I guess last season was as good as it will get; I guess success has gone to the board's head just like it did under Lowe. Well I will never forget that run-in. Was fun while it lasted.

I dont know why we didnt ambush Chambers to Boro, if a RB is REALLY so critical. But then, I dont know why Cuco couldnt continue to deputise. Just to make a lousy 1m profit ?? F**k off...

The squad is considerably weaker, particularly for goal-scoring and DM, and Boufal is probably only going to be available 50% of the season. 3/10.

I personally expect no more movements in or out. The Echo is going on about the RB situation, but I suspect Pied's injury occurred too late to organise a decent replacement transfer. Besides, this one leaves a bad taste in my mouth because it seems we are purely going for a profit on Martina I guess J-Rod will stay, since we dont want to cough up for another striker clearly, and I guess the Fonte contract issue will go unresolved, maybe until January. Bearing this in mind, I would like to state my opinion about what a p*ss-poor window this has been. We lost Mane, Wanyama and Pelle from the first XI, and signed two injured players. Outstanding.

Extensions are all about standing still while other clubs advance. And we've had limited quality incomings and a lot of quality outgoings. Wanyama and Mane currently look irreplaceable, so we just havent bothered.

Just spoke to a French colleague who is a big football fan. Boufal is a mouthy sod, but a fantastic player. Comparison with Mahrez is not without grounds. He couldnt believe he signed for lowly Southampton...

I dont disagree. But I feel an air of complacency has set in. How on earth he could be so brazen as to let it be publicly known that Pelle didnt need to be replaced, I will never know. And we've had a year to find a replacement for Mane. And lets not forget all the "We're optimistic xxx will sign an extension" releases that have gone tits-up.
