Motty or Barry Davies had said "British football hooligans" as opposed to "English football hooligans" once. People were dying live on TV, and its not as if the Old Firm games pass with displays of flowers and white doves, is it ?
  5. I think it can only apply to all Permanent Residents / UK Citizens LIVING in Scotland, whatever their original nationality.
  6. But thats just plain ridiculous because of the big mis-matches in English and Scottish populations. In that case, its possible to argue such a vote is pointless.
  7. The question has to be about complete dissolution against complete unity of the UK then, if everyone votes. I cannot see how English, Welsh and Northern Irish can vote on Scottish independence.
  8. Dunno. I dont think its nostalgia per se making me write this, but if you look at Europe's pretty chequered history over the last ca. half a millennia, there has always been a UK; a foundation stone for European stability and civilization. On a certain level, it would be sad to see it break up. We arent talking about the USSR, Nazi Germany or the EU here...
  9. Reckon you are on to something there.
  10. Having not hear it myself, can you please confirm whehter you are being sarcastic or serious ?
  11. Pull the other one, Frank. Scottish universities are free to EU citizens or they are not. Last time I checked England was still a region within the EU. If you argue about some arse structural law issue in the UK that prevents English students going to Scottish universities free, I am just going to argue that the Scottish univiersities could waive the fees to English students in the spirit of equality, but they dont.
  12. Cameron can argue that hes giving the Scottish people what Pie-Face says they want at the earliest possible opportunity. Whichever way you cut it, it looks like the SNP playing the games.
  13. I dont. Pie-Face is playing games, and causing tension in England as well as Scotland. I think it is perfectly fine for Cameron to say, "enough, lets get this sorted now, once-and-for-all". Maybe the clever-deeeck Pie-Face has got too (ocky and overplayed his hand recently.
  14. Added to the fact that we already know NC hates agents and dealing with them
  15. The way I see it, sooner or later if we really are going for promotion, we are going to be exposed to the next level of transfer fee / wage demand. Therefore, I have no real issue if that is brought forwards 3 or 4 months for a couple of players to do our best to capitalise on our good league position now and ensure promotion. People who really think our wage struture and expenditure are going to remain unafected by promotion are cracked. There is supposed to be a huge financial boost when getting promoted to the PL, although the exact amount seems to be debatable, so I reckon finding a few extra 1000 a week to secure a couple of better players than the club would wish to maintain the spirit of the wage structure is a bit of a no-brainer. Couldnt care who it is for, as long it is players NA wants and thinks can do the job.
  16. Loser.
  17. Where have i said that ? I have said the difference between and promotion and not is NAs ability to being in who HE wants.
  18. Indeed. Pleased someone else sees that going that extra mile might make all the difference. Anything else feels like harking back to Rupert Lowe.
  19. So you would turn your back on the chance of signing the identified game-changer who could rescue our flagging promotion campaign for the sake of a few grand per week ? And you wouldnt support NA and NCs decision to do so if they so decided ? I disagree with you completely and whole heartedly. Not if it means waiting another season for promotion (maybe..)
  20. And of course your sneering patronising tone wasnt insulting at all.. want to have another go at answering a basic question ???
  21. What have I dreamt up, exactly ? I was referring to tried and tested methods.
  22. So, for any sensible person out there. If NA identifies a player, feels he is the missing link and wants him quite badly, should NC feel free and be willing to throw the wage structure out of kilter by a few thousand quid a week extra ???
  23. Oh, whatever. You clearly werent willing to discuss this sensibly, with your "Irrelevant, Irrelevant" comments like some Hollywood sci-fi B-movie mental computer.
  24. Yes, I agree its getting boring. I am supposed to be attention seeking, whereas in reality this nothing more than a whipping post. The purpose of the thread has failed somewhat, though there were a few decent contributions.
