I've never understood how professional footballers, who can all hit the ball way harder and more accurately than I could ever dream of, can't score penalties. They pass it pathetically towards the goal with the assumption that the 'keeper will just dive the other way. Hit it, man! Except Tadic. He should never take another one.

So, I've just arrived back. What's happened?

1) I'm surprised Bertrand hasn't been more of a leader at the back. Otherwise, yep, need VvD back plus A.N.Other this summer. 2) I think (1) might cover this, or extra rugby-style 'conditioning' sessions in the gym for all. On the other hand I'd say a more mobile AM, a la Coutinho, who other teams don't want to have on the ball with an inch of space in their half - I think JWP was meant to be in this role, passes well, but he's not mobile enough & doesn't score nearly enough.

I'd love to see it, but maybe clued-up defences & slick pitches don't help. The ball just squirts away.

I'm about as far from ITK as it's possible to be, so I hope you're right. I personally think he'd be a fool to sign for any other PL club. If he does go anywhere, then a major Champs League force would be a better choice (Real, Bayern, etc).

I'll ignore the bad ones. But I will add another: Yoshi - he's really stepped up.

I'm genuinely puzzled as to how this is 'trolling'. Constant negativity, to the point of repetitive distraction or sarcasm, ok fair enough that's wind-up merchant on cruise control. But this (post 125 for reference) seems to be a reasonable response to a good point. I'd suggest your post is more in danger of receiving a disciplinary measure. Might want to tone it down a bit. Anyway, back to the game. Glad Hoj had a reasonably good game: maybe DM is a better position for him - prevents him trying to shoot, at least. I think the stadium engineers were considering strengthening the roof supports after his last match.

Reading the threads and watching the limited coverage on MotD, I can't get a clear grasp of how well everyone played. Seems like Forster made some good saves, finally showing the form he should be in every game. Good finish by Clasie, likewise good defending by the 2 CBs. Did Tadic not have a good game?
