Can't understand any fans wanting to go at all TBH. We all saw the chaos they caused in France, imagine what they'll do in their own back yard with all the proper nutters who couldn't travel last time.
-
I'd go with the usual back 5, then: Lemina - Hojbjerg Sims - Gabbi - Tadic Obafemi 2 strikers, 2 young lads with pace and confidence. Let's see where that gets us.
-
He was. The fact that he has proved inadequate due to injuries is a different matter. With Austin, Long, Jay Rod, Tadic, Redmond, Boufal, Davis, JWP and Sims all fighting over 4 places, we had enough players. It’s the quality of them which is the problem.

Can’t help but have that Bristol Rovers cup game in my head, the one when Lambert scored against us.
-
For me, things were going reasonably well for Reed until the 2017 January transfer window. Puel, at the time, seemed like a reasonable appointment. Boufal, Hojbjerg and Austin seemed like decent replacements for Mané, Wanyama and Pellè. As the season wore on things didn’t quite go to plan but I don’t blame Les for sticking with CP when we had a cup final and were in no real danger of going down. What really smacked of incompetence was selling Fonte without any kind of replacement and the subsequent Caceres saga. Since then it has become apparent his long term replacement is in fact Stephens. A very average, cheap as chips academy player. The epitome of Lowe-esq false economy.

He’s a mediocre player being terribly utilised.

Don’t be daft. Everyone knows the Hare Krishnas are obsessed with internet trolling.
-
Obvious troll is incredibly obvious... But still gets bites.
-
Pardew had us 2nd bottom of League 1 (even without -10) with a stronger team than that.
-
I’d have thought they’d be more interested in flinging it at their own players/staff/owners these days. Perhaps we should all bring a pint or two along to chuck at the players, or perhaps even a pitcher and some plastic cups to share around.
-
Doesn’t necessarily mean he is wrong in either instance. Changing your mind doesn’t make you wrong. Not changing your mind when presented with overwhelming evidence to the contrary makes you wrong.
-
I honestly think we should all vote Jordie Clasie as a protest.

2 fundamental errors here. 1. You seem to be assuming that a club 8th in the premier league is worth exactly the same as one bottom half of the championship, minus the £75m for Virgil. He wouldn’t even get half of £125m when he try’s to ‘walk away from the club’. 2. You seem to think GAO got every penny of the £75m into his personal account, up front, no questions asked. For a start 20% of the club is still Kat’s. Celtic get a big chunk, £10-15m was quoted, not to mention the various other fees involved in trading a player. Actually three fundamental errors, your also assuming there are no laws against what is essential fraud, money laundering and doing a runner from a company which is essentially bankrupt with hundreds of millions in embezzled cash.
-
Because Boufal is a show pony who does little other than tricks and head-down dribbling which leads to nowhere. The real question is; why aren’t Sims and Gabbi starting?
-
It’ll be good practice for next season.

I notice this is another game deemed too big for tw*t-haired dildo nose. Shame.
-
As a plan goes, that’s like buying a successful airline and selling all the planes to make money. Selling all the best players will do nothing but hurt the company. How much do you think Saints will be worth if were bottom half of the Championship with nobody left worth selling, only average players on big contracts, who nobody wants, like Long, Carrillo and Davis.
-
Correct. The idea that the owners somehow make a massive wedge of cash from going down is absurd. Remind me again which billionaires made their fortune from buying expensive, successful companies, ruining them deliberately and flogging them for next to nothing when bankrupt?
-
If I was a position in my job where someone above me was overruling my decisions on the main elements of my job description AND doing it very badly AND allowing everyone else to think it was through my own incompetence, I’d resign immediately. Only an utter mug would allow that kind of situation. You might as well say MoPe is a top European manager but Gao emails him the team sheet and tactics the morning before each game. Or perhaps Forster is The worlds number one goalkeeper but he is under specific orders from Gao to wait one second before diving for any shots.

All of our recent trips NE have been decent. Won at Boro and Sunderland last year, think we beat Sunderland with a late penalty the year before, there was the year Eljero Elia scored two at SJP, a draw at Sunderland which basically ensure our safety first season and I think another 1-1 at Newcastle one year. Not too shabby overall.
-
He’s been in a non-playing role for 18 months now. I struggle to believe he had no input on the coaching side at all, before Black was fired.
-
Forster has been underperforming almost continuously since Kelvin joined the coaching team, so why would he be any tougher on poor performances than MoPe is now? If anything I’d worry about him being too cosy with all the players and staff and being ‘one of the lads’.
-
We’ve been decent in the North East since we got promoted, aside from that Fox/Hooiveld ‘mare in our first season back up.

Genuine question, which bids for our best players did Cortese turn down? It’s the first I have heard of this.
