I'd imagine most of them are on a last chance to prove they're good enough. The players out on loan (and Gallagher) will be 22-24 by the end of the season, about the age most of them will be moved on if they're not good enough. Sims may get another season.

Against the team that had Origi instead of Salah, Mignolet instead of Allison, Lucas instead of Keita, Matip instead of Van Dijk, Mané injured and when Firmino was rather mediocre. Basically we kept Coutinho quiet (for once) and that was it.

Austin is slow, unfit and we've had some very poor performances with him on the pitch, due to his lack of movement and putting no pressure on defences.

Mock all you like, it’s largely true. We really aren’t intelligent enough as a team to create the kind of chances Gabbi would be scoring. If nothing else, he’s got to be better than Austin. I’m not saying he’s great but we’ve already resorted to Long starting and telling ourselves we’ve ‘given it a go’.
