Interesting snippets from BBC Sportsday: Son Heung-Min's agent claims a host of Premier League clubs were interested in signing the South Korea striker, 20, before he completed a £8.49m move from Hamburg to Bayer Leverkusen. Thies Bliemeister told German paper Bild: "Liverpool, Tottenham, Fulham, Southampton and Cardiff were interested in concrete terms. At the beginning and Manchester City. Chelsea and Manchester United have observed Son." and Lorient's former Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere, 30, is wanted by Everton, Swansea, West Ham, Sunderland and Southampton, as well as Lyon and Marseille, L'Equipe is reporting. So we're definitely on the look out for a striker, which is good - would have been delighted with Heung-Min, not so much Aliadiere...

Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse says he will not be happy with another year among the substitutes after his debut Premier League season. Ward-Prowse started Saints' first match of the campaign against Manchester City but began just three more league games. In total the teenager made 11 league substitute appearances and he is desperate to prove himself next season. "I am only 18 but I'm not content sitting on the bench," Ward-Prowse tells BBC Radio Solent. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/22851967 (11.59) So will he look to go out on loan next season, or played in a more advanced position and perhaps move up the pecking order ahead of Davis? Can't see him dislodging Cork or Morgan....

This doesn't tie up for me....he signed for Madrid when he was 7 in 2007 according to the article, and so should be 13/14 now, not 16. Also this article: http://www.****heroeadvertiser.co.uk/sport/football/local-football/****heroe-pupil-earns-southampton-contract-1-5739313 mentions being from the Blackburn youth academy, but doesn't mention Madrid which is a bit odd... Sure it's the same player?

With regards to (iii), I agree, and a player in the Yaya Toure mould (i.e strong, powerful and direct) would be perfect.

Don't think there will be, is on 5LiveExtra though. -
Anyone else think Butterfield could be a decent option right midfield for the remainder of this season? Probably not the time to be experimenting and he isn't exactly a long term option but the fact he delivers such good crosses from deep I feel would work perfectly with Richardson overlapping.
