*Mongboard hystericals. Signing Gaston was a pretty unexpected event, Puncheon's form has been a huge surprise for me. Frankly, I'm still a bit surprised he's even in the building. Fair play to him, Nigel & Nicola for banging their heads together and getting a good outcome from a bad situation. I've always rated both Corky & Morgan, so I'm not all that surprised by their form - I really do believe they are potentially top quality Premiership players.

In fairness, RVP is probably in the top 3/5 Strikers in the world right now. Just because he is better than Rooney, doesn't mean Wayne isn't world class.

I don't want to get too ahead of myself. There's some way to go yet. But, it's starting to look like Nigel got a lot of big calls right, and showed decent foresight and belief in his decision. Some good decisions have been made at the club this season (yes, perhaps some wrong too). We may just be on the verge of an exciting time for our club.

How is it people you have never heard of must be Cortese signings? Surely of the two, Nigel Adkins (former professional, long background in the game, successful Football League Manager) is more likely to know obscure players than Nicola Cortese (Former businessman/banker, new to the game, Club CEO). It seems much more likely the Football man is more likely to be aware of FOOTBALL PLAYERS. Anyway, as has been said, this is a scouts job. This is the entire point of having a network of scouts. It was a stated aim of the club shortly after the take over to install a comprehensive scouting network, as the new administration/management team inherited a club with virtually no scouting network. How exactly do people think Cortese decides who he is going to sign?

Whilst in decline, it is still one of the biggest and highest quality leagues in Europe. I'm sure you would only whip yourself up into a frenzy if we weren't scouting Italy and other clubs were signing players from there.

Where have you got this from? You are clearly just making this up as you go along. Cortese does the deal. The scouts find the players. Adkins will identify areas of the team that need strengthening. Pretty sure it's not that hard to comprehend.
