We've proven we can at least play well. We have the talent and plenty of Premier League experience, even if a lot of it is mediocre. I'd certainly rather be us than Burnley, Newcastle, Udders or Cardiff. West Ham, Brighton and Fulham are hardly impressive either. Today was a small improvement on Leicester, which was a small improvement on Burnley (performance wise). I think we will be okay. We have at least settled on a starting 11, something Puel and MoPe never did.

I thought Hoedt had a good game, likewise Vest. It was silly mistakes from set pieces by Long and JWP which lead to the goals, nothing to do with Hoedt.

I'd imagine most of them are on a last chance to prove they're good enough. The players out on loan (and Gallagher) will be 22-24 by the end of the season, about the age most of them will be moved on if they're not good enough. Sims may get another season.

Against the team that had Origi instead of Salah, Mignolet instead of Allison, Lucas instead of Keita, Matip instead of Van Dijk, Mané injured and when Firmino was rather mediocre. Basically we kept Coutinho quiet (for once) and that was it.

Hopefully that will earn him a start in the next couple if games.

Me neither, nor indeed most fans on here IIRC. West Ham signing a squad full of expensive, big name marquee signings, with a ‘one last pay day’ manager is always a recipe for hilarity. They will gel, to an extent, and the individual quality they have will be enough to avoid the drop. Can’t see much long term cohesion in it though.
