  1. We only need a couple of CCC clubs or PL clubs to come in for our couple of our currrent players for the situation to become "wholesale" again, imo. And by then, the available options will have become limited. We all agree about hitting the ground running in August. I find it shocking that a contingent of our fans think leaving team strengthening until the end of July / early August is a sensible idea.
  2. Its called OPINION. Deal with it. Abuse is against the site rules (for some of us, at least)
  3. Wow, deja vu. I remember almost exaclty the same crap post from you the season that Burley decided to start against Crystal Palace without any recognised CBs.....
  4. Is this crass comment really necessary ?
  5. Remind me again how long it took to get our first win, and tell me if that would be compatible with a sustained automatic promotion campaign if it occurs again this year...
  6. Exactly. We get to the beginning of August, Lallana and Schniederlin f**k off, and we are left scrabbling around for second-rate replacements.
  7. Ridiculous. Who has got them ? Those incompetent toe-rags from Uruguay ?? I remember that the Argentinian got the final in 2006 as his reward for sending Rooney off.
  8. Sorry, my bad. We signed a 4th LB.
  9. Nice to see your usual self-restraint, Wazzer...;-)
  10. disagree with both points. 1. We have no recognised RB, we need another playmaker in CM, and we have limited options up front since Papa and Antonio are gone 2. The season is only about 5 weeks away, and we need to get through the proverbial "gelling" b*ll*cks. And all the excuses for no activity in June appear to have ellapsed, to me..
  11. Its July 1st, and supposedly every contract in english football has ended or been dissolved. The World Cup, that other great block to trasnfer activity in the third Division of the English Football League, is almost over. The domestic game has been ended long enough for players and managers alike to buy and bring home their straw donkeys, kiss-me-quick hats and crap paintings of flamenco dancers. So all of those huge inconveniences to NC and AP bringing new players in, according to many of you, are gone. Whats your new excuses ????????
  12. Agree with the general gist of the post, but reckon you've been a bit too generous to the current England team about their abilities.
  13. After you have done an English course and corrected your god-awful spelling...
  14. At this moment in time, I see no evidence of tight-fistedness on the playing side from Cortese. He is simply trying to maximise revenue for sustainability whilst testing how far he can really push the fans to cough up. However, 1st July is almost upon us, and if we see no team strengthening over the next 2 weeks, the alarm bells that we have another Lowe on our hands should start ringing. Maybe some of the "In AP We Trust" brigade can ask themselves if some of the revenue-boosting schemes coming from the club (at the expense of the fan) are due to their Messiah Above Reproach failing to get us to the playoffs last season despite huge team investment.........
  15. Such a little w**ker. Really impressed with David Villa. His goal last night, and that against Chile, simply demostrate super sharpness, strength and determination, the sort of qualities so completely lacking from the England team.
  16. Never entered my mind, but thanks for the suggestion - not a bad idea.
  17. You havent a clue what you are talking about. A continuing trend, it seems. Wanna go and look "trend" up and correct me on that too ????
  18. Two words : Milan Mandaric. all the explanation you need.
  19. yawn..... go out and get a life...
  20. Hmm, I was of the same opinion as you in the initial aftermath of the game, but as time has gone on, I am of the opinion that this is not the case. Look, we know that English players are sh*te on technique. but they play an extremely fast and agressive type of football that when it is in full tilt, it is difficult to stop. England came back into this game like a hurricane. We got our goal, and within two or three minutes of pressure got the second goal. that was such a swing in momentum, that Germany were punch-drunk at first, as was shown in the first 20mins of the second half, when it was ALL England. If that goal had gone in, the england players would have been up, the adrenalin pumping, high on energy, but would not have resorted to such desperate risk-taking and panicking. that second half would have looked completely different. Yes, maybe we would have gone out on penalties instead. Actually, I dont know if that would have beena good thing or not. If we had gone out on penos as gallant unlucky losers, no agonising, introspective analysis or demand for change would be going on....
  21. Scholes would have made that ridiculous mis-firing midfield work a lot better, purely by the act of displacing Lampard, before even considering his contribution.
  22. Hence why some us were so p*ssed at our last season's play-offs campaign falling apart at this bastions of football history such as Wycombe, Tranmere and Exeter... Its one step forward and one step back with Saints...always.
  23. Damning statistics for England, methinks... I liked the criticism from Juan Sebastian Veron about how we do things, also in the Mail yesterday. He reckoned when he was at ManYoo, they'd turn up in training and wouldnt do any proper preparation like warm-up. It would be -5degC, and Paul Scholes would go straight out and tw*t the ball 50 yds into an empty net. He reckoned if he did that he would have pulled every muscle in his leg from thigh to ankle. Our football really is in the Dark Ages, along with many other things about our country.
  24. Whatever happened to Crucial Brew ?
