  1. I sincerely hope Brighton don't manage it, and get seriously thumped on the way back down to whatever sticky brown patch they end up in. I was getting nervous when they were close to automatic promotion. Spent several years in the area with many 'acquaintances' who were Seaweed fans - as a South Coast 'rival' I got stick regularly. And the arrogance was extraordinary, them having recently been to the Cup Final v ManUre. This placed them, in my eyes, lower than Pompey. I know... must've been bad, huh? Yup. Can't stand the club, supporters... anything about them, quite frankly. I did go to the Goldstone ground in 1986 for the Cup QF, however. Saints won 2-0 thanks to Steve Moran & Glenn Cockerill. What a fine day that was! :smug:
  2. Must win game! IMO, most likely scenario: Man City draw with [bizarrely resurgent] Swansea Man Utd beat Bournemouth West Ham beat ['nothing to play for'] Stoke Saints beat Palace Liverpool draw with [often surprising at strange moments] West Brom so 4th Man City 66pts 5th Man Utd 66pts 6th West Ham 65pts 7th Saints 63pts 8th Liverpool 60pts But this is football, so who knows...?
  3. + points total league position (especially after another summer 'meltdown' last year!) excellent end-of-season run potentially getting a European spot - tbc VvD outstanding Forster & JRod returning from injury Bertrand's consistency Tadic improvement squad strength-in-depth results against 'big' clubs Koeman - disappointing European tour bad midwinter run red cards lack of Cup runs potentially missing out on a European spot - tbc RB position Not cementing dominant positions with hatfuls of goals
  4. Would he be better used as a kind of inside-right? Could be a balance for Tadic on the left? He seems to have pretty good control and we know his delivery is good (especially for a youngster). Could use them both to feed strikers from wide & deep - a bit Beckham-esque I know (but only an idea from a non-expert).
  5. Fantastic result! Amazing defending, particularly in the 2nd half. Great on the counter-attack - Long and Mane scared them. 2 surprise goals from Davis to RAM IT RIGHT UP 'EM!! HAHAHAAAAAAA! Get in! Now, lets hope Man Utd mess up their remaining league games but have an amazing [1-game] Cup run.
  6. What a save by Fraser! 2-1 win! Yeeeeeesssss!!
  7. Ooh only 5 mins Includes drinks break, by the sounds of it
  8. So, how many minutes added on?
  9. Oh wow, what a missed chance! Simple control and Long was in. But... oh dear!
  10. Pamela falls over while running alongside Vic - perfect chance for ref to give Spurs a dangerous free kick! I typed Lamela, but the spellcheck version seems more appropriate! haha
  11. He didn't look 100% after being jumped on earlier.
  12. YEEESSS! Good finish!
  13. Drinks break. Is it time for the new ball, too?
  14. Maybe he's listening to the commentary on an earpiece, and responding accordingly?
  15. Sky commentators almost hoping Spurs forward was pushed! Exasperating!
  16. Why didn't he cross it?!
  17. I keep wanting to pronounce Kane the same way we pronounce Mane
  18. Good goalkeeping, though.
  19. Do refs have to declare their allegiance to their preferred team when registering? Surely that would have to be taken into account when allocating refs to games.
  20. YESSS! Fantastic move, great finish! 1-1
  21. We're definitely 2nd best at the moment. They're finding spaces between our players. When we have the ball, we don't look confident enough to keep possession for long, even with their high pressing tactic.
  22. Martina's not having a great start to the game...
  23. The only starting Spuds player not to be either booked or subbed was Loris, the 'keeper (and captain?). Surely an FA charge for not controlling their players, on top of any individual bans (e.g. Dembele).
  24. Quote from Tony Cottee: Former Leicester man Tony Cottee spoke to Sky Sports News HQ about the Foxes' incredible title win. "They have played really well as a team and they have had a little bit of luck. What you would call the top teams... have been off-form, and Leicester haven’t had too many injuries or suspensions. "But let’s take absolutely nothing away from them, they have been the best team, and that is the biggest compliment I can pay them. Not the best individuals, but the best team." Er, you just did, mate!
