I'm hoping there's not a relaxation dip from making him permanent.

Yeah there’s definitely seems to be a difference in approach to other religions. Also find it nuts that her stating basic biological facts is apparently a breach of snp’s nutty rules. -

I find the whole changing language in dahl's books repugnant. I find it scary the examples that puffin consider unprintable too. -
Curious to see if we can stop any new manager bounce by them. At the time he was sacked by Watford I felt Gracia was harshly done by but he didn't perform when he went back to Spain afterwards. I can cope fine with moi I just don't want bednarek. He wasn't as horrendous as normal last week but I don't buy this he was great argument.
-
Yeah i’d still drop bednarek if salisu is fit or if dcc emerges from the woodwork. Huge game, can’t afford to lose it. hopefully we can really go for it and don’t get stage fright.

AMN had a good game and it's interesting that Selles picks him out as being a key skill player (alongside ABK & JWP). -
Most likely Selles gets the short term gig till end of the season unless something odd happens. I'd hope they hold off doing anything official until after the Leeds game at the earliest.

Still not a fan of Bednarek starting. AMN did very well today. What i liked from Selles was that he made subs at good times, womething that Jones(last week) and Ralph before him were very poor at. We rode our luck somewhat 2nd half but its important that we made the most of it. Puts us back in the race.(just seen other results, if we hadn't got that win we were dead) A very strong game from Bazanu too, good timing as he's been poor, whilst we've only had a 40 plus backup. -

To be fair i can sort of understand Moi, i'm not a fan but he did play an important defensive role last time we played chelsea. Equally can sort of get AMN if KWP isn't ready to start. It's the garbage Bednarek selection i can't fathom at all. With Bednarek playing that's a minimum 2 goals conceded if form holds true. -

Has bednarek got some blackmail material on the club. Pathetic that after last week where he walked the ball into his own net he still manages to make the team. -
Appointing a guy who got sacked by a relegation rival this season, because they thought he was getting them relegated, doesn’t fit the definition of logical to me.
-
The idea mooted was that if it is going to be selles till the end of the season, When we've sacked all of ralph's and Jones' coaches surely there's a void to be filled at the very least by some sort of short term coaching/assistant hire. Hence why an experienced veteran manager as assistant with saints connections was suggested.(So Selles gains someone to support/bounce ideas off who has been there before)
-
He is at the right point in his career that he might do a temp combo act, rather than pursuing his own long-term solo management career. Being a club legend is obviously the reason why he jumps to mind, also maybe a reason he might do it like shearer/brooking jumped into the fire at Newcastle / west ham etc. would some other veteran ex premier league manager(hodgson /allerdyche) even want to come in to play that supporting role?
-
Depends on what you think we need right now. If they are going with Selles, you'd hope it is with thought of it likely being cheap and most likely temporary(unless he blows the bloody doors off) with view to appointing right man for promotion in the summer. In which case Selles could likely do with some support whether that's a coach or an experienced head to bounce ideas off.
-
I don't really get this argument. Is Shearer legacy at Newcastle tarnished because he tried to keep them up once and failed. I certainly wouldn't feel any differently about those great years if he accepted if asked to come help Selles out until the summer.
-
Managing Bristol City at the moment isn't he
-
Yeah, Someone well liked, with experience of both the club and the division. If he'd be happy coming in alongside Selles on a short-term basis till the end of the season it seems like it would make a fair amount of sense. Beware though, people will try and spin it that you want him to be the new long-term manager.
-
I'd disagree with this. In the summer we won't be tainted with relegation on CV and manager will have free reign to shape squad, that's when you'll likely get a better manager options.
-
Isn't it essentially the Mark Hughes situation. Take over a club hovering around relegation zone , finish just right side of line(whether down to what they do or poorness of other clubs) but as we learned to our cost that didn't make him a good manager.
-
What do you mean touted, wasn't he the only one interviewed. His record certainly doesn't make him stand out. I've said for me Benitez is the pedigree candidate if we really want to jump into bed now, no clue if he'd be interested or if he's touted beyond being a number in bookies list. I'm fairly relaxed with a caretaker like Selles (if i take out the emotion of being a saints fan and the data shows we are a poor team, with very low points and highly likely to go down), so i'd be happy to get the right long-term candidate in the summer than throw more money away and likely time next season on a poor recruitment choice now.
-
Well its abundantly clear we disagree wholeheartedly that Marsch is that miracle worker. Sports Republic must view he's not a great long term gamble or else they would have accepted being lumbered with him in the championship. It's not unrealistic, teams put caretaker's in as recently as last season(that team is top of championship with their new long-term manager).
-
Thought it was the Leeds game where fans were sure he convinced Ralph to sub Bednarek. Jesse marsch was struck blind, deaf and dumb by the move that's why he did nothing to counteract Saints scoring twice (or maybe he secretly wanted to become saints manager)
-
Does it? Unless they offer him a contract it seems much more let's keept things ticking over till the summer.
