  1. West Ham went down in 2003 then up again when we went down, so we just passed like ships in the night. Don’t remember a cup game so guessing we didn’t play them at all between 2003-11. It’s got to be Palace, surely. They were a season behind us getting promoted but aside from that and league 1, we’ve been together since 2004. They’ve been here in the cups a few times too.
  2. 2. One of them has to be MK Dons. 3. Norwich surely
  3. Other way around. Got to be Bolton I'd have thought. We would have played them four times before getting relegated and we certainly lost the last two. Think they beat us in a Cup game some time in that lower league quagmire.
  4. Or more likely, he’s been seeing Ralph day in day out for the last year and is quite capable of having a proper goodbye in person. We weren’t in a relegation fight, he wasn’t vital to staying up.
  5. 543 Premier League appearances between JWP and Romeu.
  6. Funny you should say that, with 10 minutes to go yesterday 46 points and a -7 GD would have put us… 15th exactly where we ended up anyway. Late goals against Villa and Brentford mean Puel’s team would have finished 13th, above the Bees on GD.
  7. I believe the zookeeper just said no missionary position, to reduce the risk of airborne, face to face transmission. They’ve relaxed it now that we’re all vaccinated.
  8. Nobody is going to sell those players at anything like what we can afford. Danny Ings was a 29 year old with injury problems who just about averages in low double figures, when we sold him last summer. Even Long, when we signed him 8 years ago, was £12m (about £25m in today’s money). We can’t afford decent players with PL experience, we just can’t.
  9. So your point is nothing to do with experience, you just want better players. We have experienced players at this level, they just aren’t very good. My mistake, typo.
  10. So what are you saying? Saints have got 3 or 4 experienced players, over 30 but we need to be more like the top teams, who have 3 or 4 experienced players, over 30?
  11. That’s basically the antithesis of what we’ve been doing recently. Hardly anyone we’ve signed recently has been a player we’d realistically expect to sell for a profit. Liv being the exception but if you think we shouldn’t have signed him for £5m you need psychiatric counselling. We have signed an experienced, 30+ player in Walcott. He’s just useless and hasn’t developed the squad at all.
  12. So you think a premier league team having £22m to replace their best defender and striker is perfectly reasonable, Ralph has just spent the money poorly? There are much better players out there for that price which Ralph overlooked?
  13. You think the club will just let players leave on a free when we can’t afford replacements?
  14. Ralph doesn’t sign players. He will no doubt have some input but it’ll very much be driven by what we can afford.
  15. We have never at any point this season been close to relegation. We sank back towards the bottom three in the final third of the season but we never looked like being dragged into it. People keep saying, "well what if we’d been even worse?" Or more bizarrely, "what if there were another 3 fixtures?"
  16. Of all the people to pick a fight with, PV wouldn't be at the top of my list. Reminds me of that clown who broke into Duncan Ferguson's house.
  17. There should be a rule; if any supporters enter the pitch before the away players have left, their teams gets disqualified. It’s happening again at Port Vale.
  18. Being sh*t and being the best defender we have aren’t mutually exclusive. Quite the opposite.
  19. No, he’s saying you will only able to wash them with Surf detergent.
  20. Vale against Swindon goes to E.T. Remember when we couldn’t buy a point against Swindon for love nor money in League 1.
  21. I agree, I’ve never ever felt like it’d be them that were going down. They had the players to stick four wins out of five together, even against Chelsea or Man United.

If I were Zelenskiy I'd just refuse to negotiate with Putin from now on. I'd tell him his army will soon collapse anyway and he'll be left with nothing, so there really is nothing to be gained through dialogue. It may be optimistic but I'd just tell Putin to enjoy his last 6 months as president before they hang him from a lamp post.
  23. "Only Ashley Barnes knows if that was deliberate." I think a few of us can also have a guess.
  24. McCarthy is sufficiently capable of being backup to whoever our number one 'keeper is next season. He will make mistakes and be a weakness when he plays but nobody significantly better than him is going to sit on the bench at Southampton.
