  1. Still remember Bob Willis nearly killing Rick Darling down under with a bouncer when he swallowed his tongue and it was caught on gum. Yes, I think it is dangerous, I also think it makes supposedly talented sportsmen and managers (Fergie is also one of the worst culprits) look like the extras in a Lurpak butter advertisment.
  2. Show a bit more respect for what I've written and give it a rest with this mental illness jibe too.
  3. Seeing as the internet is now universally accessable, it seems reasonable to assume that a real cross-section of our fan base is represented statistically. So I would say yes.
  4. I reckon I've read every post on this thread, and I am going to think about my behaviour in some cases. I am a Saints supporter living abroad and most of the time this site is as close as I can get to following my team, so I dont want it to be relentlessly acrimonious. I am also reassured to see that some people do have balance, do value my opinion in some cases, and the mods are trying to be fair - its all I ask. I find it sad that there appear to be some people where a red mist descends when they see I have posted, amd sod the content. I also think it is very childish handing out abuse then hinding behind an ignore list. I think its their loss as well as mine. Oh, and despite what some of you think, this wasnt intended as a "look at me" thread. I wanted to find out if some people want to see differing opinions and lively discussion, and it is gratifying to see they do.
  5. I said afford his expectations, not exceed Leicester's offer. I would ask him what he wants, if we can afford it we agree to it, if Leicester then offer more, c'est la vie.
  6. Sounds so bloody reasonable when u put it like that. All I know is that the current squad wont keep us top. So lets see what new players this month brings. As has been painfully apparent, I am impatient.
  7. Described Ed Balls's behaviour in the HOC as like that of a Tourette's sufferer. Yes, it was ill advised, and yes, its not a nice analogy for people who have the illness or relatives with the illness, but having seen that slimy gits performance in the HOC on TV, I can see what Cameron was getting at. I'd pick the Mace up and club him with it, if I were Dave.
  8. Sorry, I didnt say I condoned getting into bidding wars.
  9. Do one of the following: Disable new card drive in device manager Uninstall the new card driver Go back to system restore point set before installing new card.
  10. Hmm. I dont know how to answer that. If NA/NC are still looking at him, they must think he can get the goals we need. Those goals are very important. The next consideration is can we afford his expectations. If the answer is yes to both, we should go for him. I dont see "value for money" comes into it, in the traditional sense. Being in the PL can increase our revenue by 90million quid, I read somewhere, though cannot remember over how long.
  11. Oh, come on !! Todays Coventry goal was almost the first kick of the game ! Thats hardly fair, I'd only just got to my PC.
  12. I havent looked to closely at City's form, but I seem to recall someone postin around the time we first played them that it had picked up. Are they really that bad ? I placed more stock on the Brighton result because it really felt like a Walls of Jericho moment, since so much went so wrong so quickly. It just seems to me, looking at both the BC and Brighton result, that teams who play in-your-face, niggly, physical football, can get a result against us, and we are going to see more of this now. Its great to watch silky feet-to-feet stuff, and there is a place for that in the PL, but we have to get there first.
  13. See, you make it sound like it is deliberate. It is not. I write what I feel. Maybe I shouldnt post during games. But it makes me feel like I am part of something I sadly cannot physically attend.
  14. Depends on our financial situation; if we can afford it, why not ?
  15. Sorry friend, it stopped being relentless as soon as I posted something that was not negative.
  16. Hypo, looking at that team sheet and how the first half went, I dont believe anyone who claims they were confident we could turn that around. I predicted 3 goals based on Coventrys chances and weight of posession. It could have been that up to NAs substitutions if Coventry had played someone who can shoot today. Do you get arsey when we are parked in a teams half and we are 1-0 up and someone says "we'll get 4 today" ?
  17. Then I suggest you look up "relentless" then. It means without a break.
  18. You tell me how you hear anything different in the stands at SMS. I am reacting to the game in a similar way to many that are there.
  19. Oh, so we are only allowed to predict 3 goal wins for saints ? No-one moans about other peoples predictions.
  20. I never said they arent doing anything. You dont know the dynamic in the activity, maybe NC is playing more Elliot Ward type tricks. You know he hates agents. The "slack" you referred to maybe time or games that our promotion campaign cannot afford. Imo this season is shaping up to be a tight promotion battle. I dont think we can afford 4 weeks to complete our transfer activity - thats 4 or 5 games, 12 or 15 points.
  21. Well, thats you holed below the water line, because whilst I would describe that lot as "emotional", I would not describe it as "relentlessly negative"
  22. Your point being ? It was going tits up in the first half with that team and that formation. True, Bart got a confidence boost, I'll grant you that. Coventry could have put us to the sword in the first half. They had enough chances. At FT we had something to smile about, but serious work remains Using ignore is still odd, imo. Nothing I wrote there was that wide of the mark.
  23. Yes, I am guilty of overlooking this, maybe because I assumed this was a natural consequence of his loan deal back in October. So it feels like old business and not strengthening.
  24. I know I've been quite loud this week, but really the Brighton result needs to give a few people a kick in their complacency in my opinion, club officials and fans alike. And I see this as a major issue. Watching our decline the following season after losing to Derby on penalties makes me think we will not get as good a chance for promotion as this for a long time. The 2nd half today has mollified me a little, since maybe we really can hold the fort without Rickie somehow.
