Still infuriates me that we refused to recall him and instead brought back garbage bednarek. It is really going to annoy me that we’re going to end up selling him this summer if he ends up thriving in premier league. Meanwhile our mega bucks Buy will likely run off back to France on loan because we’re now in the championship.
-
They are probably thinking it worked for Arsenal, signing the young relegated keeper. So let’s try it.
-
If we lose, fair enough have at him.
-
What bigger picture, guaranteeing relegation & ensuring Jones gets as big a pay off as possible.
-
Yeah I can not get my head round people who want to create an atmosphere to destroy what little confidence is left in saints players, in a huge relegation six pointer.
-
Are you sure. I’ll be interested how all these mega bucks signings react to prospect of playing in the championship.

FA Cup Fifth Round Draw - Grimsby (h)

Tv company betting on jones vs Luton and losing out. -
More likely that spending a fortune in January will set us back years. Burnley showing that going down and clearing house isn’t necessarily a terrible thing.
-
We’re bottom of table. Will likely stay there even if we win this weekend. No team has ever stayed up going through 3 managers in a year. So yeah I can understand why they’d prefer to stick than twist at this point.

Ralph's not coming back. That bridge is burnt imo. Personally I'd take bielsa managing the u23 option ahead of next season (What he wanted to do at everton). Otherwise I'm pretty much what's the point in dredging the barrel for an interim (pretty much guaranteeing relegation) and maximising Jones payout. Wait to the summer and clean house(assuming we don't see a sudden upturn)

Marsch sacked at Leeds and our spineless board dither
Baird of the land replied to Andrew Watson's topic in The Saints
You do realise our board acted much faster than Leeds. If they'd dithered Ralph would still be in charge. -
Curious which way this game will go. A win to (temporarily silence detractors) or a heavy defeat. I don't there being much chance of it being a dull 0-0 draw.

Please no Bednarek
-
No team has ever stayed up via 3 appointments. Just wasting more money, when there will be better managerial options to come in afresh in the summer when they aren’t being asked to come into relegation fight.
-
Honestly don’t see the point in trying to bring someone else in at this point. Let it run to the end of the season and re-evaluate then.
-
What confuses me is bringing back the useless git Bednarek. It's not like we were being a leaky sieve, in January averaging 1 goal conceded, bring bednarek back in for 2 games an avg of 2.5 goals conceded.

Hard to rank them Technically Early season abk looked best. However given his injuries he’s not there currently. salisu has error in him but has recovery pace which is important DCC looks the dominant aerial/leader so think he has place in a pairing unless you are playing a team with lightning pace. Lyanco is nowhere near as bad as some here would make out. No fan of bednarek.

Poll: how do you think our League season will end?
Baird of the land replied to SNSUN's topic in The Saints
Think it is going to be tight. I tend to be more glass half empty so i’ve Plumped for nail biting relegation over survival. -
Can’t see kwp being right, no point risking a major hamstring injury. Haven’t seen enough of Bree defensively so i’d Opt for lyanco at rb and versatility and extra aerial ability another cb gives us. Equally while I hope we get to see both new signings it is probably pushing it to throw them in from the start. Going to be a tough game against a good team, hopefully we can sneak a draw. Bazanu, Lyanco, DCC, Salisu, perraud, Diallo, Lavia, jwp, edozie, orsic, Adams.
-
Hopefully Onachu works out like Pelle did for us. Hard to guage window. Got my concerns about spending so much on the speedy winger in particular(when we could just have brought back tella) . Hope turns out to be another Mane. Signing the veteran Orsic, who so far has looked off the pace also a notable concern. Worry is that even if we stay up we may have to balance the books with summer sales to make up for this spending spree.

Don’t get the hatred some have for him.

Southampton(1) 1-2 (3)Newcastle - League Cup Semi Final - Second Leg
Baird of the land replied to Chez's topic in The Saints
Manager got the starting formation wrong. I can understand the thought process to keep it tight and get them nervous. Don't think it is a hanging offence but hopefully he'll be man enough to admit that.3 at the back just doesn't work for us, we just end up with a disorganised 5 at he back. Much better when we switched it. We still lacked much real threat/quality despite the possession dominance in 2nd half. Really hope club can pull off at least 1 attacking signing. Armstrong is such a nothing player, wasted such a golden chance to at least get us the draw. -

Che was in the right. he'd pulled into space and once again edozie needed to get his head up and show compsure -
